My go to spot whenever we get visitors from the mainland or just want to eat local food. They give a lot. Yeah!!!Service is great!!!Ambiance is.....not too loud. Love this place....

Food: 5/5 | Service: 3/5Side Street Inn is definitely my boyfriend's favorite spot in Hawaii, and after this trip, it became a favorite for my whole group too. We went with a group of four and ended up ordering just three dishes--yes, the portions are that big! We got the fried rice, fried chicken, and beef ribs, and it was plenty of food to feed three men and a big woman like me, lol.The only downside? The service felt rushed. Before we were even seated, the server let us know there was a two-hour dining limit, which we totally understood--it's a busy restaurant, and that's a reasonable policy. But what I didn't appreciate was the constant reminders to hurry up and order. After just 10 minutes, the server came back and told us we only had 1 hour and 30 minutes left, which felt unnecessary.Overall, the food was fantastic, but I wish the service had been a bit more relaxed. Still, I'd come back for that fried rice and beef ribs any day!

This is a great local dig that will satisfy your savory taste buds with big portions - so come in hungry! We walked in right at Happy Hour which had smaller plates for a good price which allowed us to try more options, which was a neat change of pace from the usual big portion style plates. Nothing wrong with that either-- just be sure you brought your family and friends too -- cuz you're not finishing all of it by yourself. (Or maybe you are. I'm impressed!)The favorite for us was the fried chicken. Bam! Another strong favorite was the fried rice. Bam! Bam! Everything else was also good too so - you really can't go wrong with this place.The service was fast, ohana like, and hard working. Tip your waiter for sure.The ambiance is busy and packed with families who are visiting, local, and some tourists. The place is my parent's favorite and I gotta say I really love the food here too. Nice one!

Hadn't been to Side Street in ages but we had out of town guests so wanted them to try. It was busy and didn't know they take reservations but we waited less than 30 minutes. We ordered the garlic chicken, signature fried rice and boneless beef ribs. Everything was fantastic! As usual we had leftovers for the 4 of us. Can't say which was the favorite because everything was great. Our waitress was nice but didn't come around as much as we wanted especially when we asked for chop sticks. The hostess in the front, who was superb, saw that I was looking for our waitress and promptly brought them to us. She did a great job working the reservations and moving customers on the waitlist. No question about returning because it's a local gem!!

Attended a huge family dinner here and this restaurant has set menus for parties this large so I got to try a little bit of everything!Think of a sports bar crossed with Korean comfort food. We had all of the popular menu items. I was super impressed with the fried rice, the chicken wings, and the boneless galbi. The pork chops were a little dry for me but not bad.Service was friendly and everything came out fast! This restaurant is great for large groups and if you're looking for somewhere to drink and eat some fried foods.

Not gonna lie. This place looked sus when I came here the first time a year ago. There was no way you could convince me that this place was good. You have to valet your car if you drove. It feels a bit hidden. The elevator is small and doesn't look safe. And when you walk in, it doesn't have the energy I've seen in other places. But let me tell you...The moment that first plate hit the table. I was a believer. I knew it was going to be 5 stars. The plates are big and it's meant to be family style. Each plate is about 25ish dollars each. And each plate was so delicious, I wanted to lick it clean. Over the two visits, I might have ordered every meat off of the menu. Some of the ones I would absolutely recommend include:Fried chicken Boneless kalbi Fried rice The drinks are okay. The staff are hustling. With the amount of people in the place, it makes sense. There's also sometimes a backlog of food leaving the kitchen because the place is packed. The bathroom requires a code where you can find posted around the place or just ask the wait staff. After the first time I went last year, I made it a point to come back here the first night I was back in town. 6 stars if I could give it. Don't sleep on this place. Bring a full appetite and enjoy some of the best food I've had on the island.

Decades ago we would go to the Ala Moana restaurant but this was our first time here. We tried once before but the parking attendant said 5 pm. We were too early.8 of us arrived after a Dance Showcase ended after 7 pm. Lots of customers on long tables but not packed.We got the family style package and there were even left overs. Our food came out promptly. Our server was attentive. We asked for another ketchup in a small paper round ( since grandson double dipped) but server said it wasn't possible.The French fries were a hit with the kiddies. I liked the fried rice and salad. The edamame, pork chops and kalbi(abit charred) were okay.An option to bring a group to eat last minute if you're in the Kapahulu area.There was a group leaving from another room. Grandson got up and went to hug his pediatrician Such a nice man he came to our table and connected with everyone.What a nice way to welcome the holiday season, granddaughter's performances and seeing Dr. Sumida.Season's Greetings every one.

I always love to get a group of people together and eat side street, there isn't anything on island that is the same. I just wish the ala Moana location was still doing its lunch plates, it's hard to get my fix if I have a craving and it's just me. This last time I did takeout at least with friends and it was good to do the ohana pack which was pork chop, garlic chicken and the fried rice. We then added on the salad and brownie crunch. Ideal place for a large party, just make sure you make a reservation.

Great service! Held a surprise birthday party for 30 people and our server was attentive, quick and accommodating. The entire staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place for gatherings
