This gem is about 15 minutes drive from the HNL airport. So definitely check it out before and after flight arrival and departure. This is our first time here yet we felt it super easy to navigate the menu. The owner is friendly and willing to explain, introduce and let you tried their menu if you ask nicely on a non busy day. The rice is warm and delicious combined with their tasty flavorful fresh fish. I just cannot stop eating after the first bite. Their dessert has a different mixed of texture from the macadamia nuts, to the creamy vanilla, and the yummy chewy mochi like taro at the end. One spoonful of deliciously definitely helped with the spicy flavor profile from the fish. You definitely will leave this place feeling full yet still craving for more. This is a small shop on a strip of nearby establishment with limited parking. They don't have much sitting area inside so mostly order to go. We got lucky during their off hours and able to sit down and devour the goodness! We cannot wait to explore more places like this in Hawaii and will continue to come back to support this small local business!

This little hole in the wall is located next to Dixie's. There is a large parking lot shared among the stores. Ryder's offers poke, ice cream, shave ice and some specialties. We came as a large group on our lion dance break and were helped really quickly. The staff is so friendly and we were given samples. I tried the green onion ginger avocado and the deconstructed California and loved them!!I ended up choosing those two for my poke bowl. I didn't try the spicy soy sauce or the spicy ahi, but they said the spicy soy is spicier. The deconstructed California is sweet with crab, poke, tobiko and cucumber. The green onion ginger avocado is like its name- very green onion ginger and their most popular!Definitely check this place out if you're in the area for unique and delicious poke!

If you're in Aiea and looking for fresh, flavorful poke that stands out from the crowd, you HAVE to check out Ryder's Poke & Shave Ice! We stopped by recently and tried their spicy poke and ginger garlic poke, and let me tell you--they did not disappoint. The spicy poke was packed with flavor, offering just the right balance of heat and boldness. It's honestly some of the best spicy poke we've had, with flavors that are richer and more refined than other poke shops we've visited. The ginger garlic poke, on the other hand, had a much lighter flavor profile, but it was so fresh and clean-tasting that it stood out in its own way.Aside from the amazing food, the experience was made even better by the super friendly owner. He was welcoming, warm, and you could tell he takes pride in serving great food at a reasonable price. It's refreshing to find a spot that delivers on both quality and value!Whether you're a local or just passing through Aiea, Ryder's is absolutely worth a stop. Fresh poke, great prices, and a genuinely nice vibe--what more could you want? Must-Try: Spicy poke, ginger garlic poke Great value for the quality Support local and treat yourself!

Ryder's Poke and Shave Ice is an absolute gem! Their poke is super fresh and flavorful, easily some of the best I've had. I'm so happy they're close by--it's my new go-to spot! The staff is incredibly friendly, making the experience even better, and the place is spotless, which I really appreciate. And let me tell you, their kulolo sundae is next level--hands down the best I've ever had! If you're in the area, this spot is a must-try.

I stopped at Ryders Poke for my last lunch in O'ahu. Ryders is a small shop serving freshly caught poke, ice cream, and shaved ice. The poke bowls are freshly prepared, and made to order.I ordered a spicy ahi tuna poke salad with cucumber. The spicy ahi was eye-watering spicy, so be aware if you have a low tolerance. That being said the flavor was incredible and the fish tasted fresh. My salad was really good, and I intend to stop here the next time I'm in town. The only thing that could make my salad better would be if avocado was offered as a topping.

The #1 place for Poke on the Island. The fish is super fresh and only well chosen sections are cut up. Never any striations or chewy pieces. Some of the flavors are very unique (Gingah Avocado) and the classics are the best of the best. The spicy... is spicy !! The prices are affordable and the servings are extremely generous. I usually like my Poke with just rice, but the crunch topping glazed with unagi sauce is too hard to pass up. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's more than just the food. The business emboldens the Aloha spirit. Ohana owned and operated. I often see both Ryder and his Dad working side by side. Their big smiles always make you like family too.

This was the first spot we tried on our vacation, stopping by on the way from the airport to our hotel based on its positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. Although there was only one group ahead of us, we waited about 20 minutes before being helped, and there was just one person working at the front. It was around 2pm, and we were quite hungry, so the wait felt longer than it probably was. While the staff member was polite when we were finally served, there was no acknowledgment of the delay, which was disappointing. We ordered a poke bowl with spicy shoyu poke and spicy ahi. The flavors were good, but nothing particularly memorable. At $18 for a bowl, it felt a bit overpriced, especially since we arrived after the lunch rush and got the last scoops of each, which didn't feel as fresh as we'd hoped. The spicy shoyu was quite intense, as the staff warned, but I would have preferred a regular, non-spicy option--it overwhelmed the taste of the fish.Overall, it was a decent meal, but the experience didn't quite live up to the reviews.

Central Oahu's best poke spot.To understand why this shop is so good, mean to understand what it's NOT. It's not the refinement and complex layers of flavors of a seasoned chef (Ali'i Fishmarket), not the Asian influenced, creative flavor bombs of the North Shore king, (Ry's Poke Shack) and not the subtle harmonious accents that make the fresh fish flavor stand out (Poke for the People). Ryder's lane, fresh fish incorporating big, familiar local flavors then combining them together in a way that will satisfy any local's palate. The standard ahi, solid with just the right amount of sweet onion and ogo. The spicy ahi, nice firey heat without overpowering the fish. Top props to the ginger avocado ahi poke. Think of it as the Chinese cold ginger chicken sauce poke with creamy avocado to boost the richness. Addicting. As good as the poke is alone, it works even better in their poke bowls. Multiethnic flavors combine so well it would make any local happy. Locals will find all the toppings familiar (taegu, pickled garlic, namasu, pickled onions, etc). None clash with each other or the poke. This isn't a Mainland poke shop; no Brussels sprouts or cauliflower as toppings. What I dub the "Amanda and Felix" poke bowl just works. Two scoops rice topped with furikake, ginger avocado ahi and spicy ahi with kabayaki sauce, bubu arare, add ocean salad, add teagu. Trust.Prices in line. Poke bowl starts at $16. By the pound, sub $30.Local, friendly service from a father and son team. And yes, they have shave ice. Not sampled. Poke and shave ice? It's an either or for me.Without a doubt, worthy of the extra few miles when craving poke in the area.

The poke here was one of the best that I've tried in Oahu! I was impressed at how spicy the spicy tuna was. They add Hawaiian peppers in there, and you can definitely taste them! If you're not big on spicy, it'd be good to sample it first so you know what you're getting yourself into. The tuna was fresh and well seasoned. We enjoyed the rice bowl more than the nachos since the chips were like wonton chips and they overpowered the fish flavor. $16 for a bowl was pricier than other places we've tried, but I think it's reasonable for the portion and quality. The shave ice was good, but nothing special. I wish we had tried the kulolo sundae instead since the owner said that was something they're popular for. It's a small shop with some bar seats inside, along with one picnic table outside. Easy parking since it's in a shared lot. The line can get backed up since it seems like it's just the father and son working, but I appreciated that they still provided friendly service.

Amazing poke, MUST TRY Kulolo dessert and above all, the kindest owner. It was a highlight of our trip, and we will certainly return. Fresh caught, local fish, local ice cream - be patient, as they make each bowl to order- but I promise, it's worth the wait.
