Have you and your significant other ever met another couple you wanted to be friends with forever? We have and we found it in Kristy and Joel of Studio Red. Studio Red needs no introduction, no advertisement, and no promotion. Anyway, we booked Studio Red close to a year out from our wedding date (09/12/15). We've been planning our wedding for 16 years and knew we wanted to work with them 3 years ago when we saw their work at a friends' wedding. LOL, seriously! We were blown away by the quality and uniqueness of their cinematography. We were like spoiled brats in a candy store and we had to have them create something for us, no matter what. Not to mention Kristy and Joel are two AWESOME SAUCE people with morals and values we truly admire. Because we ordered the Love Story Feature, along with the Same Day Edit, we had to set time aside to film with SR prior to our wedding day. This part was so much fun!! We're neither an actor nor actress and feel awkward in front of a camera, but SR made the whole process enjoyable and made us feel completely comfortable. If you're unfamiliar with the filming process like we were, it can be long and repetitive. But, SR did not fail in keeping a live and upbeat environment. The end result was a 15 minute cinematic adventure of our love, and it was phenomenal. With front row seats to view our Love Story Feature and SDE on the day of, we honestly didn't know what to expect. We can only share these three facts: 1) we received over 50 compliments; 2) we watched our mini movie over 20 times; 3) it still brings tears to our eyes. What makes Studio Red different is their creative ingenuity, desire for innovation, and ability to adapt. They've created a new industry standard. If you are lucky enough to work with Studio Red, you will not be disappointed. One recommendation we'd give SR: Invest in human cloning. There simply isn't enough of their talent to go around and be shared with for the entire world! For goodness sakes people! Do not show a PowerPoint slideshow at your wedding. Kristy and Joel, we friggin love you!

My husband and I just got married this past Saturday and we're still excited with how it all turned out. Largely due to the fantastic job that Studio Red did at our wedding. Some of our guests are still talking about the SDE (same day edit) that they presented during our reception. Joel and Kristy were incredibly sweet, showed up on time, were professional, and filmed as discreetly as possible. They also worked well with our other vendors, such as our photographers from Dulce, which was important to us because everything flowed perfectly. I've watched all of Studio Red's videos and at one point, I was watching them again and again. I know it sounds a little obsessive, but their work is incredible. And it was important to me that we pick the right cinematographer to capture our day in a unique and special way. We had only met with one other cinematographer who is also well known for their SDEs. At the time, we hadn't discovered Studio Red yet and was about to book that other vendor, but by chance I found their website. I immediately knew that I wanted to book them when I started to cry while watching one of their videos. I wanted to evoke that same emotion from our guests.Watching our own SDE was surreal. It was like watching a movie. I still don't know how they do what they do. What really sealed the deal was the comments that we received from our guests. One of our guests said "I've never seen anything like that. Just amazing". Another guest said "The video alone was worth it." She knew how much went into the wedding plans so she thought it was all worth it with the video. Corresponding with Studio Red wasn't the easiest (they're very busy), but if you can be patient it is well worth the wait. They are reliable, professional, and so sweet. Thanks to them, our wedding was magical.

My husband and I recently got married, and Studio Red was our first choice videographers. We have seen and admired their work from our friends' weddings that we've attended. From beginning to end, their service was impeccable considering their busy schedules. For our wedding, we asked for the Love Story Feature and Same Day Edit. Their final product shown at our reception was absolutely beautiful and exceeded all our expectations. We have been SO blessed by Joel, Kristy, and Nikki! We are also so thankful for their patience and willingness to take on a long distance couple like us! God has truly blessed Studio Red with a talent that is unmatchable. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with us and our families. We love Studio Red!

Studio Red was amazing at our August 2011 wedding! Our same day edit was breath taking and we have received great comments from our guests. Joel and Kristy are a dream to work with and we were so happy to have them by our side recording our special day!I admit, they are hard to track down since they are so busy, but the quality of their work more than makes up for this.

While I was certain that I wanted to secure a videographer for our wedding day, my husband was not immediately convinced that it was a necessity. As most couples know, wedding expenses accumulate quickly and can be quite daunting -- especially when you are paying for the wedding yourselves! Studio Red was recommended by our wedding coordinator and also our photographer. After watching several videos from various wedding videographers, my husband and I recognized how much more Studio Red's work resonated with us. Studio Red's videos are beautifully shot and edited, with an artistic quality not often achieved by other videographers. Kristy Martin communicated with us leading up to the wedding and we shared some of our favorite songs, but the choice was ultimately theirs in determining what worked best. However, they ended up selecting the song that I secretly hoped they would! Plus, there is so much that we never really conveyed to Kristy and Joel -- such as having seen and loved black and white footage, wanting a wistful/romantic feel to the video, and really just wanting the focus to be on the two of us -- but, it didn't matter because, these are all elements that ended up in our same day edit and we were really thrilled about it all. I think Kristy, Joel, and their other videographers are just that awesome -- where just based on the look and feel of our wedding, they were able to translate that into our video. As a bride, you have your hand in selecting all of your vendors and bringing all of your ideas to life, so there really tends to be few surprises on the day of the wedding. For me, the same day edit video was one surprise I was really looking forward to and both my husband and I could not have been happier with Studio Red's work. I had goose bumps the entire time it played during our reception and all of our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the video was. My husband and I still watch the same day edit video all of the time. While we are still awaiting the rest of the footage included in the package that we purchased, we have no doubt that it will be just as stunning as the same day edit. Do not hesitate booking Studio Red as your wedding videographer, it is the best money spent on your wedding - a true investment in your memories. NOTE: Studio Red does not do photo slideshows, but Kristy ingeniously recommended that since I had a Mac, to create it in iMovie. Although I had never created one before, I was able to produce what I (and many of our guests) thought was a really good photo movie/slideshow! Even our DJs asked me how I did it because, they were impressed with how it turned out. I was a little intimidated to have to do it, but it really wasn't that hard. Plus, I feel like doing it myself really enabled me to capture those exact moments/songs to showcase mine and my husband's journey leading up to the wedding day. Studio Red is truly the best and my husband and I feel so lucky to have had them as our wedding videographers!

I can't even express how happy my husband and I are that Studio Red captured our wedding. I knew I didn't want a standard "cookie-cutter" video - you know the ones: photos of the bride, photos of the groom, photos of the couple, then a quick video of the ceremony... I mean, this was our big day. We wanted our video to be something that we could watch over and over, and share with our children/grandchildren someday.From our first meeting with Joel & Kristy, we just clicked. We felt they "got us" and were open to our (sometimes silly) ideas. Trusting our vendors was important to us since they were the ones executing our vision for our wedding. Studio Red didn't fail.Since our wedding was a bit out-of-the-box, neither we nor the team knew exactly what to expect. The Studio Red team was discreetly around on our wedding day - quietly capturing us getting ready, the ceremony and reception...When our "Single Day Edit (SDE)" was presented to us during our reception we couldn't believe it. It was like we were watching a movie in a film festival. Joel is a genius - he has a knack for pairing the appropriate soundtrack/score to the footage the team has captured and weave it all into a comprehensive piece that tugs on your heart strings. OK, you may be thinking "of course you loved it, it was YOUR wedding..."All I can say is take a look at their website - you'll FEEL the personality of each of the couples shine through and can't help but be moved by the piece. Each video is very different, just like each couple. You won't get a cookie cutter "video" like you would from other videographers, my husband and I feel we got our own short film. Our guests still comment on how wonderful our SDE was. It took quite a while for them to finish our final DVD and there were more than a few emails going back and forth (thus the 4 stars), but the final product was worth the wait. Since we were "zoned" into each other for the duration of the day, it's absolutely amazing to review what the team captured that we failed to notice. It's true what people say - "it takes a lot of time to plan a wedding, but it feels like a second when you're living through it." We were especially taken aback when we saw our own reactions to our "first-look" (seeing each other for the first time), us reciting our vows, and the joy on our faces as we were pronounced "husband and wife." Those are the details you can't ever relive or even recount. I'm so happy the Studio Red team was able to capture our day. My husband and I have shed more than our share of "happy tears" watching the video. It will truly be one of our lifetime treasures. ...now pass the kleenex, please.

In response to "Joel C. of Studio Red 7/11/2011 (see his comment on bottom of this review)": You're talking about the wrong customer cause I didn't start planning my wedding until end of January 2011. During my first phone call to Studio Red in February 2011 I offered a deposit right away to Jacque but was given the runaround (see my previous review to see what happened)... Get your company better organized -- start by getting your facts straight. I guess this means there's at least one other dissatisfied customer out there. "Comment from Joel C. of Studio Red 7/11/2011: We receive tons of inquiries and we do our best to respond to them in the most prompt and professional way possible. And as much as we respond to people's inquiries we understand that people are shopping around and inquiring with other studio's as well and with that in mind we don't like to hound, chase, and smother our inquiries with emails. We give people the space and time to make a decision of whether to move forward with us or not. In the event we don't receive a response it is an assumption that you're still shopping or you've moved on. This particular inquiry came in October of 2010 and she waited until February 2011 to say she was interested in moving forward. At that point we received 2 more inquiries for the same day. Unlike the first person both inquiries got back to us saying they each wanted to move forward and we dealt with each in the order that they came in. Please remember that inquiries are not binding commitments and that communication, constant communication with a vendor high on your list is a must to get them for your day. A loving word of advice to everyone...please don't wait until the last moment."
