Robata JINYA - Honolulu

I enjoyed an early dinner at Robata JINYA as I was headed to the Ward Theaters to attend a viewing of the IVE: 1st World Tour concert video. I got there a little early and found myself to be the sole diner at this large venue.I started with a Hendricks gin & tonic ... My first surprise, I received a Sipsmith London Dry gin & tonic. It was fine; I've had Sipsmith previously. The manager (I think) said it was Happy Hour, so I ordered off that menu. I started by ordering six of the seven Robata-Yaki items (Miyazaki Wagyu Tsukune, Tender Beef Tongue, JIDORI Chicken Thigh, Pork Belly Chashu, Saba, and Oyster Mushroom), The Nigiri (Seared Salmon, Kona Kampachi, and Tai), and JINYA Ceviche. The dishes came in no particular order, the ceviche arrived first, followed by the sushi, then the tongue, pork belly, and mushroom. The Saba arrived next, then the Wagyu Tsukune, with the chicken arriving last.I asked for another gin & tonic and ate everything. I would have preferred that the dishes arrived more slowly ... This is an issue I've encountered at this restaurant in the past. Yakitori should be consumed as soon as possible to maximize the flavors. Luckily, I eat very quickly so none of the dishes sat untouched for very long.I ended my meal with a cup of tea. I ordered it just to delay my departure ... It hadn't been 30 minutes since I sat down. All in all, I really enjoyed my meal ... Victoria, my server was personable and the other two (manager and server) were friendly too. The food has always been great, just a more relaxed delivery of the dishes would make it even better. My bill came to $94.25 before tip. This was a much better experience than at two other nearby restaurants. If I'm going to Ward Theaters, I'm dining here. Recommended!

We dropped by here for Happy Hour (4-6pm). We had Wagyu Tsukune, oyster mushrooms, spicy tuna and Kampachi hosomaki, Wagyu gyoza, and agedashi tofu. Everything was good, especially Wagyu Tsukune and agedashi tofu are must try dishes. They are not only beautiful but also delicious!Lastly don't forget to order purple sweet potato Mont Blanc: they will bring this incredible machine to top purple sweet potato strings in front of you! Thank you very much for delicious foods and nice service: we will sure to visit again. PS Wednesdays are all day Happy Hour there

Came here for a girls dinner and got to try some of their happy hour specials. The interior aesthetic is very pleasing and romantic. I really enjoyed my Makaha sunrise, it was fruity and delicious! The food was okay, some dishes fell short. The purple sweet potato was underwhelming & very plain. The agedashi tofu was not that great either, instead of coming in the usual broth it came in a sweet & sour sauce. The jidori was small and the meat was very tough.. I did however enjoy the seared salmon nigiri and spicy tuna crispy rice. Overall I wouldn't come here for dinner and pay full price for the food, as I don't find the quality meets the price point. Def snag a HH reservation.

We decided to check out Robata Jinya AGAIN. They have a great happy hour that doesn't disappoint. They had a special "Taste of Ward Prix Fixe" menu for $40. It was similar to their regular Prix Fixe, but $8 cheaper and doesn't have the add-ons. Drink specials that everyone can enjoy. Tons of parking across the street in the Theatre parking or at Whole Foods. The staff we friendly and informative.Make this place one of you goto places for happy hour.Aloooooooha and happy eating.

Came here for a night out and was not disappointed. We made a reservation and we were able to get seated immediately upon arrival. They have very fun cocktails that were also tasty. They have a huge variety of small plates/sushi and rolls to share, and very reasonably priced. They also offer omakase and set menus which I would definitely go back to try!All the servers were very friendly and prompt with bringing out our plates, refilling water and clearing any dirty dishes. The inside is very clean and perfect setting for a date night or just a girls night out with the ambient lighting. I would definitely come back here!

Across from the Ward theaters, Robata JINYA occupies a large space that feels upscale, spacious, and clean. There is parking in the Ward parking lot and other lots around Ward. There are a lot of options on the menu but we ended up with a few skewers of beef and chicken, salad, the hot stone A5 wagyu rice, and the purple sweet potato mont blanc. The skewers OK but the standouts were the wagyu rice, mont blanc, and the lychee martini. The wagyu rice was tasty. The mont blanc and lychee martini were neat due to their presentation. The mont blanc was made with a special machine that churned out the mont blanc spaghetti shape. The lychee martini was made with what seemed to be a little bubble machine. These were very neat for presentation purposes and both tasted good!

My friends and I were thrilled to experience the prix fixe menu at Robata Jinya during the Taste of Ward event. The selection was outstanding, with highlights like the succulent oysters, flavorful ahi arugula salad, and crispy shrimp sushi rice. We were particularly impressed with the robata assortment skewers and the savory takiyaki gyoza dumplings.The value was exceptional for the price, and the ambiance was inviting. The service was top-notch from start to finish, and the food was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. If you're seeking a memorable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Robata Jinya.As an added bonus, their drink presentation was equally impressive. I indulged in a lychee martini, which was simply perfect. I've also tried their Jinya Ramen location a few times, and both establishments are truly amazing!

I went on a girls' night out with my best friend, and we had an amazing time! The food was absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere was just perfect. Our waitress was fantastic--so inviting and helpful, with great suggestions on what to order. The food was fresh, high-quality, and worth every penny, even though the prices were on the higher side. You can really taste the difference in the ingredients. This is definitely a place I'd come back to, especially for special occasions!

I've been to JINYA Ramen but my first time here at Robata. We were seated immediately at a table in front of the sushi bar. Interior nice, atmosphere soothing. They had a special 6 course menu for $48.00. It was such a great deal. For a few courses you are able to select your options. For example you could add the Wagyu for an additional $18.00. You may select sushi or a truffled rice dish. The only downside to this is that everyone needs to order the same menu item. Which meant we all ordered the Wagyu, and every other dish needed to be the same. Bummer. Other than that food was good. Like the menu stated it was a 6 course meal, which means it literally comes out 1 at a time. So if you like your food all at once, order off the regular menu.In addition to the 6 course, I had the seared Salmon Nigiri and a glass of Umeshu. Food took a little while but, it was very tasty. Once you're done have dessert. Definitely will b back!

Great happy hour and staff. Easy to park too. Only trouble was difficult to make reservations.
