Shiro's Saimin Haven & Family Restaurant

This was a classic way before I was born and this will always continue to be a classic!It's been a few years since I've been back home in Hawaii and I'm glad this place is still just as good as I remember!

Dine in area is clean. Roughly 12 tables. Not as comfy as Aiea location. Friendly staff. Roast beef with gravy was very tough. Difficult to cut even with a steak knife. Gravy is flavorful. Instant mashed potatoes. Very small scoop of corn. I'd rather frequent Aiea.

Food was as ordered nothing fancy just some tasty Saimin and a bacon and lettuce sandwich. It hit the spot no at home chillin and relaxing

Located in Ewa Beach, we were in the area and decided to stop in to eat. The food is good, service is good and fast. If you're looking for some where that serves close to home cooked meals, come here:)) I didnt care for the adobo, as it had too much gravy for me and im not used to this style of adobo, but my husband said it was okay. Their lumpia was yummy along with their potato salad. I normally dont eat potato salad from any restaurants, but ai ended up stealing my husbands and ordering another one, HAHA. The saimin hit the spot for me:))

After getting a massage, I needed comfort food. What better place to go than Shiro's? I ordered the Wun Tun Min with Char Siu and they are GENEROUS. They packed the bowl full of noodles, wontons, and char siu! The broth was flavorful, a little salty but nothing that I would complain about. Sometimes chicken broth can be plain, so I don't mind the salt. They offered to-go as they were doing some renovations inside during the time we went. For the price and quality of food, I think Shiro's is awesome and a must-go. I would definitely come back here again!

This is my favorite Saimin restaurant I have been eating here for decades the food is still delicious and affordable for families the service is excellent

Their saimin is always so good. The portions are amazing. They could satisfy anyone who enjoys Hawaii's very own locally made, saimin. Which is one of the very few places left, still around today. If you're not into eating just saimin, they also have a variety of local plate lunches. Which has been crafted and made out of many popular foods. Which is among Hawaii's diverse culture of its local people and cuisine. Highly recommend. **I ordered the large Dondonpa saimin, along with their own island favorite..Lilikoi passion drink. Which is such a good drink.

Was brought here by a friend. Looking at the decor of the Ewa Beach location I was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The service and food were great. I loved the large number of options available.

Roast pork plate... Loaded gravy, 3 small scoops rice and 3 thin pieces of roast pork (kinda like small teri beef) Taste was average, just small portion Chicken Katsu / Fried noodle plate... Choke fried noodles, flavor nothing special... 2 small pieces of chicken Katsu... For $16?! Fricken kidding me. Better off going somewhere else. Forget the nostalgia. Tried to support local but Shiros never ever again...

Sorry! I had to write this! I purchased a Liver with Bacon and Onions, for my Wife I purchased a Beef Cutlet plate. In Hawaii it is Common to order extra Scoop Rice, and Mac Salad. It is also common to order Gravy All Over, which I stated clearly to the Counter Lady. There is a Sign on their Window that says to check your order before leaving. My complaint is that I never got the extra Rice or Salad, thinking they would add it in I was told by the Lady, I'm sorry we don't do that"??I ended up shrugging it off! The Customers behind me whispered "That's Bullshit."I was okay actually, extra Starch not really good. But... the real reason for this is my Wife's Beef Cutlet with Gravy all over. Gravy - NADA, Nothing!!! Just breaded Strips of Beef thinner than 1/64" of an inch! The Breading was 1/4" !What's going on SHIRO'S? Shame on you!
