Hot new spot you NEED to try!Every single dish we tried was packed with flavor & had us excited to try the next one! We were seriously saying "wait this is so good" every single time we took a bite We ordered the calamari, soft shell crab, roti, buttery eggplant, Tom yum fried rice, and the massaman curry of chicken. The first thing we tried was the calamari, and the tom yum fried rice. The calamari was good, but a pretty small portion. We loveddd the tom yum fried rice, it was very sweet for fried rice & packed with flavor! The buttery eggplant was surprisingly impressive for literally just eggplant. It was seasoned & cooked perfectly with fried basil on top. We thought it would be a wrap since it was under the "wraps" section of the menu, but it ended up being so good on its own! My favorite was the soft shell crab & roti! The soft shell crab was so crispy and had the perfect texture! I was hesitant because I've had some soft shell crab that was definitely not as good as this one. Not to mention, it had a perfect kick of spice & plated beautifully. The roti was also very buttery & crisp. It was a little on the saltier side if that isn't your thing, but it was perfect for us! our server was amazing & the restaurant was small and pretty quiet! We had to find street parking.. but come early and it should be fine. Restaurant was easy to find with the cute bright sign outside!! Seriously so excited to come back. I will be back.

Came to China town one night and stumbled upon this restaurant. I was with my fam, it was late and we were hungry so we decided to check this place out. It was packed but they had a table available, it was 9 pm after all!! We ordered a couple of items, pork neck I think, fried fish, fried rice, lechon, Thai tea, lychee tea, bbq chicken. Everything was SOOOOO flavorful and ono!!!! My fave was the pork neck(i think that's what it was) cause the dipping sauce was the million dollar dip! It was spicy and vinegary but the spice has a bite and gets stronger the more you eat it. I hate spicy but this was a good spicy! The waiter was so sweet and she suggested to try it because we thought we might not have ordered enough. We basically killed everything cause it was that good!!!My only feedback is for the to go box. We ordered to go for my sister since she was home. They packed up our food in a paper bag, but we also had left over fish from our dinner, so we asked for a Togo container for the fish. It's an awkward shape to wrap but the waiter gave us a paper box that was used. She told us that she used it for the other fish that we ordered for take out but how would we know that if she didn't do it in front of us. I would suggest just giving us a new one or foil... so that was a little off putting. The ambiance is giving Thai street food vendor lol. They had a cute art wall with a huge mural of a people sitting on chairs eating their food. It felts like a hole in the wall but not really. I love the neon light in the front. Also idk if it was the owner who greeted us but he was funny! Would definitely come back here!! 10/10 recommend!

I should off by stating that I used to work at a Thai restaurant so I know Thai food pretty well, but know nothing about their street food! I had really high hopes for this place cause of how cute its aesthetic is and how home-feeling it is. One thing I'd like to note is that this is BYOB. I wish I knew that! My friend and I made reservations on a Wednesday at 7:30 and there were only a couple other parties there as well. We were immediately greeted, sat, and helped. There menu was quite big and we requested a few recommendations, but ended up ordering the beef cheek panang curry, beef tongue, chicken satay, and the thai tea pudding.I really like the flavor of the panang curry, but the beef cheek was marinate is sort of sweet sauce so I felt like the flavors were definitely crashing. The chicken satay was great and something I would order again. The beef tongue had great flavors, but was a bit chewy. One thing I really didn't like though was the dessert we ordered. It had a cute moo deng ube pudding on the top, but didn't have much flavor and the texture was like extra firm tofu. The pudding itself also had a weird gritty texture, I'm not sure if we had the bottom of the thai tea pitcher. To summarize my meal, service was great, but I don't think I will come back for the food.

SingSing is a hot and new restaurant in Chinatown. It's marketed as Thai street food, but there are definitely some other southeast Asian inspired dishes on the menu, like Singaporean chili crab. Apparently the chef worked for awhile in Bali. Parking is on the street and Chinatown street parking can get a little tough to find. The muni lots are always a pretty safe bet because they're relatively affordable and plentiful in Chinatown. We talked with the owner for a little. She was really nice and explained that her husband cooks. They're also open 7 days a week. They're also open pretty late (until 10.... But the owner hinted that they allow people to stay later). It's kind of a small space with about 10 tables and a small counter area. I'd highly recommend reservations because they are popular, particularly with tourists which I thought was interesting. We happened to get lucky and walk in early enough to score a table on a Saturday, but the host kind of warned us we'd have to eat fast. I liked the communication and felt lucky that we were able to dine there. It's byob btw so plan for that...We ordered a bunch of things: the pork neck, the pork ribs, the shrimp salad, the school of fish and the softshell crab. The portions are a little on the smaller side which means you get to try a lot of different things if you come with a group even if 3 or 4. Literally everything we ate was delicious. The pork ribs had this sweet sauce and was sprinkled with orange wedges and pomegranate seeds. The pork neck came with this really delicious chili sauce. The school of fish were crunchy and addicting. The soft shell crab had a perfect Singaporean chili crab sauce and the shrimp salad had a mix of greens I don't think I've ever had before. Don't forget about dessert. I don't even like rice pudding, but I'd get the rice pudding here again. It was black rice pudding and it came with ice cream and lychee. It was delicious. Everything was. I feel like I say this all the time, but this might be my new favorite restaurant!

Parking is street parking I don't remember the hours but can be tricky. But there is a garage by Smith and Kings. The feel of the place feels like very casual. You can feel it's a family owned placed. The service here is excellent. The owner and his wife make sure everybody is getting everything in a timely manner. The food here is very flavorful. You can taste the flavors that are infused with each dish. No disappointments here. From the appetizers to the entree to the desserts. Would come back to try more things from the menu.

Late night eats in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii...We searched our Yelp apps for a place that we could all enjoy, and found -SingSong Thai Street Food. This is a Hot New Business with colorful decor, attentive service, and ethnic fare!I got the Grilled Prawn Salad which was a bit spicy for me. However, the prawns were plump and tasty!I'm glad we had a chance to try this fun place together!

Recommend! Everything we ordered was so tasty. The staff were really helpful with recommendations. Everything we ordered, our waiter had recommended to us. My favorite dishes were the pork neck and the school of fish. But really, I think it's worth trying any of their dishes. There is spice to certain dishes so make sure you let the staff know if you do not like a spicy food. BYOB! Simple cute restaurant in Chinatown. Street parking or parking structure options (municipal parking)

On the search of the previous owner of Opal Thai brought us to SingSing. To our dismay he has sold the restaurant and will be returning to his beloved hometown of Thailand Chang Mai in the next couple of months. It is very obvious in the restaurant the diners came to see him and eat his food. He has a tremendous following. Now owned by a husband and wife, flavors of the Thai street food resonates in the dishes but nothing replaces the hospitality and relationships of a chef and their customers. My hope is that we see that hospitality come in time with the new owners. Ambiance tries to replicate Thailand street style feeling of comfort. Best to dine with friends or have a romantic dinner. Shared plates and enjoying each other's company. Our party of three rated the following dishes:***** Pork Belly Salad**** Panang of Beef Cheek**** Beer Satay**** Soft Shell Crab**** Koa Kling Wrap*** Curry MeatballsCurry Meatballs had a dry texture however combined with soy sauces tastes better. Turmeric Rice was good neutralizer to tone down the hot spices even when some of our party was avoiding carbs.

Fun bites...The name basically says it all as it's Thai Street Food and you can find them on Smith Street which has lots of street parking but there's a lot of biz in this part of town as well so finding one can be the biggest challenge. You can see the vibe here is just vibrant with the blue painted storefront with bright "SingSing" neon sign and a Shaka Hippo/Moomin looking character greeting you already has brighten this part of downtown especially late at night.Walking in every part of this restaurant is so fun and vibrant as if you're transported to a fun part of Thai the host stand has a fun and colorful decor while the waiting area ha some origami goldfish while the main dining room has a huge pics of locals eating is a fun play of what this place is all about I'd take pics but it was filled with guests that I didn't want to force capture to post. Our server is a sweet young girl that was very patient and answered our question with knowledge of the menu items to the best of her knowledge and description though many of the items does say chili and has some sort of spice it wasn't crazy spicy but does have great flavor using various spices was nice.No noodles are found here unfortunately but lots of various bites in various forms so it was the "Beef short rib fried rice" which menu description of "with pineapple onion jalapeño raisin cilantro and mozzarella" sounded very intriguing it didn't really come through like that for me...struggled to find that flavor profile and there wasn't much heat for me personally but it did taste good and enjoyed it regardless.Same Same But different is another neon sign decor is just exactly that a new type of street food is found right here in downtown is a great vibrant spot where more is merrier and still new and ready to celebrate its grand opening soon is something I'm looking forward to.Thank you!

Hubby and I unexpectedly found ourselves in Chinatown on a Friday night, no plans in sight. We wandered over to check out the newest restaurant in the area, hoping that the wait to snag a table wouldn't be too long. What a surprise to find an almost empty place, just two occupied tables, with both groups halfway through their meals. I predict that this will be the only time we find an immediate seat in this soon to be lively space. The walls are still somewhat bare but there are bright touches of thai textiles and neon signs. Sing Sing has dedicated itself to bringing Thai street foods to a sit down restaurant, and the decor plays on the light and color found at a market stall. The flavors in the dishes we tried were vibrant and new, and the service was truly spectacular. I have no doubt that this will continue as they settle into a routine.Rather than order larger entrees we decided on a sampling of the smaller plates. We began with a bowl of sweetly pickled cabbage leaves, light and crunchy. A few bites later our next plate arrived, the Koa Kling wrap, which were lettuce cups filled with minced meat and spices. A bit greasy but delicious, and the perfect companion to the thinly sliced pork neck which was next. Chicken satay was tender, and the peanut sauce was thick and just spicy enough. I thought that the beef carpaccio was destined to be my favorite with its bright citrus and earthy peanuts, but that was before I tried the grilled turmeric squid. I love squid, and order it every chance I get, and I've never had such a tender and juicy preparation as I had at Sing Sing. It was a true delight, and one which I will order every time I find myself at their doorstep. We finished our meal by sharing the black sticky rice in coconut cream, an eternal favorite. It was a great way to reset our tastebuds, but dessert here should only ever happen if you are truly craving a sweet ending, as I'm positive you'll be happier ordering another dish of something more exciting. The menu here is large, and filled with very interesting takes on old favorites alongside a slew of dishes I've not seen anywhere else on Oahu. So welcome to the neighborhood, Sing Sing! I'm looking forward to a return visit soon. There are so many things I'm looking forward to sampling with friends!
