I remember going to the Kahala Hotel and buying their chocolate mac nut chocolates. They were so good. Now, you don't have to go all the way to Kahala. They have a shop at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. It's the Kahala Hotel, so it's going to be pricey. It was $38 for a small box. I believe I paid $26 a while back at the hotel. I'm not sure if they had an increase or it's just more at this location. They also sell teas, coffees and cookies here. They also have a collab with Hello Kitty. There were Hello Kitty plushes with the Kahala Hotel logo on it with their signature blue. They were adorable.

Excellent selection of real old-school aloha. Good service and a large selection of traditional and modern Hawaiian shirts.

It's funny sometimes how I learn about things, even when a five-hour flight away. I saw a video from a local news channel and was captivated by the interview and introduction of this business (https://www.khon2.com/video/signature-by-the-kahala-opens-in-waikiki/8591087/ ). I couldn't help but call to get more information. After hitting a few snags, my friend who works in the area stopped in and helped me place an order. My friend kindly helped me place the order and gave them my info (shipping address and payment info). It took a little while but the manager Maria helped me stay on top of things in getting my order which came by FedEx. It was nicely packed in a FedEx box and packed very well. I read the box instructions very carefully in learning that the best way to store them would be to find a cool, dry place as I get to them. Most of the boxes were for gifting to friends but you know that I must indulge too. I started with the guava strawberry mac nuts (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=h3bVHZfQ7AWxWiJpGANm5A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) on the advice of my helpful Oahu friend; the flavors are certainly there is you like that fruity flavor and, as mentioned in the video, those nuts are not your ordinary store bought variety. The other box that I opened was due to my leaning towards this flavor for sherbet and Taiwanese snacks, the pineapple mac nuts (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mdyb-9A0_sUmSxWOkrOi1w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the flavor is not as sweet but you certainly get that pineapple essence here. One friend who received her gift opened her box of the lilikoi mac nuts (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=60iDuIVDjmj7-poV6ABx3A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and shared a few pieces with me. Surprisingly, this might me my favorite right now as it had that sweetness but the tang from the lilikoi (passion fruit) that made it a bit interesting. I still have a few other flavors that I bought and have yet to try since I can only afford (waistline) to eat so much at a time. Looking forward to hearing reactions from my friends who will try this and looking forward to trying other flavors. If you're in Waikiki, it's a good opportunity to get a taste of Kahala without having to go to their property.
