Shiro's Saimin Haven

This place was the bomb! Came here with my parents and son, and were seated right away despite how busy they were (almost non stop diners walking in).The menu was extensive and they have a whole bunch of saimin dishes! I went with a combo that came with one stick of Teri beef (so I could sample both the saimin and Teri beef). I also got the green river float, which was a nice dessert drink.The food was delicious, and the ambiance was casual/ local. My son enjoyed the bits of saimin noodles and egg bits.The staff were all friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back to try the other items on the menu! Check em out!

Popped in for lunch as haven't been here in ages. The order:-Teri Beef Plate-Side Mac Salad-Cup of Beef StewThe good: They still have one of my favorite Mac salads creamy & noodley goodness. The cup of stew was delicious and homey, if you like meat they load be meat. Wish there were more veg as was trying g to get son son some veg. The not so good:I've always loved their teri beef and putting sauce all on the rice. The sauce is still that sweet umami goodness. The Teri beef though.....wooof it was chewy and tough. Which is why the review is not so well on this trip. The main reason I came here was a disappointment today. The server was quick and food came out in swift fashion.

Located in the Waimalu shopping center near Palama market and Canjun crab is shiro's Saimin!They have so many style la and choices of saimin besides other local food items, it is like going to basket and Robins I've cream with so many choices.The service was great they treat you like you are visiting friends & family!The Teri beef was very tasty and tender.The saimin was done right and the soup base wasn't over powering.The won tun was also good and tasty and the vegetables were fresh and came with slot of garnish.Parking was a little hard to find but it cleared up when we were leaving, because other shops and restaurants started to or was closed.

I'm usually here half a dozen times a year. I went to have lunch after driving for six hours and saw they had a special sweet and sour spareribs plate. I ordered it and the rib meat were exactly that, spare. They were the spare of the spare. The sauce was very funky tasting and was very yellow in color. The meat was wasn't tender as well, whatever meat there was left to spare (pun intended). To add to that the Micronesian lady at the counter completely ignored me for at least 30 seconds when I stepped up to the window. No greeting at all whatsoever or excuse me if she was pre-occupied previously handling something. She definitely needs more training in customer service. I don't think I'm going to come back for a while. Buyer beware, you can do better.

Shiro's synonymous with saimin since small kid time....Located in the waimalu shopping center (Diagonally across cutter ford aiea) the parking can be absolutely packed during meal time hours and you gotta compete with many other eateries for parking.Once you finally do find parking and enter into Shiro's ....The insides is airconditioned and its alot bigger inside than you expect. (Estimate probably seating for 100 people) The restaurant was well staffed and the manager was running the place well....Depending on the time you come (IMO) it can be either real packed or busy but from my experiences never slow....The staff is always cool...the place clean...prices reasonable and food good....Always a nice experience here

Love to go here for the Saimin and the beef stew. It's clean inside and has lots of seats. They accept Apple Pay and credit card here. My go to order is the Saimin with Teri beef burger with side of French fries My hubby likes to order the beef stew bowl to go.

I've been hearing about how delicious this place is so I was curious and didn't know what to expect. To my surprise, the saimin and broth were full of flavor (a little bit on the salty side) and had everything you need in the bowl. It was warm, filled with meats, wonton, cabbage, and toppings such as green onions and egg. The Ron Mizutani special comes with a burger and you would think it's just a regular burger but the bun is served crispy and pairs well with the saimin, definitely try it. This would be perfect for a rainy day, cold night, or any time. They had lots of seating. Servers were very friendly and attentive. Food came out so quickly. We came in around 8pm on a Sunday night and people still kept coming to dine in around 8:30pm; that goes to show this is a favorite local spot.

Shiro's is def a Hawaii staple and a local favorite! Restaurant is pretty big with booths and more seating in the back. A little outdated and old, nothing too fancy about the place. It can get pretty crowded but we never had a problem getting seated. They also accommodate large parties as well. There's plenty parking in the plaza, however, it can get pretty busy and packed especially dinner time or weekends. Their staff has always been the same Aunties, always very friendly and efficient! Sometimes, they even remember what our usual orders are. Our go to orders are usually their loco moco, hamburger steak, wun tun saimin & cheese burgers. Their saimin has saved me from many hung overs lol. And their burger Patties are probably one of the best on the island! Every time we go, I can't just order one thing, I need to order a side of mochiko chicken or fries with gravy or wun tun or beef stew and the list just goes on and on lol. There's just so much variety you can choose from and they're all pretty good!This place is def one of our fav local comfort food spot and we're looking into coming back here again and again.

A classic! Must try if you're in the area for good local comfort food! We always get the fries with gravy! Fantastic! Service is always good and fast.
