They had me at mushrooms...These folks are not to be missed as they have all things mushrooms but so much more. I was so thrilled to find them at the Saturday KCC Farmers Market though I did the first walk through I seriously didn't notice them until several passes I must've been overwhelmed lol!Not only do they sell their fresh Portabella Mushrooms we get to enjoy what makes them so phenomenal. Mushroom poppers, Mushroom Risotto Cakes, and Zucchini fries are all my favorites!! You certainly can enjoy them ala carte but they have a trio which was something I couldn't resist. All made to order which actually is a very short wait they can package it for here to enjoy as you browse or in a container to go which I thought was a thoughtful gesture which is what I did because I later wanted to enjoy it sitting on the curb but up at the Cactus Garden. They also have some other friend yummies like Deep Fried Bananas, Deep Fried Oreos, Deep Fried Portabella Sandwich which is their 15th Anniversary Special. Small Kine Farm is an amazing biz that dishes out some huge flavors!Thank you!

Small Kine Farm has the best organic mushrooms. They have baby portabello mushrooms and oyster mushrooms. I always grab a bag of each when I see them at the kakaako farmers market on Saturday or the Kailua farmers market on Sunday. Some of the high end restaurants source from small kine farms. I would definitely recommend if you value organic produce. And the mother and the son who work at the booth at the farmers market are really nice people too

Small kine a hidden gem, but plenty kine 'ono!My friends and I stumbled upon this vendor at the KCC Farmers Market this past July and were wowed by the variety of things that were possible with mushrooms. A young family was running the booth, and our order was promptly taken right before the market was finishing up for the day. All of the items were served piping hot, and we were oh, so excited to dig in!* trio plate ($12): comes with mushroom poppers, zucchini, and risotto cakes. The mushroom poppers were juicy white mushrooms coated in a breadcrumb coating. Simple, but delicious. The zucchini was also coated in a breadcrumb coating; it remained juicy and crispy which was a plus. As for the risotto cakes...* deep fried mushroom risotto cakes ($8 ala carte): ...I knew I had to get a bigger serving of this for the group. This was divine. Mushroom risotto with a breadcrumb coating? Blew my mind. I gave this booth another visit this past August JUST for this alone. Happy that this booth exists! A little underrated, but so, so yummy!

Do you love mushrooms? I sure do! And this place has all kinds of mushroom yumminess! Whether you like them raw and to cook with or deep fried and ready to eat. They have it all. I learned about this Kailua open market vendor on Thursday from my friend, Jillian. She found a cool side job here and she kept posting all these amazing mushroom poppers and zucchini fritters every Thursday. Finally, I found time and a reason to go down to this farmers market to check her stand out. All I could smell as I approached their booth was fried goodness. I arrived as soon as the market opened @ 4pm, which was good because it was rather empty. They had a bunch of fried goodies, selection of beautiful portabello mushrooms fresh from the farm, soups and prepared frozen meals to go! Wow. Decided to get the Trio Plate because why not? I've been dying to try these items so why not get a little of each. Comes with mushroom poppers, zucchini fries and risotto cakes! And are drizzled with a ranch and shiracha ranch dressing. My friend was so sweet, she also gave me a bowl of their mushroom soup to try too! It was hard not to eat them while driving but I didn't want to eat with my hands. Each item were fried to a golden perfection. The zucchini fries had a tenpura batter and was oh so juicy! The mushroom poppers were rolled in a panko and has a great crunch to it. The risotto cakes were also breaded in panko and fried. Nice and rich risotto inside and crunchy outside. Everything was soooo good!!! To my surprise though, the mushroom soup was the star. I wasn't expecting all the deliciousness that came from this!!! It's creamy, but not thick like the cream of mushroom you get from a can. It is hands down the best mushroom soup I've had in a very long time. I would buy a jug of this!! Thank you, Jillian for introducing me to this gem. Will definitely be back to get more fried goodies and soup! Also, if you can't get to Kailua on a Thursday afternoon, they are also at the Saturday KCC farmers market too! Check them out and get your shrooms on. :)

My boyfriend took me to the KCC Farmer's Market where we saw Small Kine Farm selling some of their food. Their specials is mushrooms! We picked up some deep fried bananas and some soup; I only took photos of the bananas, unfortunately! They also have mushroom burgers and other snacks to ear while you're walking around the market. The bananas nice and doughy, and you get to pick what kind of sauce you'd like drizzles on it. But the star for me was definitely their soup!! Currently because of Covid no one is allowed to eat within the market, so I got to dig into the soup at home. I was blown away by the soup! It was so flavorful and hearty without being creamy; I would definitely come back and order a tub to take home! If you like mushrooms, Small Kine Farm is a must try!

I've seen their little booth at the KCC farmer's marketplace and decided to try them out! Tried their mushroom poppers and deep fried zucchini. DELICIOUS!!! $8 each dish. You get about five long pieces of zucchini and about 8 pieces of mushroom poppers. It comes out fresh and hot so watch out! Burnt a little bit of the roof of my mouth when I bit into the deep fried zucchini. I like how they are local and the zucchini and mushrooms tastes fresh! Might visit again when I'm craving for some deep fried goodness.

I was lucky enough to try Small Kine Farm's fungi food at their booth at Kailua Farmer's (Thursday) Market. I am so happy that I did because their fare is ONO!The Farmer's (Thursday) Market located in the parking lot by Longs Drugs and Ulta. The vendors start selling at 5:00 pm and end at 7:30 pm. The Farmer's Market has produce vendors and hot food booths. So, if you are coming for hot food, the lines can get long. If you are coming for your fresh veggies and fruit, the better stuff could sell out. I would recommend coming early because parking can get scarce. (Maui Brew and the new restaurants have recently opened and attracting crowds.)Back to Small Kine Farms, they have one of the things that I love:MUSHROOMS. Lucky me, they make their food out of mushrooms! They serve mushroom croquettes, deep fried zucchini, mushroom poppers. You can also buy harvested mushrooms to prepare yourself. Bring cash, because at this time they don't accept plastic. The food is served completely fresh as they don't have things already made to give out. The food comes out quick, so get ready to dive in. The food is ono! Anything you order will be delicious! So if you are in the mood for supporting local, fried deliciousness, or mushrooms, this is the place to check out!
