Great atmosphere, food and entertainment!The comedians were awesome. If you're looking for a great comedy show, you'll enjoy it.

I was fortunate to get to attend the Kevin Hughes show last night....it was REALLY FUNNY!....you know how I could tell?? I laughed...and so did my husband!.....Kevin is a very talented comedian who captures the essence of people and does a great job in relaying that to the audience....I was amazed at how much he could talk and talk and talk! If you enjoy looking at the humor of people, you'll enjoy Kevin.Had dinner at Chuck's Cellar next door at the Ohana East....it was all a perfect evening...park your car, have a nice dinner and then on to Kevin Hughes' show...I highly recommend it.!

I bought a Groupon for this show. I paid about $15 for 2 tickets. Bargain? We also had to buy a drink each. Well, the "host" came out and started the show. I felt bad for this woman. She was dressed like a homeless person and worse than that, she wasn't funny at all. She introduced I think 4 other comedians. 2 of the comedians were funny, one was Shawn Felipe and the other was a "Kramer" type comedian. One of them was a little funny and a comedian named Arthur Wayne was not funny at all. He was just creepy. The venue is small and the waitress comes to your table to take your drink order. The night we went, the room was not even half full. All in all, it was a night out.

What a waste of time. Comedians were NOT funny, NOT original, and NOT entertaining. One particular "comedian" told the exact same jokes (not just words, but same vocal inflections and timing) as another particular demonstrator at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Another comedian was flat out offensive and another kept cracking himself up with his own jokes. It was like he was providing his own laugh track to his routine.We made the mistake of buying the combo tickets for both Comedy Polynesia and Sharkey's Comedy Club which we unfortunately discovered had most of the same unfunny comedians.Stay away from this show -- since they are targeting tourists, they have NO incentive to entertain you. They do not expect to have return business. You're better off staying in your hotel room and watching Comedy Central.

It's stay-cation time!Wife and I are spending a few days in Waikiki for her birthday. She dug out an old Groupon she bought a few months ago for Sharkey's. This place is in the Princess Kaiulani Hotel across from the Moana Surf Rider on the 11th floor. We were early for the show and decided to buy a few drinks at the bar downstairs. I got the girliest of all girl drinks--the Tropical Itch. It comes with a cheesy bamboo back scratcher and umbrellas. Wife got the Coffee drink that you would never find at Starbucks. They were cool and let us take our drinks upstairs to the show. There is a one drink minimum which was waived as we had already had a few rounds downstairs.First set was HIGH-larious! Headliner was Bo Irvine. He had the perfect balance of local jokes and mainland jokes. He will be touring the Middle East to entertain troops after tonights gig. The MC Michael made me dance hula on stage as I was one of the few kama aina in the audience. I tried to represent the best I could with moves my friend taught me after he performed in the Merrie Monarch. I'm sure the king would have had my head for this performance. Second set was not as funny. Lots of jokes for tourists visiting here that would make kama aina cringe because we have heard them all like 2 billion times. After all was said and done, I had a few backscratchers as souvenirs and plenty of laffs for the evening.

You need to walk into a comedy club wanting to laugh and let go. Like David L. says, "Just laugh!" I came here with the hubs and got a coupon from the entertainment book. We also got the kamaaina discount ($15). The price was just too good to pass up. There is a one drink minimum, but you don't need to get alcohol. I got a guava juice and it came with pineapple and an umbrella. I always feel cool when I have a frooty tooty drink. The first comedian was a bit rough. I guess it's hard being the ice breaker. After awhile though, the audience started loosening up and we were all crying and rolling on the floor laughing! I even got called onstage with the guy with the flock of seagulls haircut. He was my favorite.

The previous reviewer couldn't be more correct.I was thinking that it was an older comic, older review..... I was wrong.... Stella nailed it on the head.It sucked.

Two stars seems pretty pathetic, but when you read the description for the star rating "Meh, I've experienced better".....well, that hits the mark. Booked this show online for last Saturday night, March 19th, and were really looking forward to something "new & different" to do one evening during our stay in Waikiki.After reading the YELP reviews, we weren't expecting much but still went with an open mind. It's a comedy show, right? You've got to go prepared to have fun and laugh.Still being on mainland time AND being old fuddy duddies, we couldn't do the two show combo with the "Sharky's" starting at 9:30.....Yawn! So we only booked the "Comedy Polynesia" with a start time of 8pm. The shows are only offered twice a week: Wed and Sat. We were told to be there at 7:30. 11th floor of the Princess Kaiulani. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and told to wait on the lanai overlooking the pool, with the live entertainment happening below and the action all along Kalakaua Ave it kept us from falling asleep in the rattan lounge chairs. To be honest, sitting there watching and listening to all the activity below just sealed the deal for me that any hotel NOT on beach front property would be too noisy for our taste. The 30 minutes passed very slowly and we began to have seconds thoughts when at 10 minutes to 8.....there were only 14 of us waiting for the show.At 8pm, they announced it was time to be seated and the "crowd" surged in. To my surprise, everyone had an assigned table. So why be there at 7:30? We sat at table 4, in the front row. Final count before the show started, 17 including us. The lights dimmed and our cocktail host was there in moments to take our "minimum 1 drink order". I wasn't in the mood to drink....but decided that in the interest of getting the most out of a comedy show....it always helps to imbibe just a bit. That not so funny joke or one-liner always tickles the funny bone that much more with a couple beers in you resulting in a steady chuckle and a few audible guffaws. Opening for Bo Irvine was Ken Komoto, whom we thought was the funnier of the two. I won't even try to tell you about their routines, save to say that as with most comedians, they get the best laughs talking about life and the funny things we all see and can relate to. AND they also get laughs over the truly off-color remarks NONE of us would dare say in public. Especially in regard to race and cultural backgrounds. Gotta love comedians, they leave no one unscathed. All walks of life, cultural backgrounds, religion, gender, age....are fair game for their material in order to garner an applause. If you've never been to a live comedy show, don't go if you are easily offended.The bottom line: Were they funny? Yes. The best show we've seen? No. Would we go again? Maybe. Might take the kids next time as it would be something we'd all laugh about....either from the jokes or how "bad" it was. Would I recommend it? Let's just say we've been to Hawaii many, many times. I go back to my original statement in that we were looking to do something "new" one night. So if you don't have any better plans then, yeah....give it a try. But don't come back to me and say, "You said it was great!"Keep an open mind. Go prepared to laugh. Take friends and family with you. Have a few drinks. And I think you'll have a good time.

This place was like a bad dream! The location is in a hotel conference room with weird decorations. The MC was so angry! His jokes were so bad and no one was laughing that he resorted to getting mad at the crowd! All the comics were bad that we were laughing at them not with them. I can't even say that there was a good comic that saved the night! The only good thing about the night were the drinks, I think they make them strong so you can get through the terrible jokes. The tropical itch was strong and it included a back scratcher, but each drink cost $10 bucks. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Go to another club!!!

I've worked that club before and I gotta say, it's a fine establishment considering where they came from. The club as a whole has really grown from the last 5 years and I'm proud to say that I was a part of that. Comedy is subjective, so if you came on an off night hoping to get a laugh while being apprehensive, then you might not enjoy yourself. You gotta just let go! geeez! Just laugh!
