Great price and a decent theater! It doesn't have the fancy reclining seats, but the chairs are very comfortable, and the armrests between seats can be lifted up.Concessions are affordably priced, I paid $9.50 for a large popcorn and small soda. Keep in mind that the concessions close 30 minutes after the movie starts. They only accept credit or debit, no cash for tickets or concessions. There was plenty of parking nearby, only about 15 spots right next to the theater but a larger lot about one block away. The theater was super clean! For $5.00 a ticket, it can't be beat!

I wasn't expecting a lot. I mean, it's a base movie theater. But after a few great visits to this little theater I'be been consistently surprised. - Bring cash ($5/person)! several times I've gone and the credit card machines are down - Concessions close 30 minutes after the movie starts- Get there early!! The movie starts at the time listed, so if you want to see previews then show up 15-20 minutes before the movie should start- Stand up for the national anthem (played at the beginning of each movie)- Keep an eye out for free movie previews in the MWR catalogue. I've seen several movies this way. There's always a line, but have never seen over 60 people in line - Movies tend to go to Sharkey Theater about 3-4 weeks after the premiere date in the theaters If you have base privileges then go! It's actually nice (and I'm pretty picky)

Best deal in town as far as movie theaters go! But you need to have a military ID (or go with someone who has the credentials) to take advantage of this awesome venue. The prices are unreal. $4 for adults. $2 for children 6-11, free for kids under 5. And the savings don't stop there. The food at the concession is also very inexpensive. $6 for two medium drinks and a large popcorn. At the regular theaters, that would probably cost close to $20.And they have periodic free advanced screenings. The best part is that you don't have to go hours before to stand in line to get a ticket. We went just half an hour before they were scheduled to give out tickets, and there only about 15 people in front of us. And when they hand out the tickets, the tickets have seat numbers on them, so it's all reserved seating, and you can go and grab a quick dinner and then come back for the movie. The only drawback is that the line for the concession gets long, since the concession is small and only manned by two people. But that's a minor inconvenience in comparison to the amount you are saving by going to a movie here instead of in the regular theater.

My family and I love Sharkey Theater. I've been to many base theaters around the globe, and this is probably the nicest one I've experienced. The seats are very new, modern, comfortable reclining chairs with cup holders in the arm rests. It used to be free for active duty, but now they're charging $4 for all adults, $2 for kids 6 and up, and kids 5 and under are free. They generally have some sort of kid-friendly movie as a matinee on the weekends. Then they'll have something a little more exciting in the afternoon or evening. I just went there last weekend to see The Tourist with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, and it was excellent. There's a small concession stand inside with very reasonable prices for refreshments. $2 for a "medium" soda that's about twice the size of what you would get at McD's in a "super size."

Oh Sharkey how I love thee so!Sharkey Theater is located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam so you will need either a military ID or someone who can buy the ticket for you. You can't beat the prices of watching a movie here as it's $5 for movies and I believe $7 for 3-D (will have to double check next time I go). The movies are pretty recent and sometimes they have free sneak previews of movies to the first 400 customers. It can be pretty crazy at times, but sounds like Nat N. got lucky so who knows :) I like that the seats are reserved for movie premieres so no one can really hold a ton of seats for family/friends. Snacks are cheap and the soda machine has been fixed so no canned soda. For two people I can buy movie tickets and snacks for the price I'd likely pay for just movie tickets outside. Bathrooms are usually clean. I'm stoked they renovated the women's bathroom to now house 4 stalls instead of 2. Shorter wait time ladies :) The movie theater is never THAT packed and sounds are pretty good so no complaints from me :)

Not a bad movie theater. They should probably keep selling food though at concession during the movie. The lady at the register had an attitude because I wanted to give her more money for snacks. Oh well

Great on the wallet, but...Soda machine is out of order so they sell cans for $1, only had Pepsi and coke by the time I got to the counter, candy selection was poor (bring your own). And, it was too loud for the size of the theater in my opinion. Will go back because its a good way to take my preschooler to the movies for cheap, but will be better prepared next time.

The theater is big, and clearly renovated. The staff could be more attentive, but when you actually have their attention, they are nice. Unfortunately, during my most recent trip I noticed at least one speaker had this very annoying, distracting clicking sound during the whole movie. Also, someone decided to do some storage digging or something during the show, and it was extremely loud (sounded like a lot of banging against the wall and floor) which was rude, unnecessary (what could they be digging for that they need NOW? It's one theater, and the movie was half way through) and sounded like something was probably damaged in the process.Four stars and and not five because the theater just isn't a well oiled machine, when is so easily could be.

Sharkeys had a great homey feeling and it wasn't packed. You can watch the movie comfortably and lowest prices in the island.

It's not the biggest screen or the best seating but they do a lot for the military community by offering cheaper prices for tickets and concessions and offering free movies a couple of times a month.
