Adorable mom and pop coffee shop with a nice ambiance to sit and chat. Options for food and coffee. Sandwiches were very nicely toasted on bread (the steak sandwiches are on two individually toasted breads), and come with a choice of potatoes and chips or potatoes and salad. The potatoes were lightly seasoned with rosemary. The steak and avocado sandwich had a rich seasoning to it, and the steak pieces are thick, with mozzarella oozing out. Coffee was well made and had a rich flavor, caramel macchiato is not too sweet, which I appreciated. Not a spot for working or hanging out, as there is no wifi and a 2 hour max on seating. Parking is in the lot out front.

Errrr not sure why this place has such glowing reviews. Other than it being a cozy looking spot that's pretty quiet, I didn't think much of this spot Parking is a huge pain, there's a ton of construction in the lot but at least there's a few spots available plus some hard to get street parking. The owner has a "2 hour dining rule" and no wifi or outlets to discourage people from camping out here. That's fine and all but I was there at 3pm on a weekday as their only customer for several hours, and asked to leave. Was just sitting and reading and would have been happy to buy something else.... That left a pretty sour taste and I won't be back. Also the food/drinks aren't anything special, and quite expensive. My friend ordered a grilled cheese/tomato soup for $12. The grilled cheese wasn't actually grilled, it was clearly toasted grocery store sandwich bread with a slice of Kraft cheese and the tomato soup was canned. I had an overpriced 8 ounce latte which was just steamed milk and dissolved ginger granules for $6.50.All in all, unimpressed, there are much better cafes out there. 2 stars because the cafe is cozy, clean and quiet. The chair selection is pretty entertaining too.

We stopped into Spero Spera with a couple of friends on their recommendation for lunch, and it is a cute little cafe tucked into a random corner that appears to be run by a lovely Korean couple (which was surprising to me, given that I figured the cafe name was Italian, LOL).I got the Vegetarian Sandwich, and when I asked about whether there was mayonnaise etc. in it (I have an egg allergy), the gentleman at the counter told me that the menu on the board lists everything that goes into the sandwiches, so that's handy to know. The baked potatoes were done just right, and the sandwich was good. I also got the peach iced tea thinking it wouldn't be that sweet (would have liked an iced unsweetened option), but it was a bit too sweet for me. My husband got the Garlic Steak Sandwich, and perplexingly got it with the potatoes even though he doesn't like potatoes, LOL (he ate one and left the rest behind... I considered snagging them because they were creamy and well done, but knew I should save room for shave ice later). He also got the coffee smoothie and really loved that (I tried a sip and it was quite good). Friends got the Avocado Lover and Grilled Cheese & Tomato Bisque, which were apparently their usuals. The service was friendly, if a bit surprised by me asking questions regarding my allergy and how sweet the iced tea was (they told me it was normal sweetness, LOL). Sandwiches came out pretty fast, as well. The location itself is cute and has seating on the ground floor and second floor (or loft?), but we sat on the first floor near the ordering table so I didn't really see the upper level. It's not necessarily something to write home about, but it's a good cafe and I could see myself going back if we're in the area again.

Came here to camp out and study for a few hours, so will be rating this place based on that.Vibe: super cute! Cozy. Basically empty at lunch time on a random weekday. A couple ppl came in to eat and then left. But def empty from a camping out at the cafe stand point. Ample seating upstairs, jazzy soft music, Animal Crossing shown on the tv which was super cozy haha. Very clean.Parking: free and ample, which we love.Bathroom: present! Which we also love. Bathroom is rly clean too, feels like the cafe is someone's house kinda haha.Food: reasonably priced ($14 for a sandwich with side of salad), the mixed avocado sandwich was super good! Stuffed with a lot of ingredients :) and the worker actually walked it upstairs to my seat! Probably cuz I was the only person in there, and also probably cuz I didn't hear him say it was ready downstairs lol. I believe you're supposed to go down and grab it yourself. They have tons of sandwich options, and love that their coffee is honolulu coffee co cuz I love that brand.Cons: NO WIFI!! I was like whyyyy have my friends always treated this as a great study spot?! No wifi?! Had to hotspot from my phone the whole time. Also 2 hour time limit for sitting!! Def not study camp material. I don't think they would've asked me to leave had I stayed over time since I was being quiet and clean and was the only person in there, but I def wanted a place that I could sit for several hours. It also got a little chilly, would recommend long pants and a jacket if intending to sit for (two) hours.Overall, not a bad place to study for short periods and if you don't need wifi. There are no outlets though so you can't charge your devices. Might come again as a place to catch up with friends instead.

Spero and Spera are so cute and they're such great host/hostess and their food is always fresh and inviting. It's never noisy even when there's a small group (they have an upstairs, too) and they have tennis balls underneath the legs of the chairs so they don't scratch the floor. Isn't that clever!? Will be back again for sure.

Walking into this place, is beautiful!!! Very relaxing and clean! The man and woman working is so kind! They played with my son and also gave us little yogurt drinks after we finished eating. I love the customer service here! I appreciate how put together the food was and presented to us very nicely. In the mixed avocado the sauce used compliments the veggies!! Highly recommend!!!!!

Such a cute and cozy spot, perfect for a chill coffee date with a friend or solo with yummy sandwiches. Service is quick, and the place seems to be owned by a sweet older couple. There is no wifi and seating is limited to 2 hours, so it's a great place to disconnect and read a book or catch up with a friend. I got the mixed avocado sandwich (i think?) and it was great, just as described! Next time, I want to try the steak and avocado--that one looked amazing. Also plenty of parking which is a plus

I woke up this morning craving a good sandwich. Trolled Yelp for the best sandwich shop on the island. After much searching, I found this hidden Gem. I decided to order the Mixed Avocado $12.42. The sandwich came with a bag of chips that went well with the Sandwich. The sandwich was made with care and thought. Everything was paired perfectly. I mean the shredded carrots and cabbage provided the sweetness to the salted ham and bacon. I also ordered the Bacon Salami $12.42, but this time opted to pair this sandwich with the organic side salad. The salad was complimented with a balsamic vinegar dressing. The sandwich is served on a French roll. The sandwich was served warm seeing the mozzarella needed to be melted. This would be my go to when on a run. The establishment decor provides a warm place to study, read or just to escape the town hustle and bustle. Establishment is rather large place that has two areas to sit and enjoy. Bottom floor can host 14 people and their upstairs can host another 20 people. They have soft jazz music in the background that topped everything off. This place isn't just a sandwich shop, it also serves a rather large selection of caffeine and teas (I'll be back to review). In closing: Whether you're in search for some coffee or a quick bite, I recommend you try Spera Spera if you are in the Honolulu town area. Until next time, eat till your heart is content.

My grandfather and I go on "coffee safaris" every Friday morning, in search of cafes with good food, hot coffee (but not too hot), and good accessibility. Spero Spera is in our neighborhood, but I hadn't visited in at least 5-6 years. But it's fabulous!! The coffee is delicious and the sandwiches are made with such care at a reasonable price. It has 1st and second floor seating and well spaced out even with lots of people inside. The owner was very patient and kind, and let us take our time enjoying our food (my grandfather likes to drink his whole coffee before having a single bite).

I've been here many time and I tend to frequent here when I'm in the mood for some light conversation, drinks and a light brunch. The interior is SOOO CUTE!!! And it's very relaxing inside! I wish there were more cafes like this in every neighborhood! The owners who I think are probably husband and wife are so nice! Their dishes are simplistic but delicious! This is the perfect spot for anyone that wants to sit, drink& snack while they enjoy some calming alone time or even time with friends!
