Scratch Kitchen - Ward

The Brussell salad was surprisingly tasty & the crab were a good size portion. Kailua taco and steak strips were delicious also. Service was good and food was prepped in a timely manner. The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable and clean.

Met Garry Y and partner for dinner here as it was on my list to try. Free parking is available in the South Shore Market garage at Ward Villages and the restaurant is located in the street level on Auahi St. We were seated on a table on the left as they also have bar counter looking into the open kitchen.We decided to eat family style and decided on several appetizers and entrees. One of our selections, Abacargot (Pacific Abalone) was not available. Crispy Smashed Potatoes - ordered original. The potatoes were had a nice crispy crust and came with a side of ketchup. TastyCrispy Brussel Sprouts - had capers, shoyu vinaigrette and topped with Parmesan. Nice crisp and flavors.Mahi Mahi Fish and Chips - beer battered local Mahi Mahi served with a yuzu tartar and green salad. Three pieces of fish which were not large and fries that had a lot of small pieces. This was not a memorable dish.MA-10 Meatloaf - meatloaf was topped with a gochujang sauce, sunny side up egg and garlic rice. This was delicious! Gochujang was a nice complement with a large scoop of garlic rice with steamed broccoli and kim chee. Would order this again.For dessert, we shared the Brulee'd Honey French Toast. It was a sweet bread topped with slices of fresh pineapple and strawberry, whipped cream, shredded coconut, honey, powdered sugar and two large scoops of vanilla ice cream. This was a very tasty and satisfying ending to our meal.Overall, we had a nice meal in a nice casual environment. Service was friendly but a little quirky. We had two waitresses serving our table and they would duplicate actions. One incident was after we ordered with one waitress, the other came and asked to take our orders.

Great brunch spot! The street tacos, loco moco, and ganduli rice are amazing.Service is always friendly & quick, even when there's a constant wait list.

Now that I'm a mom, I appreciate the availability of high chairs, foods toddlers can eat, and the speed at which food is delivered. This place had it all. I got the mushroom grits. Yum. The kidlets got garlic rice and scrambled eggs. Everyone was happy. Free easy parking too!

We just had a smashburger and a birria quesadilla, but what we really wanted were espresso martinis! Scratch's are some of the best! The perfect balance of two elements that we love!!We also shared a seared ahi salad which was alright this time around. Maybe my taste buds were off, but it didn't taste like the last time. We also had the waffle and mixed berries which was delicious! But again, the martinis are our favorite!Service was great! Always friendly and courteous, and they didn't mind how long we were there!Mahalo again Scratch!

Brulee'd french toast and milk n cereal pancakes were amazing!!! Great flavors and big portions. We added eggs. Perfect add on!Our server, Jodi, was friendly and professional. Trendy, casual setting and open kitchen. Highly recommend.

Take us back to Scratch Kitchen! This was our first meal when we touched down in Hawaii. We walked to this location since it wasn't far from our hotel. Upon entering the restaurant, the waitress welcomed us with Aloha and immediately sat us. Everything we ordered was so ono! We all tried the deep fried deviled eggs. Yum! I'm still trying to figure out how they made it. My son ordered the lamb racks. I was super jealous because I took a bite and it was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco with beef patty and gandules rice. He enjoyed every bite. I ordered the lilikoi pork ribs and no leftovers there. We can't wait to come back!

Can't believe it's my first time reviewing Scratch. With it's ever-changing menu and consistent quality food, this place is a staple for me whenever I need a brunch/dinner date with anyone! Recently came here with my best friend to celebrate my birthday (her suggestion) for dinner. I didn't want to order too much since it was on her tab, so I ordered their Pinky Pasta. My best friend ordered Calentado and a side of potatoes and brussels sprouts. First off, our server was sweet and personable. She complimented my tattoos and we lucked out coming in for dinner on a Thursday night so it was super slow. She had time to talk to us and made the night more enjoyable. Honestly, with the times I've been to scratch, service has been on it or if we did have bad service it was because of the kitchen drama (IYKYK).That Pinky Pasta was AMAZING! I took one bite and wanted to order another to take home and eat it again. I mentally booked my next date to come back for it with my husband because of how good it was. I ate it all, but I kinda forced myself since I really loved it. We also enjoyed our sides, great additions to any meals! The Calentado my best friend got was also reported to taste great and another recommendation.

It's been a long time since I've been here but my friend chose this restaurant to celebrate one of my other friend's birthday. We had dinner reservations at 5:30 and good thing we made reservations because by the time we left the place was pretty much filled. I ordered the shrimp and sausage grits and a li hing lemonade. Both were really good. The shrimp and sausage grits portion size was perfect and had great taste. Our server was super exceptional. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and could answer any questions we had. My friend asked about if anything contained nuts and she said nothing has nuts so I'll probably be back again with my son who has an allergy. Surprisingly it didn't seem loud inside even though the restaurant was crowded.

Friendly staff and clean spacious dining area. Plenty of parking located in Ward Center parking garage. Food was perfectly done.
