Straub Kapolei Clinic & Urgent Care

WE just changed over to Straub, and it was our first time taking my Special Need son to Straubs Urgent Care. The reception set up front and center in a half moon shape, while Urgent Care is on one side, and appointments were on the other side. I like that they have a stand with masks (2) sizes, and several tissue slots and hand sanitizer. The male Nurse who did my sons vials was very efficient and he just knew how to handle my son with direct directions for him to follow. The wait was long but the waiting area is very roomy especially when you need room for a Special Needs. My son started to cough and needed a vomit bag, and the receptionist was quick in getting us one in time. I didn't have to ask. They are efficient. The Doctor was nice, thorough and brief as she knew it was a long wait, but it was a great experience.

2 hour wait to be seen with chills and fever, plus another hour wait for test results. Such a miserable experience. If they know they're always so busy no matter what day or time, I don't know why they don't add another Physician Assistant or Doctor. And forget trying to see your own PCP there, you'll have to wait 2 months for an appointment. So we actually have no choice.

Why state your hours are full 8pm when you turn patients away at 6pm ? Terrible patient care.

I traveled into Town (Honolulu) for pre surgery test and classes. The Orthopedic group (Straub Bone and Joint Center) that is handling my surgery practices there.Check in at xray and the techs were friendly and got me in and out quickly. The staff on check in were all very friendly and helpful.After a quick lunch in the Cafe moved on into the pre surgery classes. It was a group class with the Physical Therapist, Nurse and Physicians Assistant.Covering different aspects of pre and post surgery. Very impressed with the whole program and the materials provided. I've never had surgery, so this was very helpful in preparing and putting me at ease.

We were on vacation from California and visited this Urgent Care.Convenient location in the mall. They were efficient and got us in an hour before they closed. We were able to be seen and prescribed medication for our Daughter. The doctor and staff was very friendly.

Called in ahead of to ask if it's okay to walk in since they are an urgent care. I let them know I had a fever and they said that's fine and to come in. No need appointment. I drove there and not even half way past the door, the front desk lady told me "What are you here for?" and when I said a fever, she immediately told me to leave. "We aren't taking any respiratory patients. We're Closed". Mind you there was people inside sitting in the waiting room and someone walked in right after me and sat down as well. It was 6:30 According to any online source, they close at 8. Had to go ER instead because I caught a really bad case of the FLU. A previous visit, after waiting 2 hours in the waiting room (understandable because it's a urgent care) they then had me waiting in the patient room for a whole hour and nobody checked up on me. When I was finally seen, they dismissed my issue and sent me home with nothing and said I was fine. I scheduled an appointment with my PCP in town after and turns out I actually broke my toe. All in all a terrible experience with them.

Okay so we came here because hubby's back has been in pain since Saturday and it was to the point where he couldn't get up out of bed without being in pain. He checked in up front without an appointment and had to fill out paperwork. He had issues with his insurance before and had a hard time getting medications. This time he changed the location to the pharmacy inside Safeway at Kunia location. He managed to get his meds with a little hesitancy because the pharmacist had to verify some code which took a little while. Once that was done, he got his meds and we left. The ladies were really nice and he managed to get in an hour and 45 minutes later. Waiting seemed like an eternity but they help people in the order they come in. The wait was long but my hubby finally got to see a doctor. She took her time asking hubby questions about his pain. I definitely liked how the doctor asked questions to make sure he didn't break any bones. I honestly don't understand why there's always an issue with the medicine. Then hubby goes to his job and apparently doesn't want him going to the urgent care under Straub. His job covers under somewhere else. Just so frustrating dealing with the insurance.

Don't waste your time going to urgent care they're just gonna tell you you must follow up with your regular doctor an then send you home,And then when you see your regular doctor, he will prescribe you the things you need to help you get better faster,Save the long ass wait in the cold ass lobby and just make an appointment with your doctor,Instead of a half assed medical service at urgent care It's just not worth your time or gas because they do nothing

Waited there for four hours only to be told it's going to be another few hours...... ended up leaving because that's ridiculous. if the estimated time is going to change by that much maybe tell the patients??? Or have a live estimate on the app. I get it we don't have nearly enough doctors on this side, volume is too high etc. but I saw people who checked in same time as me already be seen... And why does online say that you're open Christmas but the sign inside says closed Christmas Day and new years....

I went at 8am because thats what time it said it opened online... only to find out it opened at 10. Stayed 2 hours until it opened for chills, fever, sinus congestion. Finally got in at 11, only for them to prescribe me soups, juices and OTC Mucinex!! I went to another doctor right after and he said I needed antibiotics!!! WTH is wrong with that place?? Everything from quack doctors to poor quality service.
