One of few places that actually had the Covid-19 Pfizer booster........So after taking my 1st Covid-19 booster shot back in December 2021, I figured I'd take my time on taking the 2nd Covid-19 booster shot since the Covid-19 numbers had dropped significantly since the 2nd Covid-19 variant emerged towards the end of summer/fall of 2021.Why did I take my 2nd booster shot?What motivated me to take my 2nd shot sooner is because I found out I had to go to the mainland for work.My original plan was to go back to get my booster at CVS Longs Drugs, but when I went online to book my appointment, I found out that CVS Longs did not have the Pfizer booster at this time. Not knowing on what to do, I asked my colleague at work to see if he had gotten his 2nd booster shot, and sure enough he told me he had gotten his Pfizer booster from a Safeway pharmacy. Shooooooooots! So I went back online to the Safeway website & sure enough I was able to make an appointment to get my 2nd Pfizer booster shot.What can I say about my experience here at the Safeway pharmacy?Overall, it was just okay.......Although I made a scheduled appointment at 3:00 pm, and I even showed up at 2:40 pm to make sure I was on time, I ended up waiting quite a long time to get processed through. By the time I finally got my booster shot, and had to wait 10 minutes afterwards, I finally left Safeway pharmacy around 3:25 pm.The time frame to do this task was much longer than I had anticipated, and I must say that the pharmacy could have done a better job with organizing the check in process. Yeah, I get it.......as it's not all of the pharmacy's fault, as there were quite a bit of elderly folks who showed up, and the clerk had to help the elderly folks fill out the paperwork, as I could clearly see that they had not gone online to do the paperwork before showing up to the site. No can help I guess, as not everyone knows how to used a computer. Aside from that, the pharmacist did a great job in giving me the booster shot, as I barely felt anything. No reaction this 2nd time around, so bonus for me! Lol!

08/17/22First time I've encountered a rude technician here, Jaee. Came for high dose flu shot. It is recommended to take after September 1 but since I'm traveling my doctor recommended I take it now.

We're thankful for this pharmacy's friendly and efficient staff as we've been coming here to get our annual flu vaccine and other immunizations. Recently, we came here for both of our pneumococcal and shingles vaccines because yes, we're of THAT kūpuna age. Because of high public demand, many people over 50 years old have had difficulties getting vaccinated even as the drug companies ramped up production and distribution of Prevnar-13 and Shingrix. However, we've been fortunate whenever we've gone to this Safeway Pharmacy because they've had both vaccines in stock. Along with providing vaccinations, this in-store pharmacy provides the following services that are covered by most medical insurance plans and you don't have to be a Safeway member to have access to them. -Blood Pressure-Diabetes Consultations-Medication Review-Specialty Pharmacy-Transfer Prescription-Travel Health-Worker's CompOur physicians had electronically transmitted prescriptions for the vaccine so all we had to do was a check-in at the New Prescription window, provide our ID and insurance cards and then wait for the pharmacy to process the prescription. Once processed, we were directed to their huge and private Consultation Room where we filled out some medical and HIPAA forms. We waited only 10 minutes when the pharmacist called out our names and asked which of us wanted to get vaccinated first. Haha... I volunteered my husband before he could even say anything, so he went into the clean, private examination room and closed the door behind him. Within a few minutes, he emerged laughing and exclaimed "you're up"! PROS:-Convenience: this pharmacy is located in Safeway's First Flagship Store in Kapahulu and has lots of free parking.-Stock Availability: they seem to have more than adequate stock on hand to meet demands but if you're unsure, you should/can call them before going in.-Wait Time: TOTALLY dependent upon their workload and time of day but, we've been lucky to have no more than 10-minute waiting times.-Private Consultation Room: well-maintained, socially distanced and the comfortable waiting room is accessible as you wait for your individualized pharmacy consult or vaccine administration.After the pharmacist administered our vaccine (no, we didn't get both Prevnar-13 and Shingrix during the same visit), she put us on the 6-month follow-up list to get our 2nd dose and reminded us to report if we have any side effect(s). She then gave us discount coupons toward future grocery shopping in any Safeway supermarket. We were off and on our way to completing our day's errands and will return for our follow-up vaccinations.

Conveniently located in the Kapahulu area, they have whatever you need for your health. There is a variety of otc medicine and you can get your prescriptions too. While waiting for your prescriptions, you can walk around and find stuff that are on sale and you like.The parking can be crowded on the weekends, so you need to be patient in finding parking.

The fastest and friendlest employees. Used to have longs, but they take forever. And they are not friendly and helpful like safeway. Most of the times they have the med but takes only 1-2days for your med to come in . Go see them you won't regret it

Everything I. This Safeway is awesome. However the hefty gray haired lady putting meat out in the display could be much more courteous. My sister kept moving away from her due to social distancing but she got irritated at my sister because my sister had to get a few items where she was blocking. She abruptly said finally "Can i hep you? " in a condescending and irritated manner. Sis told her she wanted to grab a few items from where she was. And she snapped at my sister who is trying to shop and get out of there and also try to stay away from her due to social distancing. She told my sister "I don't bite!" Is she serious? She is absolutely bonkers! Other people who witnessed it tried to tell her she needs to keep her distance. But she snapped at the other customers and told them to get out of her department. She is rude and needs to be more educated in social distancing!

All of the staff here are super awesome except for one woman with an attitude problem. I thought it was a one time thing but she is always nasty. She shouldn't be allowed to talk with people.

Love going to this Safeway location ! Store is always clean and spacious. Easy to find sale items (which is how we have to shop in Hawaii). Best meat department - Kala always gives the best service!!!

I just wanted to say thank you to the staff at KAPAHULU Safeway pharmacy. You guys are so nice and patient and helpful every time I come in specifically to Mishon the pharmacist I've been having a problem with my Advair discus with the insurance. The generic that is covered is not the cheapest medication so my old pharmacy did not want to bring it in. I came in to Safeway pharmacy and Michon figure out the problem and let me know and then she brought the appropriate generic for me so that I could have my advert discus. That's been a problem that me and my Dr Of working on for a couple months now and that was a real big help so I wanted to say thank you so much to Shawn and her staff at the Safeway Kaphulu pharmacy.

A special shout out to the Michon Fuchigami, the pharmacist of Safeway Kapahulu. I was a long time CVS customer and I'm used to having my prescriptions delayed, missing or wrong. Recently, there was an island wide shortage for a prescription medication that I needed. CVS was out, as well as many other pharmacies. We called around and Safeway happened to have it!!! Michon guided us in having the prescription transferred over and got the entire process from transfer to filling in record time!!!! We've never encountered such efficiency. She has an outstanding ability to anticipate patient's needs to stock the pharmacy with the required meds. She sincerely cares for the patients, you can hear it in her voice, regardless if it's via phone or in person. She's truly an asset to Safeway.
