Shay's Filipino Cafe

This is my second time here. I've tried their adobo fried rice which was bomb and wanted to go back and try more! They have traditional Filipino food as well as fusion dishes. We got the mini adobo pizza, lechon sisig fries, ube pancakes, and mongo beans with malunggay leaves. Our server suggested the mongo beans with bittermelon but she said if you don't like bitter, then she suggested the malunggay leaves. The adobo pizza was my favorite! My mom really enjoyed the lechon sisig fries. We both enjoyed the ube pancakes. The mongo beans was okay at first and then it grows on you!I was too full, but next time I wanna try their halo halo. I've actually never really had halo halo before!

Called in my order, was put on hold for 10 minutes.The adobo fried rice was just okay, nothing special, seemed like just rice, soy sauce, adobo cost almost $20 absolutely not worth it! Skimp on the adobo, which was probably best since the pork is chewy.Pork adobo, very tough. Need a steak knife to cut the large flavorless pieces. Cost almost $19 absolutely not worth it.Pork and peas, so skimp on the ingredients! Cost almost $19 not worth it, tiny serving. although the sauce is good there was barely any pork or peas! This was a joke. Shay's is too expensive, with poor customer service.Over $60 for 3 dishes, pork adobo fried rice with mostly rice, tiny serving of the pork adobo and pork and peas is crazy

Parents was craving some pork soup dish so decided to check out "Shay's Filipino food" in Waipio. For me it's my 2nd time only eating at Shay's Filipino food. So not sure what is really good at this Resturant, but let's check out and see "Yah You" So what we ordered on this visit was - *Adobo fried rice topped with scramble egg (it was Okay)*Pork guisantis (good) *BIHON noodles (it was okay) *Pork soup (not bad parents liked it) Service - It was okay they refilled water when needed to, but at times had to get their attention on other requests. Ambiance - pretty good open spot with tables and chairs also they do have a private bathroom in the Resturant which is good for customers who are dining in. One thing I wish had tho when we ate in the Resturant was there AC wasn't working and it was hot like bruh, I mean they had FANS but still buggah was hot ladat. Not to sure how long it has been down. Hope they got it fix already cause kind of hard eating pork soup dish and no AC running in the the spot. Would I recommended this Resturant to other folks, YES I would of course I would. Parking - Lots of parking and free parking so you don't have too worry about parking at all. Posted on 1/2025

Pinakbit was tasty with fresh vegetables, cooked well and not over cooked. I sampled the mini portion ok this visit. I would have liked to be able to sample a mini portion of the lechon Kare Kare, but was told it can only be ordered as a full order. It is a casual, comfortable restaurant with ample seating. The server did mention a 10% discount on my order if I left a 4 star review on Yelp and mentioned the name of the server. However he forgot to introduce himself. Maybe next time.

The service and food was great! I think the location is what's contributing to their slow business. If they were at a different location I think they would do a lot better. That's probably why their rating is where it is. The prices are comparable to Julie'z and Elena's. I'd have to try more dishes to make a better judgement on which of the restaurants is the best when it comes to Filipino dishes. The pizza concept is a new thing I do not think most Filipinos would go for. Because for starch Filipinos are just used to rice.

Family of 4 Enjoyed the Night at this restaurant to build Memories! Yummy Yummy. Family must make a stop here.

The food is uno and same time place is well clean i recommended the place Filipino Cafe

I ordered the Lechon Kewali and it did not disappoin. The food is always good. Wait time is good and the service is good

PORK ADOBO IS BOMBGarlic shrimp had so much flavor. Our big backs will be back for sure :)
