What a treat it was to have Luis cater my 50th birthday. It was 10 years ago that he was recommended to me and it was my 40th birthday and his food was incredible. We didn't know Luis had started up his new business. I thought he had disappeared after the whole Luis Bueno fiasco. So glad I looked for him and that he was able to cook for my 50th. Luis knocked it out of the park! Everything was delicious! We had carnitas, carne asade, fish tacos, chipotle, red, verde salsa, queso fresca, ceviche, homemade corn tortillas, chips and guacamole, and of course, Luis' famous refried beans. I hope to get him to cook for us again. It will definitely be sooner than 10 years from now :)

Luis created a beautiful dinner for our friend's birthday celebration! It was an exciting culinary experience to have Luis cook for us fresh and delicious grilled chicken and carne asada with amazing homemade salsas, rice, black beans and guacamole. A pleasure to work with, I would recommend Luis to any friend! Mahalo!

Cheeeehoooo!!! Luis Silva & his team are ROCKING!! Not only is the food high quality, fresh & satisfies any palette, he & his crew are so organized & professional! Coordinating any event can be chaos (trust me; I've done my fair share!) & there's nothing like knowing the crew you hire is ADAPTABLE to the "unexpected:" like special dietary requirements or an additional 50 event crashers Luis & his team hosted a huge private event & provided bar service, appetizers, hosts & servers, plus a full buffet spread (from scratch taco & enchilada set up). Loved the chimichurri kebabs & the green salsa was on point! Absolutely: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SILVA EVENTS for your event coordination, private chef & other special needs, especially on the North Shore of O'ahu. Chef Luis came to our house last night to prepare an intimate dinner for me, my wife and my parents who are renting a home on the North Shore. Everything from start to finish was outstanding. He genuinely out-did himself. The shashimi and poke starter were the best we have had on the island so far and we have been to pretty much ever restaurant in the area. From food presentation, to taste, to shear uniqueness of the dishes, this was a perfect evening. In fact, we already arranged for him to come back next week after my parents have departed, but other friends have joined us at the house. He really brought his A-game and I think everyone should splurge and try out his services.

If Yelp had 10-star ratings, I would eagerly give that high of rating to Silva Events Hawaii! Luis Silva catered an exquisite private event for me and my sister at a friend's oceanfront home on the North Shore, for a total of about 30 people.The menu he prepared for us included a variety of delicious appetizers (sashimi platter, cheese platter, and chicken teriyaki skewers), a main course dinner with 2 entree options (mahi mahi and beef medallions, plus grilled vegetables, green salad with homemade papaya dressing, and brown rice), followed by dessert (macadamia pie, chocolate pie, and fruit platter). The food was fresh, beautifully seasoned, and full of flavor.Luis also made sure we had a beautiful set-up of tables and seating on the deck overlooking the ocean. He referred an amazing floral designer to us for flowers -- big shout-out to Julie Lock of Paruhi -- who knocked it out of the park with her beautiful arrangements, stunning leis, and orchid petals. The setting could not have been more beautiful, thanks to them both.Luis brought a staff of four with him, and they were the most professional and kind people. Their presence and their attention to detail made our event so special. Luis went above and beyond our expectations, and we can't thank him enough for making our event so special and memorable. I want to close by mentioning that we live on the East Coast and we worked with Luis to plan this event from afar. Everyone who attended (from the main land and from Oahu) made a point of letting us know how spectacular it was, which was due to the amazing efforts of Luis, his staff, and Julie. After reading his impressive bio on his website (featured Chef on Anthony Bourdain's, No Reservations), we hired Luis to create a celebration dinner for our son's engagement at a private vacation rental on the North Shore of Oahu. From beginning to end, the experience was phenomenal. Luis took the time to visit prior to the event to be sure he captured our vision. We left for a family photo shoot (turned surprise engagement) on Papa'iloa Beach in the late afternoon and returned to a setting that was nothing short of magical. Luis greeted our newly engaged couple with flower leis (his idea!) and we walked onto the back deck to view the most beautifully decorated setting: tiki torches, twinkling garden lights, dozens of candles and a beautifully set table complete with tropical flowers. Dinner was exquisite! An appetizer of avocado stuffed with the most fresh-tasting ceviche, delicate salad with papaya vinaigrette, tender ribeye with a wine reduction, grilled veggies, complimented with cilantro/lime cauliflower rice. A spectacular cake with fresh strawberries and dazzling, sparkling candles was the grand finale to the most memorable dinner! Vision, service, attention to detail and thoughtful, skilled presentation... all 10-stars! All this and you will absolutely love working with him. We hired a chef and gained a new friend. He took the time to give my husband great insights into the local surfing scene and upon his recommendation we spent many happy hours at a local surf competition. Luis is a class act.
