Only place I know that has a sunset special on certain sushi and entrées, is discounted to up to 50% off! This is rare, especially being in the heart of Waikiki tourist area!The sushi is amazing.I ordered sashimi Trio, single lobster tail, butter, fish, Unagi roll, mango and crab roll. Well their sashimi and sushi are fresh and very high-quality! Consistently high-quality every time I visit which has been multiple times over the last 10 years! I will continue to take advantage of this great deal cause not only is the food good for the service is excellent! Get there early. The Discount is only from 5 to 530 and you must order everything before 5:30! My order came to $135 and that's a discounted price lol! I love the leftovers! We'll go there again and again!

The best steak and seafood joint on Oahu. Started off with the calamari salad, panko crusted ahi, and hamachi carpaccio. Everything was excellent from the crispy calamari to the tasty carpaccio. Ordered the seafood pasta and a 30 day aged rib eye. The seafood pasta came outwith perfectly cooked noodles and the right amount of sauce. The steak was tender and juicy with that great aged flavor. Ended the meal with the apple tart. Oh my...the caramel is to die for. The tart was flaky and the ice cream created a perfect balance of sweet and salty. Excellent way to end a great meal. Stop by and support local!

When I want to impress, I take people here. Miss their omakase meals, but can get a lot of what used to be presented in those.

Asian male manager was great. Our Caucasian male waiter outside was absolutely terrible! Can't even get an order in without him just running away. Not to sound mean, but he ran away before we put an order in and more than once when we were I. The middle of ordering, he's just leave and come back after several minutes. Quite irritating. Food was ok. Remember it being better when they were at Restaurant Row.

Just a few levels up in the hotel, on the 3rd floor, lies Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar. A critically acclaimed sushi bar with a modern vibe and listed as one of America's best sushi bars by Bon Appetite. If you are a sushi lover, Sansei is the place to go! It has many assortments of sushi rolls and freshly cut/cooked seafood just the way you want it. It has a very laid back, casual setting yet transferred us to a seafood-world with our senses immediately getting bombarded by freshly cut fish! Like many popular sushi spots, the main bar had an open framework where you can see the chefs prepare meals. It smelt like a fish market..and that's a compliment because that only means they were serving the freshest of fish! We aren't too much of fresh fish lovers but Sansei really caters to those unsure of their 'fishy' taste! Fish/Seafood of all shapes, sizes, and flavors are served here. However, if you aren't into fish and you're there just to be with a party, don't fret, they have a large menu of other dishes such as steak, lobster, shrimp, chicken, and much more. Sansei's Shrimp Dynamite - Crispy tempura shrimp tossed with a garlic masago aioli & unagi glaze drizzle. (*Award Winner Dish). My husband's choice of appetizer and I'm so glad he went with this dish! The sauce all over the shrimp was so yummy. The flavor is a bit rich for one person so definitely share it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DISH; you will NOT regret this one!Crispy Fried Calamari - served with a spicy Japanese cocktail sauce. I was definitely craving calamari! The saltiness was perfect along with a zest of lemon! It was Landon's first time tasting calamari and he devoured it. His favorite part was the tentacles, surprisingly enough because he really eats anything unfamiliar to him!Maui Style Teriyaki Beef - Marinated & grilled in mildly spicy kalbi. Another appetizer for us. The flavor of this kalbi: oh my goodness! It was so tender and easy to chew - almost melting in your mouth. Every bite was divine!Salmon Dynamite - 4 pieces of California Roll, salmon, Maui onions, baked with masago aioli, bubu arare, unagi glaze. (*Sushi Chef's Special). Reid's choice of his second appetizer, it was his first time tasting fresh salmon and let's just say he still is not a fan of freshly cut. On the other hand, I thought it was a nice, light dish, and the spice was perfect for this salmon. If you're a freshly cooked fish lover this is possibly the best dish to try!Matsuhisa Style Miso Butterfish - a Japanese specialty! Tender butterfish marinated and roasted in sake & sweet miso. My second choice of appetizer. I'm so glad I went with our server's recommendation with this dish. I love butterfish and this is probably the best I have ever tasted, no joke or exaggeration. I even saved some to take home just so I can have it for leftovers, it was that great!Tempura Fried Macadamia Nut Ice Cream - vanilla ice cream, buttery pound cake, roasted macadamia nuts, chocolate-caramel sauce. Our dessert, I can't say much about this...the picture speaks for itself. Oh so delicious! For only ordering appetizers, we were all so full! We can't wait to come back and try other dishes. If you're around Waikiki, definitely check out Sansei Restaurant for a dish or two. The service was great (quite possibly the best service we had at any restaurant thus far!) and we appreciated that our server filled out water at all times (Thanks, Dave!). For parking, it's $12 valet parking with a validation or self-parking was about $5 for 3 hours.

Loved it!! Ask for outside seating. We were there for the rolls but entrees sounded delicious. We only had a 10min wait. Our server was very helpful by recommending items from the menu. Prices are pretty descent and portions are great! The restaurant is on the 3rd floor

I was so very disappointed when the Shrimp Dynamite came to the table and I looked at it and I already knew when at first sight I'm thinking man this looks so dry. And I was 100% right. It was so dry and the shrimp tasted funny . But the funny thing is we were there early to stand in line cause if you eat at the sushi bar there is only room for 10 people . So I got there at 4pm doors open at 515pm for the 1/2 price sushi and we were the first inline and got our food in 5 minutes once we ordered . So I'm thinking these shrimp were pre cooked to prep for people who order this to have them ready Why else would they be that dry and not enough sauce I have ate here several times and ate this each time but by far hands down this was the worst I have ever got sent to me . All the other sushi that I ordered was perfect But no bueno on the shrimp Dynamite I didnt want to complain and have it sent back and remake it. I hate wasting foodBut terrible job last night Sansel

This is our fave contemporary Japanese sushi restaurant with awesome small plates & regular dinner specials. We can always get some kind of fish or meat & the appetizers are so yummy! There's happy hour early & late night specials plus karaoke late at night. Must come here for occasions such as BD & anniversary. Excellent host & hostesses & servers but best of all they have the best manager for DK since they opened doors 16 yrs ago. They're successful because they got the whole pkg!

I've been coming to Sansei since I was little, this past time was so disappointing. Our ramen was almost cold and the rolls were so small. We had really odd fees too. There was a kitchen fee for $7 and a large party gratuity charge (there were only 2 people.

I used to love this place! The food was of excellent quality and reasonable prices, especially if you went for late night happy hour. But gone are the days of late night happy hour (thanks COVID). And now it seems the days of quality sushi are gone as well. We ordered two rolls, which were both hard to eat because they hadn't been rolled correctly and fell apart as we tried to pick up each piece. That was quite annoying. The service is still excellent though. both the hostess and our server were extremely friendly, upbeat, and accommodating of our requests. The menu (and prices), though, have gone through some changes, and not for the better. The only thing that is still delicious is the crab ramen. There's just something about that broth. But, yeah, there's much better sushi to be had in so many other places nearby. I doubt we'll be returning.
