From the first email exchange between Jonah (business owner) and I, I could tell he would be really cool to work with. I had checked out his website and seen a sample of his work, and was like "yea right, there's no way my wedding can look that cool!" But I wanted video of our wedding, so we went ahead with our contract/reservation. On our wedding day, I was so right. Jonah and Marlene are the absolute best! So chill, so kind, such positive energy flowing out of them! Working with them was so effortless - I hardly knew when they were shooting! I was the bride at my wedding! I saw everything, because I was there! Right?! When we saw the video highlight of our wedding... there are not enough words!!!!!!! I could hardly believe it was our wedding! I cried, then we watched it on repeat 5 times before my husband and I called and left the most gushing voicemail for Jonah and Marlene. IT. IS. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I don't even know how many times I've watched that video highlight to date and how many people have given rave reviews about it. Not just how the beauty of the day and all our guests was captured; but the video quality, the attention to detail in the editing with the picture and the songs and words being spoken, the way the vows were cut and interwoven (even though we wrote our own vows). When my husband and I first started researching for our wedding vendors, we came across a Small Hour Films video on Youtube and was instantly impressed by their work. From the moment we connected with Jonah & Marlene via email, we just knew they were the perfect fit for us. They are super helpful, so kind, professional, genuine, down to earth and will truly go above and beyond to help you (even if it's not related to videography). For example, when we asked for advice/recommendations for venues, wedding coordinators, and photographers, Jonah went above and beyond and wrote us such a long, well thought out and detailed email of what information we needed. We live in California so finding the right vendors was challenging. But with the help of Jonah and Marlene, we actually found our wedding coordinator and our photographer for our engagement photoshoot through them! And we were not disappointed one bit. They are so easy to talk to and respond to your emails in such a timely manner. If they do not respond in 1-2 days, they are apologetic which I think speaks volume about the business they run and the customer service they provide. Fast forward to the wedding day, Jonah and Marlene are one of the kindest and most humble people we have met. They have such a positive and calm energy, which is something you need on your big day, especially with all the chaos that may be happening around you. They are awesome! We even found out later on, that they stayed a little longer than our contracted time just to make sure they captured all the fun we had with our guests. So incredible! Once we received our highlight film and full edit, we were so happy and impressed by their work. You can tell they really took the time to make sure that they have captured the most special moments of our day. The attention to details and style of filming won us over! They are so talented and definitely great at what they do. Their work truly tells your story which is such a blessing because this will be something we can look back on, share with our future children, and relive for the rest of our lives. We cry rewatching our video! It was captured so well. We 100% recommend Small Hour Films as your wedding videographer, or videographer for any special event. Jonah and Marlene from Small Hour Films were SO helpful throughout the whole wedding process and very easy to communicate with. Not only was working with them amazing, but they were both genuinely kind, caring people who wanted to do everything they could to make sure my husband and I were comfortable on our wedding day and to make sure we got the perfect videography to capture our special day. They even went through the trouble of suggesting to adjust their timeline to best fit our wedding day schedule so they could catch all the special moments throughout the day like the first look.They're pros at what they do and we felt so comfortable and happy working with them. I saw samples of their cinematography work and decided to have them on the day of the proposal. I'll get into more details, but if you think you don't need a video of your proposal, please PLEASE reconsider - your fiancée and future self will thank your for it!The morning of instructions were clear and concise - last thing you want is more things to remember while you are trying to formulate your proposal. Quite literally, all I had to remember was to make sure I somehow forget something from the car, walk back, and Jonah will find me to attach a hidden mic. Everything else after that, they had it covered - even the drone shots I requested!Before the actual proposal, even though I knew they were there, I actually did not even notice them at all! But don't let their discreetness fool you. Even being completely out of sight, they were able to capture all of our favorite and momentous moments perfectly on the ground and in the air!The audio from the hidden mic was clear, the footages taken were high quality, and the vision they had in order to curate the video was nothing short of amazing! The way the sequence of events flow together, how the footages are synchronized with the music, and even timing of certain clips with my long-winded speech were just incredible! On top of it all, the turnaround time was fast!We've probably watched the finished product several times already, but the first time we did, it brought tears to our eyes. Just watching it feels like we are reliving that sunrise proposal in Lanikai all over again and we are glad that Small Hour Films' Jonah and Marlene were there as our Videographers.If we have any need for videography in Oahu again, Small Hour Films will definitely be our top choice! If I could give Small Hour Films a 10-Star rating, I would!!!Had the BEST experience with Small Hour Films (Jonah and Marlene). I went with the surprise proposal video package and they literally KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK.First off, they both are amazing people and super easy/fun to work with. They are so laid back and awesome, it just made shooting the videos FUN. Really easy to communicate with and they PROS.The video was jaw dropping amazing. Me and my significant other were in awe of the video. They really captured out personalities, the once in a lifetime moments, and everything in between. Literally, cannot ask for a better team to get your videos done.They'll guide you in every step of the way from beginning to end. My wife and I would like to give a very enthusiastic 5 stars to Small Hour Films for their capture of our beach wedding last month. I was referred to them by a friend and had no connection to them personally, and their level of service went way, way beyond our expectations. Here are the main points I'd like to highlight: (1) Communication. From the moment we reached out, Jonah was extremely available via phone or email. We had several specific concerns about capturing the ceremony we planned, and his prompt, regular communication with us quickly made us feel like we were on the same page with the videographers. We were confident they understood what we wanted before we went forward with anything. (2) Effort. Jonah went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. Because he hadn't shot there recently, Jonah scoped out the site the day before the event to check angles, lighting conditions, etc. As an amateur photographer myself, this spoke volumes for me. He knew what to expect to get the video right the first time, and we were only planning to have one wedding ceremony, so this was important. As an added bonus, Jonah jumped in to help my grandfather with something physical after we had finished shooting. Totally not in the job description, but he was happy to help. (3) Quality of the product. I can't stress enough how impressed we were with the video. I thought for sure the sound quality would be terrible because of the wind, but it was perfect because of Jonah's system of relying on multiple mics to capture the event. The visuals were absolutely superb. We didn't realize it, but Jonah had taken drone footage the day before, which he incorporated into the final product. The video quality was as high as it gets. Finally, the edits of the ceremony were tight and appropriate. They anticipated certain events and captured all the key moments and reactions. Best of all, it was not overly cheesy, though I'm sure they could crank the cheesiness if you wanted. Conclusion: A lot of couples are wary of who they can trust with their wedding video. You can trust these guys. They really, really want to make sure you're happy with the final product, and we were very impressed. Thanks so much, Jonah.

Jonah and Marlene were SO FUN to work with at our Wedding in March of 2023 and their level of service was TOP NOTCH. They captured such amazing memories and their QUALITY of videos is superb! I've had everyone I've shared our highlight video with comment on how professional the videos are, they have never seen such high-quality wedding videos before!It's so wonderful to relieve our wedding day through the videos and to see all the moments they captured that we didn't get to witness ourselves the day-of.I can't recommend them enough if you're looking for a videographer!

Jonah & Marlene were our videographers for our wedding on Oahu in October 2023. We were very happy with the highlight video and full edit video. The highlight video took about 1-2 months and the full edit video took about 7 months. They even sent us raw clips of my brother playing cello for the ceremony. I highly recommend this duo.

They even went the extra mile to do further editing with our wedding footage per our request, even though it had been one year after our wedding! Marlene and Jonah from SHF are the absolute best people and their work is amazing! We got married in February in a small, backyard elopement after 3 change of plans due to the pandemic. Marlene and Jonah were so flexible and understanding even with all the last minute changes. By that time I honestly was burnt out of trying to plan and just wanted to get it done - but the day turned out to be better than I could have imagined and I'm SO glad we decided to still have videography even for such a small wedding. Both Marlene and Jonah arrived extra early that morning to strategically place equipment in the tight space and to get their details shots before our photographers to not be in their way. Jonah actually took drone footage either the day before or that morning which added such a special element since the area is where I grew up. Marlene was my main contact on the wedding day and she was so calm and helpful as I got ready. They are absolute professionals and the nicest people, the exact combination you want on your big day!They got our highlight and full ceremony video back to us very quickly and it was AMAZING. There were so many little details I either forgot our didn't actually see and the video captured every element and emotion perfectly. The best way I can think to describe it is it magnified the day. Since we couldn't invite many friends and family, it was perfect to be able to send to them so they could feel like they witnessed the day too. We got so many compliments on the video and of course many tears! In addition to those videos Marlene and Jonah were kind enough to add on a "boomerang" clip for social media and the CUTEST short compilation of our dog Mugsy's best moments of the day! My dog mama heart was so happy (bonus Marlene and Jonah are huge animal lovers!) I would not hesitate for a second to book SHF for their professionalism, attention to detail, incredible quality, and just their overall kindness. They are the exact vendor you'd want.
