Since the previous review, I've switched over to vegetarianism, the prices have increased , Shaloha didn't utilize the Chow Now app, and there was a counter for indoor dining ( with surfboard on the wall ) but the parking ( at least there is parking for customers of the small strip mall ) is still lousy. I got the Hummus Plate - $23.99 - which is portioned for 2 moderately hungry humans. It took me over an hour to finish it all...but I managed it. In all fairness, I was hungry and as stated in my initial review, I can eat like a pig...proven. Hummus, with cabbage, pickled red cabbage, tabouleh, Israeli salad, and all on top of a bed of rice. Two pitas - baked in-house - are included. The Falafel Plate is also a good option. I can attest that the Schnitzel and Shaloha Plates are also excellent. I used to consider the schnitzel my favorite...not a strict vegetarian, I may yet enjoy this on some occasion. Ordered via the app Chow Now...better option for mobile ordering in terms of the business. Parking stalls number about 10, but is shared by 5 businesses and storefront parking is up an incline...not bad when the lot is empty but when full...tight quarters for reverse parking or perpendicular, for that matter.Owner is not as present in the front as previously. Nice guy...a surfer who is originally from Israel. I've found Lebanese and Israeli food in Honolulu...just gors to show what a diverse community exists here.

The food is great. Always cooked well, seasoned well, and tasty. Can't go wrong with a chicken shawarma. Really the only two issues are parking totally sucks; it's a tiny lot on a slant making parking miserable. And as for the food, you get so much food that it's literally at least two days worth. But it comes at a steep cost, over 20 bucks for a standard plate. I really wish they'd just give half the food and charge half the price; while the food is great, I just don't need that much of it and hate eating leftovers. Other than that, it's a great opportunity to try a different cuisine and support a small business.

Food: Yummy food. One of our favorite spots when attending UH athletic events. Shaloha plate is a favorite along with the fried pita chips and hummus. Service: Pleasant and Pretty quick -just 10 minutes after a phone order on a week night. Facility : Not a full service restaurant. No tables. Just a walk-up counter -no seating. Carryout. Minimal parking spots in front. Location: Convenient to UH and across from Chamanade. We will definitely return.

My GOODNESS. the amount of food we got here for lunch! We went right when I hey opened at 11 and were third in line. The food took about 5 mins to come out after we ordered. The girl working was friendly and efficient! It's a very small walk up place, no seating, parking is tight. Prices are reasonable too. First off, this meal was so colorful and hit the spot. Between the two of us we should have split the combo plate and we would still have a meal left for us both! The plates were so heavy and filled up the whole take out box! Plenty of sauces, and the pitas were massive. Pillowy and delectable - best ones I've had. I will come back just for those! Fresh tasting, and looking. Big fan of everything on the plate - zesty and delicious and the flavors went perfectly together. I have to bring my friends and family here. I have plenty of leftovers now! Yay!

Found this place on a whim and knew I had to make a trip sooner rather than later, since I've been dying to have good falafel. Ended up putting a phone order in and got the shaloha plate, falafel pita, and extra pitas (6 count.) They said it would take about 15 minutes, but it ended up taking longer than that, which was fine since it allowed me some time to get there. When looking at some of the photos on Yelp, I noticed that someone weighed their shaloha plate and it was 3 pounds--lemme tell you, they were NOT lying! The bag of food was so heavy, I couldn't believe it! We still have some leftovers, and that's after 3 people split everything. Prices aren't cheap but it's totally worth it based on all the food you get. I might try the chicken shawarma plate next time...don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the falafel, but the chicken shawarma is just a nostalgic dish for me. I got to sample it in the shaloha plate, but I needed more lol. Definitely recommend coming here if you're craving this kind of food. I will be coming back for sure.

I guess it's been two years since I've been here, so an update is in order: The freshness, quality, and flavors continue to be great. No more sandwiches, but I got Shawarma in a plate, and was not disappointed! All the yummy veggie dishes (cabbages and cucumber/parsley) were there, as well as the delicate hummus. Loads of tasty shawarma as you can see in the takeout container pic. There's also rice (not sure if saffron was used to color it yellow) underneath all the meat, which balanced out the flavors in everything else. Pita was soft and comforting as usual. Worth the price for all that you receive!

Food is okay, but portions are good. Service isn't great. The person taking orders looks like she is forced to be there. However, given that there aren't many places to get shawarmas on the island, I shouldn't complain.

Was in Kaimuki recently and stopped in. I was a little shocked at the prices but I was really craving the chicken shawarma plate. Although it was $23.75...it was HUGE and stuffed to the rim and overflowed the plate. It weighed 3 lbs and I'll just say I was eating this for days! Delicious, tasty and fresh. The service was friendly and efficient and reheating the pita bread in an airfryer is a win! Although pricey the portions are really generoua

I have been craving the shaloha mixed plate because for $25 this plate is so heavy and filling. There is eggplant, chicken shawarma, falafel, fried chicken, and a few types of salad. On top of that there is hummus, naan bread and turmeric rice which is delicious. The plate is definitely filling enough for two people. The naan is so thick so definitely be hungry before going. I called in my order but you can also order online. The food was ready when I got there and this is a take out only spot. There is a small parking lot to park in when you go to pick up your food.
