Sorry I don't have any photos it was too good to wait to take a picture! This small little humble place is the best! I think I started eating here since before middle school for me and I'm 32 now! I sometimes get the salad like the grant, south of the market (the one with apples) or the Buena vista. But the reason why I come here is because of that soup. Idk what magic is thrown in with it but every soup is delicious! The sausage and potato soup is amazing but the winner here is the tortilla soup! Like damn, it's sooooo good! Anyone who works at bishop square, downtown should check this spot out! It's a one man show know who I presume is the owner, but he's nothing but friendly and the food is quick. Granted everything is premade but it's downtown people wannna get food and go. But little do they know he actually makes the salads and soups fresh everyday he's open! So get there early because if it's out it's gone try your luck next time or get there earlier

Lunch on a budget and thinking to save on calories equals soup in the downtown area. This place has been here for years. I appreciate that it lasted through the pandemic and wanted to try the tortillas soup again. The staff seemed different and wondered if they changed ownership. I ordered the large soup and saw the man add chips first then add soup but not to the top. There is no seating and this is definitely a to go place so grab your grub then eat elsewhere. Soup tasted like it did 10 years ago, little spicy, tomato, cilantro, cumin and lotsa pepper. Soup is pretty filling but I think you should order a side so you are not hungry again in an hour. Soup was good and included French bread is satiating. Will I be back? Maybe not anytime soon. I think paying almost $10 for soup and bread is a little steep.

This is a take out place, no seating inside. It's nice, lots of salad and soup choices. I love the Tomato Basil Soup. It comes either in a cup or bowl with some bread , size depends on what you ordered. The service is quick, the person in front was very nice and helpful.

Once upon a time in a land far away there was a college student working in a non-profit on Wall Street in New York City who had fallen deeply and madly in love with Hale and Hearty Soups, a build your own salad and soup establishment that left you feeling full and not stuffed. The college student eventually grew up, moved around quite a bit and found herself working for what seems like minimum wage in downtown Honolulu. Still lusting over the perfect soup and salad lunch, this now grown salad enthusiast searched near and far for something to fit the craving.Enter San Francisco Salads. Now this place is NO Hale and Hearty Soups. There is no build your own salads, there is no wide variety of soups, BUT what they do have is freshly made, well prepared salads and delicious soups, even if the choices can be a bit monotonous. Where San Francisco Salads succeeds is in the quality not quantity of their offerings. All salad offerings are named after places/neighborhoods in San Francisco and run the gamut of a regular house type salad to several salad options with chicken to include caesar, oriental, greek, chef's salad, etc. and a salad option with salmon. You can tell the salads are prepared fresh daily and contain quality ingredients. The soup offerings are tomato basil, tortilla, sausage and potato and chicken and wild rice. I have only tried the tomato basil and the torilla soup but both are delicious with the tomato basil being a favorite. You also can select your choice of dressing and bread. Extra bread can be purchased for $1 apiece and soft drinks are also available for purchase. San Francisco Salads is a one man show with who I assume is the owner taking orders, payments and packing orders to go. Despite being a one-man operation, the wait is never too long and service is efficient, though not too friendly. While I'll always miss the make my own salad option of years past, this place is perfection for days I don't have home lunch and I'm not looking to induce a diabetic coma by ordering plate lunch.

Good salads and soups are flavorful. A bit on the higher price scale for salad, but large portions of greens.

Overall: tasty salad for quick pickupParking: downtown so try the Alii parking structure or streetCleanliness: cleanAmbiance: chill pickup lunch space Noise level: quiet (no tables inside)Recommend dish: whatever you like with the sesame dressing Service: friendly Good bang for your buck?: yup, pretty good deal for downtownWould I come again?: yes!Fun tip/fact: just check out what's in the display case to see what he has; never know what he has in stockThis is my go to salad place. Consistently, the greens are fresh, clean, the chicken is low fat, and it's always ready to go. Usually the salads are enough for a meal or two, especially if you paid it with a bread or soup. The owner is also very nice and remembers my order. ~Enjoy!

The owner is a friendly and kind man! He is quick to get your order ready and runs a one-man show. The food is really good and I absolutely love the soup. My favorite is the Tortilla soup which I could probably eat 5 gallons of! The salads are delicious but I usually get the combo (side) salad. If I could order the whole menu, I would. The shop itself is pretty cozy, and the aura is humble. Located in the Bishop Square shops.

I've heard amazing things about this small lunch spot and it did not disappoint! The salads are super fresh (ZERO soggy/gross vegetables) and you can tell they're made that same day. The soup is delicious and flavorful. Not overly sweet/watery and has such a great combination of ingredients. The service is super quick even with only one person prepping and ringing up.I got the bowl of Italian sausage and potato soup with combo salad. The soup comes with a pretty big slice of fresh bread (its warm!) and you select your own dressing for the salad. The Italian sausage and potato soup was a bit spicier than you think it'll be (I thought it was great!) The Italian dressing for my salad was perfect. Not too sweet/tangy/salty, and they give more than enough for your salad. Speaking of the salad - it may look plain and humble but I can't stress how FRESH it is! Crispy romaine, plump tomatoes, and juicy cucumbers. Plus there's a variety of red leaf lettuce and spinach too.In my opinion, it's a great value for a pretty large and healthy meal in downtown. Especially compared to other cafes with similar offerings.I'll definitely be back and can't wait to try more options!
