This is a great hole in the wall restaurants. The food and service is always great. You feel like you are transported back into time, simple eats, for a great price. My favorite things to get are the fried rice loco moco, it isn't too big but is flavorful. However, the star of the show are the banana pancakes. They are subtly sweet and are fluffy. No need for any syrup.

Decided to try Rocky's coffee shop during our visit to Oahu.. it's a little bit of a drive from Waikiki but wanted to try the Filipino sausage," longonisa".. a sweet pork sausage... it was really good , perfect breakfast combination with steam rice and over easy eggs... the Loco Nico tho was just ok... better if the patty was all beef and The gravy lacked flavor... the sausage tho was good. Would go back for that!!

Breakfast in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii...Sometimes, I'd drive past Rocky's Coffee Shop and see a crowd outside, waiting on the sidewalk, under the red pop-up tent... There's even a bench outside for those wanting to get in...Wow...Must be a good place, right?Located on the busy Waipahu Depot Road, there's free street parking and a free parking lot in front of the popular Waipahu Festival Marketplace. Be careful not to park in reserved stalls for the neighboring building. I walked into the cozy, old-school diner, looked for a worker, and signaled to her that I just needed one seat. She motioned to me to have a seat at the counter... perfect! I was fascinated by the cook at the grill. He was awesome! I watched his skills - cracking eggs open, delicately turning the Vienna sausage, making fried rice, creating banana pancakes, etc - and occasionally taking a sip of Pepsi or popping a bit of bread into his mouth! LOL! I also enjoyed his humming along to the music!I ordered Hamburger Steak plate with tossed salad (instead of macaroni salad). It came with two scoops of white rice... perfect! The three Hamburger patties were thin and tender without gristle! The aunties were friendly and chatted with regular customers. Several of them - and the cook - checked on me. Thank you for the hospitality and comfort food! It would be better for me if there was more air-conditioning, but that's minor. I appreciate the reasonable prices and Ohana Spirit!

Breakfast in Waipahu, hubs suggested. Casual atmosphere. Very local, Hawaiian music playing. Server has the sweetest voice and personality.Localest breakfast place everThe only other customer in here when we arrived came over to our table with a BIG smile and said my hair looks like shave ice, the color he chooses for his shave ice.

I was in the area to get a safety check on my car and then started up a conversation at Midas with another customer. As my conversations always go, we started talking about places to eat and as the other fellow was an old soul like me, we started talking about our favorite local places to eat growing up. One of them was Rocky's coffee shop that has been here forevah as we say. While we were talking I decided to go stop by for old times sake and was happy I did. I felt more like I was coming home than walking into a restaurant. The team here welcomed me with a smile, checked up on me often and I was just getting a take out order. Watching the staff greet them like old friends remind me of the good old days and fills me with lots of good memories.Picked up my food and then a soon as I got home I dove into the longanisa and fried rice. Was so Ono! I am definitely going to be back and this time I'll eat in the diner. Definitely will be back!

My husband was craving liver. The usual places we'd go for that don't serve liver anymore. Thankfully, Rocky's does! We went there after church and luckily, there wasn't the usual line. The employees are so gracious! The service was quick and the food was great! Generous portions. I love coming to Rocky's. It's a "hole in the wall" goodness. Takes you back to the good ole days!

What can I say about Rocky's coffee shop . It's been years that I came to eat here . Good to see that they're still thriving after all these other restaurants closing . I remember way back in the old days my friends and I use to ride our bikes from Makakilo to Waipahu just to eat Rocky's hamburger steak .Today I ordered their Hamburger steak and it was good like way before . Just the hamburger shrunk a little LOL ! 3 homemade beef patties w/ grilled onions and rice w/Mac salad it was very good . My brother in law had their waffles he said it was good . Service was nice and friendly and the goal games out quickly Support local

Good, local grinds. Affordable and the fried rice omelette & banana pancakes are a winner. Sometimes it's busy to dine it. You should call in your take out order or you'll wait 20-30 minutes.
