Wait where are you?Luckily, GPS had me in the right spot. You can tell this places caters to the blue collar workers because of their location and hours. First location is an industrial area in Waipahu with limited hours. If you don't have GPS, look for the yellow sign in the curve. Then after, go buy a phone with GPS. Second they are on a dead end street which is good because you may have to double park but it's not a long wait once you order your food. Menu is limited to local grindz. And once they sell out of an item, don't expect them to make more in the back. Pick the left overs. Everything's to go since there is no seating. Unless you plan to double park and they there. Don't be that guy :)Over three stars. Location is tough unless you work in the area. Food is decent. You end up getting free dessert. And service is friendly. M

i went back to Scoopers after a long, long absence. I remember the last time being here was October 2023! Guess for me, it was the parking situation that sometimes bothered me enough that i bypassed going to see Chimere, the owner... Well today I was there just before 10am and only had one item erased off the chalkboard... but glad it wasn't their sweet sour spareribs... I have had it about three other times there...Why do i like their sweet sour spareribs? Because there are NO: bones, or gristle --- NONE OF THAT!EVERYTHING SERVED ONTO YOUR PLATE, YOU CAN EAT! Now if you looking for local Chinese style spare ribs with vinegar and shoyu and pineapple juice/bits... their version is NOT that... it is more like a mildly sweet bar-b-q style spareribs (maybe with just a little apple cider vinegar). Since I haven't been here in about 13 months, I now see she has a female worker to do the front as Chimere was doing phone orders preparation on the table back in the kitchen... and MAN was there so many she was doing! Because this period of the morning was busy,(i was third in line), the phone rang and rang as i know they were being smashed with orders and our line to order... So if you try by phone, do it BEFORE they open at 9am! usually after they open, there maybe a just a slim chance the phone will be picked up...but you have to understand this in general. People there in person has priority over phone calls (after 9am opening). I asked for half the rice that they usually do and toss salad (instead of their also tasty mac salad) with my favorite, her home made French dressing... This combo just goes well together... no need to 'always' get the mac salad... try get the toss mixed greens as more healthier! i didn't eat my plate lunch until just after noon time (so over two hours later), so it wasn't warm like it was, but it was so very tasty! My plate was empty... again, because there are NO bones or gristle to spit out or remove from your mouth like practically every other place. Applaud Chimere for choosing the type of spare ribs that has no bone or gristle.Of course, the free soft pudding brownie is included with any plate and I so enjoy that... all for the low price of $11 even (if you pay in cash, otherwise if by card transaction, they will charge you the regular State Tax of 1.04712%. I should and will come back more often (once again) to Scoopers Kitchen!You have to try them, and especially their sweet sour spare ribs! This is a walk-up window located in the industrial area of Waipahu. The food is delicious! Many love their roast pork, pork adobo, and shoyu chicken. My favorite is their shoyu chicken! Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Not dry at all.Their prices are also very reasonable for the portions that you get. Each day, they have about 5-6 different specials. It is recommended to go when they open or to call in your order before 9am because they tend to get very busy and also run out of food quickly. They can run out of food as early as 11am. Their hours are from 9am-1pm Monday-Friday, but they tend to close once they run out of food.The service is phenomenal! The Auntie who owns the restaurant is super friendly and has great customer service. If you are Waipahu and looking for a good plate lunch, you should check this spot out.

Last year my friend raved about this place. He was going to bring me a plate but it was closed that day. Sadly, my friend passed away, so I made it a priority to honor his memory by eating at one of his favorite places! Scoopers makes a good plate lunch at a good price. You have a choice of a mix plate (2 choices, $13), regular ($11), mini ($9), or micro ($7). The plates come with a yummy brownie, and the mix plate also comes with a can drink. There's an extra charge for paying with a credit card, but no tax if you pay with cash. This is a good value. We are townies, so going out to Waipahu to get there early (open from 9am until they run out, usually before 1pm) was an event.Today, we tried the homemade hamburger steak, beef stew, shoyu chicken, and baked chicken. Everything was very good. I'm happy we made the drive. I can't say we'd go again (because of the distance from home), but we definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid local-style plate lunch.

I wish I could give them 6 stars. I love their choices everyday. There are definitely regulars who come on the days for mushroom chicken, baked spaghetti, shoyu chicken, laulau. Massive plate lunches like the good old days. Mixed plates over flowing. And the owners are so nice and generous!! You get a ghiradeli brownie with every plate!

Generous portion sizes - even the Mini and Micro sized servings are beyond adequate! The owner allowed me to sample a few options before I settled on the mildly seasoned Beef Curry, served with Rice + Mac Salad. Service was exceptional and ambiance was decidedly and unexpectedly industrial. So many regular customers coming in for their favorite specials!!As everything is already prepared, customers are in and out very quickly. INCREDIBLE VALUE AND QUALITY.

This place is sooo worth it! Such a good price for massive and delicious plate lunches! The mixed plate is worth it. Comes with a brownie and a drink. Such a deal for $13! They give so much food! Their laulau was sooo delicious and their kalua pig is homemade and had a great smoke flavor. Their mac salad is also homemade and tasted good. Their brownie and haupia were good to end the meal with. I couldn't finish the entire thing, so I had 2 meals from this plate lunch! Definitely give it a try because it's so worth it for the price!

Correction: Tax is already included in the price if paying with cash. In any case, you will come out ahead if you're looking for a cheap meal with a dessert for a reasonable cost. I understand they take phone orders too, but you must call early before they open.

Go early! For the price, the amount of food you get, the flavor of the dishes, and the service you are given, this place is unbeatable. Expect a line since only one server but be grateful if there is none. But they can run out of food in a couple hours.
