The pies were awesome!! We got the all flavor type of pie. So the whole family could taste each flavor. Let me tell you the flavors are so full and tasty!! Totally recommend for those special occasionYes the price is very high but you are paying for quality stuffI hope to come back one day.. it makes me salivate just thinking about it!!

I have been here twice and looking forward to many more visits to Slice by HB Baking!First off, I want to talk about their ice cream scoops. It seems like their flavors are seasonal so you must go back and check out what they have! So far I've tried:Kapahulu Mango - creamy, rich in flavor, and it literally tastes like a puréed frozen mango. Absolute bliss. Hibiki Whiskey - it tastes like a sweetened Hibiki and is heavenly! You can totally taste the flavors of Hibiki against the cream. Next up are their ice cream pies. They are sold by the slice in store and are carefully packed. The slices are also frozen well in case you need to take them home. But bring a cooler bag if you have a longer drive! Here are the flavors I've tried;Lemon Meringue - my absolutely favorite! It's tart, it's sweet, and the meringue is so good! The flavors cut through to the taste buds well and is a great treat if you're full after dinner! Strawberry Shortcake - it's sweet, well made, and feels nostalgic with the fruity pebbles and edible glitter. This is a super pretty slice! Snuggy Bear - richer, sweeter, and another great after dinner pie with its coffee taste and salted milk crumble. The toffee ice cream in this was amazing! Chocolate Mousse - rich but light! This had a strong chocolate taste but didn't feel overly sweet or heavy. Perhaps because it's a mousse? This paired beautifully with the Hibiki ice cream! (I know, ice cream on ice cream but it works!). Lastly I tried the bibingka brownie which my BF bought. It was chewy, not overly sweet, and they were so nice to ask if we wanted an edge or center piece! They are individually packed and would make a great lunch pick-me-up in the middle of the work day! Parking is easily accessible in the parking lot or street parking. My tip would be to come down on Kapahulu from the market city side so you don't need to make that treacherous left turn into Kilohana Square.

We were looking for a backup dessert place as our first choice was closed, unfortunately. We saw this on Yelp and rushed over since it was 45 mins before closing. It took a bit longer since it is in the behind parking lot where Mr. Ojisan used to be. It is a small, cozy shop with several ice cream pie selections and a rotating shaved ice combination. After... a long time pondering (I think I took 10 minutes... sorry!) I ended up ordering the Shaved ice ($17).Tangerine Shaved Ice: 10/10. Despite the shaved ice being $17, it is a very hefry serving with lots of toppings and a bottom layer of additional fruits. There are pieces of cheesecake, mochi, strawberries, tangerine slices, and a scoop of ice cream. The fruits were on top and layered on the bottom. The shaved ice was also flavored Tangerine as well. Despite the picture, it was a pretty large serving deserving the price. It was great quality, and all the condiments were nice and fresh. I felt bad at not trying the pie slice at the time, but the shaved ice was worth the trip. Do note that it takes a bit to make, and I understand why upon the layer and layers of goodness. This was a wonderful find that my friends and I will definitely go to whenever we are eating in Kapahulu. Please support local!

The smell of baking hits you as you open the door. Smells good in here. The people are really friendly, talking with the customers.To be fair, I tried my husband's pie and my friend's shaved ice. If I had gotten those, I woulda did 5 stars. I wasn't crazy about my cupcake. I was peer pressured to quickly decide, so I chose too quickly.The music is nice in here. I appreciated how clean the eating counter felt at the end of the day. Very nice place that is tucked away. Hidden gem. I hope to come again and not get a cupcake!

Cute little place in Kilohana Square in Kapahulu that you wouldn't know was there unless you happened upon it. The same location as Threadfin, so could be a dinner and dessert follow up or dessert before dinner kind of thing . Quite a few options for ice cream cake by the slice, ice cream cupcakes, shave ice, and ice cream. Wanted to try a slice of cake, but decided on Coffee & Bailey's ice cream. Came with two scoops ($5)...love liquor ice cream that you can actually taste the liquor. One bite and yup, there it was.There is a small seating space along the window to dine in. But, this place might be more like takeout or at least sit in your car to eat. There was a big group of 8-10 people when we went, so it was very crowded inside, making it a challenge to look at the case and navigate to get in and out. Still it's a good place for dessert, as they're open until 8 or 9.Will be back to get me some cake!

After my accidental encounter with this place I was determined to go back and order a ice cream pie...ordered the sampler pie for a get together and everyone was raving about the ice cream pie. It was the queen arriving, the variety of flavors had something for everyone. so we ended up cutting small pieces so we could all try a flavor.This place is tucked away in Kilohana Square, plenty free parking (thats hard to find today). It's a small operation when we got there only had the owner and husband, she was busy in the back but came up as soon as she could, I knew I was going to order the sampler and wanted to try the cakes but they are huge so ordered cupcakes (little did I know it was ice cream with cake) it was so so yummy had the black forest. She asked how did I hear about them and I said nana ai. You won't get a warm and friendly vibe walking in (or could be I came after the holiday rush and they were exhausted) its a small business but her pies and cakes won't disappoint, I'll be back to try more of her items.

Hb baking finally has a brick and mortar in kaimuki! They are a little hidden within a building complex but if you're familiar with the old ojisan and Calvin and Susie's then you're in the right place! They're actually right next to the dog salon. There's lots of free parking available in front of your store when you drive in. I think they've been open here for several months now, but have been in business for a very long time. They were in Jolene's in the past in Chinatown. I came and tried a ice cream cupcake. I don't remember how much it was since I came sometime last year but I remember it wasn't more than $5 it was the perfect portion and super yummy. They now have some treats for your doggo too! That's so fun that they can twin with you! They also allowed me to bring in my dog for a bit and what's funny is they had a place mat with a doxie inside too they are doxie lovers! Service was also quick and friendly - they're husband and wife duo. They also make some cute holiday themed stuff sometimes too!

My family is absolutely obsessed with this place. We'd usually just get the basic Oreo ice cream pie from wherever we could find, but quickly grew tired of it. We tried this place and never looked back! We've gone back over 6 times now and recommend this place to all of our family/friends! We are in love with the snuggy bear pie, but have recently tried the all flavors pie, which was so delicious! Flavors are amazing, not too sweet & a combination of smooth and crunchy! The owner is very sweet and nice as well! The shop is cute and feels welcoming. Give this place a try!!! It will not disappoint.

What is the best thing about this place?The pies?The cakes? The scoops? The service? The super duper wildly cute extremely tiny but still very functional pink truck? The jury is out. But they are allllllll amazing. Private events, cute shop to have a snack at, and the food truck. It's so wonderful and all good places for this amazing sweet treat. So the flavors. Didn't know about this shop. Its hidden along Kapahulu ave. We got an assortment of slices for a dinner we were attending. Everyone enjoyed the desserts and asked where it was from. The owners were very nice. Prices are worth the desserts. Definitely will go back.
