Shaka Ramen

Great service. Open space, nice place. I had The Special (Shio Ramen w/ Bok Choy & Char Siu (perfect size for me, I ate it all), with 2 sides Gyoza & Fried Rice)Oxtail Ramen (added chili powder & chili oil)Fried OysterEverything was delicious. We will totally come back.

Classic menu offers choice or type of noodles either ramen or udon. There's also combo sets, appetizers, fried rice, curry, soups, salads, and kids menu. Black Garlic Ramen broth tasted rich in flavor. Noodles tasted on the lighter side. Few large pieces of char siu, a whole boiled egg sliced in half, kamaboko, some green onions, and generous amount of bamboo shoots. Customer service was on par. Server was attentive, provided ample napkins, and refilled our waters. Lots of tables with chairs. Free parking in Aiea Town Square.

I ordered the special combo: shoyu ramen, mini pork fried rice, and mochiko chicken. The ramen was underwhelming--bland and lacking flavor. On the other hand, the pork fried rice was the highlight of the meal, packed with amazing flavors. The mochiko chicken was also enjoyable, but nothing extraordinary.The ambience was a plus, with a spacious dining area that easily accommodated our group of nine. Plenty of parking made getting there hassle-free. Unfortunately, they don't serve alcohol, which was a bit of a letdown.Overall, a decent spot with some hits and misses. Would I return? Maybe, but only for the fried rice.

Pretty solid ramen spot, I like the location. Lots to choose from and prices are good. My friend and I were the only ones inside at 5 on a weekday. It was quiet inside and one lady was taking orders. Plenty of seating and very spaced out. I had the Kim-chee hoo ramen (I was intrigued by the spice since I love all things spicy!) but I was let down. It wasn't spicy to me at all, it had great flavor and plenty of noodles and Kim chee. I only had 2 small pieces of meat though... a bit of a disappointment.

Cold Winter Days Have Me Craving Ramen & Fried Rice. I've probably visited this place about 7 times. It's my comfort food ramen joint. A Bowl Of Ramen, A plate of Fried Rice & a side of chicken katsu please... Every time I come, the staff is nice. the restaurant is cozy and the food is good. I'll be coming back to this spot for my quick ramen fix.

Felt like eating ramen and remembered about this place located in Aiea Town Square right next door to Young's Kalbi. I ordered the Special Combo which comes with ramen and 1 or 2 choices of entrees:- For the noodles, you can choose between ramen or udon, choice of Miso, Shoyu or Shio broth OR add $2 more if you want TanTan, Tonkotsu, Curry or Black Garlic broth. I chose the ramen with Miso broth. It didn't have too much taste and did not taste like miso.- Entree choices are Mini Curry Rice, Mochiko Chicken, 4-piece gyoza, Calamari, Mini Pork Fried Rice, Takoyaki, Croquette, Shrimp, Fish, Chicken or Spam Katsu. I ordered the Mini Curry Rice and Chicken Katsu. Both were okay...nothing stood out except maybe the katsu sauce...this was good. I was disappointed with the katsu pieces...it didn't look at all like the pics people posted on Yelp or their menu. What I received looked like scraps, it had more batter than meat.For the amount of food I got for $15.25, it's pricey...a little over $5 a dish but I'm guessing it's because you're paying for a variety of food you receive.

Sadly, they are no longer a late night option. Food was good for an affordable price late at night, but we may rarely visit now that their hours align with other options. We pulled in at about 10pm a while back to find them closed. No change in hours on the door, it still said close 11:30. Last week we tried again around 10pm, and found that they had updated the hours on the door to 9:30 close.Update for my update, we made it a point to go before closing, around 8:45. Food is delicious, decent value, very hot and tasty. Ramen combo is much bigger than other places and feels like a full bowl.

Lots of food, great prices. 2 choice is fire Place is amazing and so many choices. Portions are good size and very friendly.

Wow way to be skimpy with the to go order. Normally really hearty any tasty but tonight very salty

We came to Shaka Ramen on a Sunday evening not knowing what to expect. To our surprise, Shaka Ramen provided amazing customer service and quality Japanese food. We ordered the chalamari salad, mini pork fried rice, kimcher ramen, and spicy beef ramen. The food came out quick!
