Have you ever wanted to learn how to belly dance? Do you like dancing to middle eastern music, Shakira, etc.? Do you wanna feel super-sexy and have fun getting in shape at the same time? Then Shimmy Fitness is just for you!The Shimmy Fitness instructor, Malia, will teach you how to pop those hips, shimmy those hip scarves, undulate that stomach, and move that veil. You'll be sweating and feeling great in no time. By the next day, you should definitely be feeling the ache. But that's a good thing! The class style is that of a monkey see monkey do kind. She starts the music, shows you some moves, and you follow her lead. She'll take you through the basic moves for that song, and then she'll step it up a notch by doing it all in one movement and perhaps a little faster. One of my favorite parts is when we get to dance with the veils. No, it's not like a wedding veil, it's more like a super-thin drape that you get to dance with. The veil-dancing will definitely work out those arms. You'll be wishing you were back to only hip movements! But then again, once you see your toned arms, you'll be glad you get to dance with a drape!Individual hour-long classes are $15 each, while a Shimmy Pass with 4 classes on it is $50. You get your first class for free either from checking in on Yelp, or going to the Shimmy Fitness website: http://www.shimmy-fitness.com/Shimmy_Fitness/FREE_1st_class.html, or by just calling up Malia and asking her about it. If it's your first time going then arrive 10 minutes prior to class so you will have time to register. When you do decide if you would like to buy a pass, Malia accepts credit cards, cash, or check. Aerobic shoes/dance shoes are allowed, but so are bare feet. Wear cool, comfortable workout clothing, bring a water bottle, and get ready to sweat!Yelp365-#020/365

I typically attend class in a different location but it's not listed... SUPER fun class!!! Malia is wonderful and makes you feel great regardless of body type or experience level. Surprisingly good cardio workout!
