The wife and I were out finalizing Christmas shopping and finally got a chance to stop in.We were lucky as it wasn't that busy and they sat us right away.Ambiance is nice, exposed brick, industrial style lights, leather seats along the window, you know da kine....Old school r and b, variety of mixed drinks, mimosa juices and cocktails. The poutine was delicious! Hand cut fries, gravy, cheese curds and not overly seasoned!!!! Thank the heavens, a place that has not salted the hell out of their fries.Star of the show here was the biscuits and gravy, moist fried chicken, dipped in pork gravy, my back was literally getting bigger as i sat there today.Biscuits were nice and flaky as well, gravy was ono. Service here is kick back, helpful, but not in your face as well which is what I prefer. Will be back at night to enjoy a cocktail and try some of their dinner options.I am a fan.

Visited Smith & Kings for a Sunday brunch with a small party of 3 of us. The place was packed with a few open tables that were reserved for upcoming parties. We were fine with bar seating so got seated right away up at the bar. They were a full house at the time we sat down so it was a bit of a long wait for our food to come. But they were upfront with us that the kitchen was backed up so it was going to be a while. We were in no rush and despite the wait time, they were open and kept checking on us with updates as they could, so great service there. I ordered the Butterfly Pea Tea Lemonade (mocktail), the BLT Benedict with the tomato bisque as my complimentary side, and the Breakfast Poutine for the table to share. My boyfriend got the burger with grits and they mistakenly gave him the soup but they corrected it right away. The food was good, not spectacular great, but it was good. The lemonade was super refreshing and I would've loved adding some gin to it (just wasn't feeling like a drink after running a 10k lol). BUT you can turn the mocktail into a cocktail, which I saw the couple next to us do. Will be back again to try their cocktails. They also have board/card games section that you can use so it's a good spot for socializing with friends. I really want to looove this place and they have great potential, but as of now the food price point to value isn't at that level yet. TL;DR: if you're in the area or doing a bar hop downtown, check them out and try them out for yourself! Lemonade mocktail is yum (add some alcohol for extra yum), tomato bisque is yummy too.

Ambiance was lovely, but the food wasn't the greatest. We ordered the 2 egg deluxe breakfast, Mac daddy and lobster deviled egg. The bacon was really good, eggs were standard and the rest were meh.The lobster deviled egg is definitely not worth it. Do not recommend.Unfortunately, there is a 3% service fee for credit cards, but it is prominently listed on the menu.

The food was ok, not too memorable. The drinks were unique, wide variety of choices. Our server was very knowledgeable on the beers and gave great recommendations. I would say come for the drinks and socializing, the food was subpar.. don't expect to leave full and satisfied.

I really wanted to like this restaurant since it's been on our "must try" list for over a year. We visited on a Saturday @ 1030 and were 1 of 4 groups there. Once our drinks and order was taken no one came back to the table to check on us. When we initially placed our order the waitress came back to say there wasn't any chicken so a couple of dishes had to be reordered. We ordered the farmers scramble, catfish & grits and poutine. We were served biscuits & gravy w/chicken an additional side of biscuits and gravy that we didn't order. We questioned there being chicken now but moving on...the farmers scramble and poutine lacked taste but the catfish and grits were seasoned well. The cornbread was dry and hard. I can maybe see the appeal after a few drinks!

Local joint in Chinatown with local vibes and hospitality. Food is run of the mill bar food, cocktails are decent, but kama'aina service. Next time plan to hit happy hour, which I was told is from 3-6 pm

Adventures in Chinatown! Went to a show at the Hawaii Theater and wanted to get some food. All our usual places were participating in some Halloween pub crawl and had limited menus and were really crowded. After passing a lady throwing up on the sidewalk (and mooning us), a couple getting into a pushing fight, and another couple screaming at each other, we checked Yelp and saw that Smith & Kings was still open for a late dinner. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders (Description: Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders, served with house fries, honey mustard and buttermilk ranch). Very limited non alcoholic drink menu, so had to go with water. When the dish came, the waitress set the dish down and asked, "Is there anything objectionable about your dish?" I thought that was an odd question to ask before I even tasted it. I looked at the dish (lighting is really dim in restaurant) and thought I got sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. I was starving and just wanted to eat, so i said it was okay. Nope. Not sweet potato. These were koge (burnt) and not in a good way. No edible. I flagged down a server to ask for not burnt fries. They agreed right away. Took some time but I got not burnt fries. That's why she asked me if there was a problem with my dish. They KNEW the fries were burnt. Guess they were hoping I like eating charcoal? The chicken tenders were good and cooked perfectly. . .the charcoal fries, not so much. So I ate the chicken tenders because they left them on the table, then ate the fries for dessert cos it came after I finished the chicken. Sounds like this is the place to go for brunch or lunch and maybe not for dinner. :(

Good food located in Chinatown. For a small location it was quite loud. It's always nice seeing a familiar face within the staff when trying a new place.

Recommended by a friend for Brunch and was not disappointed with the food! They had an open seating, as long as the table was not reserved you can choose where to sit, but I was a little cold so I would bring a sweater next time. Don't sleep on the Cajun Fish N Grits! This dish was recommended by the waitress. I was a little worried because looking back at other reviews they all looked very different, but it was so flavorful! The fish wasn't dry and the corn bread was pretty good too. The only thing I didn't really like was the bacon on the side, but my friend said it was good to have since it was sweet to balance the salty Cajun flavor. We also ordered the Biscuits N Gravy, which was delicious! We used the extra gravy with the biscuits and dipped the chicken in with every bite!
