If you're like me and don't know what a Ringer Hut is, then let me tell you it's a restaurant that was founded in Nagasaki, Japan in 1974 and now has expanded to over 500 locations. Their specialty is the Nagasaki Champon; a soul food noodle dish with pork, seafood, and vegetables that originated from Nagasaki and is popular in Japan.Ringer Hut is located in Ala Moana Shopping Center facing Kona Street. We walked in for dinner and were seated quickly. We all have our go-to order when it comes to Japanese food so it was a quick decision for us, but there is a nice selection of noodles, donburi, curry rice, and set meal choices along with gyoza and other side dishes. Most menu items are under $20.00.The food came quickly and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was efficient and friendly. The only downside was there was no dessert menu, but they do serve beer, wine, and whiskey with soda. We really enjoyed our experience and would recommend it for a casual dinner

We came in on Monday around 2pm and they weren't very busy. They are located in Ala Moana Shopping Center on level 1 of the Ewa Wing. The interior is spacious with lots of seating.Staff are friendly but not very efficient. We were served quickly but never had our waters refilled. Also as the food came out empty plates were not removed from the table to make room for new items.Food is okay. The chicken Karaage are huge (didn't get a pic) but not very flavorful. The broths of both the Champon and Ramen were absolutely delicious but the noodles were so starchy that I wasn't able to take more than a bite. The curry was good, nothing amazing and you get a small amount of protein with it. The tempura was excellent! Favorite dish by far, it was light, crisp, and not oily at all. The takoyaki was good and had a nice amount of octopus in it.The gyoza was good but I didn't love topping, next time I would try a different flavor.Overall not something I would go out of my way to get again but if I were in the area I would go back for the tempura.

Food has the Okinawa-ken taste and preparationService is typical of an establishment in a shopping mallAmbiance is typical of an establishment in a shopping mall. Here is my story:Meeting a couple friends of mine and Ringer Hut was the selection of place to dine. (This turned out to my be first visit EVER to Ringer Hut)We got there before the noon hour and without surprise got pushed and rushed to give them our order (it was like order, eat and go please). It's okay as I understand their wanting to turn the tables as this place as I understand usually has a waiting list. Food came, we ate, patrons came and went... we finally left around 2 pm... LOL they didn't rush us out even if they rushed us to order. We had fried gyoza, Kaki Udon, Miso Ramen and Shoyu Ramen. Yup! It was a ramen kind of day. Broth good and hearty. Gyoza okay.... Would I return? YUP

I really hope to be happy with my meal this time around. Sadly, I was not impressed. I came once when Ringer Hut first opened this location and I didn't care too much for the ramen. It was a bit salty. This time, it's been almost a year and its still meh. I ordered a donburi and the rice was mushy. Of course, I didn't finish the rice. I ate all the tempura. The tempura was good. It was nice and fresh and crispy. Service was okay. I didn't think the servers were too quick with their job. The server led me to the table and I immediately noticed dirty oily spots on my bench and I wiped it down with the napkin on the table. The server continued to walk away and another server brought water. Nothing mentioned about trying to help wipe down the seat for me or bringing me a new napkin for my meal. Oh well.

Ringer Hut has upgraded from the food court to a full sit down restaurantYelp BFF and I were thoroughly impressed. The extensive menu carries a variety of noodles, fried items, and curry.I ordered the spicy shoyu ramen and Yelp BFF ordered the okonomiyaki style saraudon. The spicy shoyu ramen was SPICY! I was expecting a mild spice, but there's a kick to it. The okonomiyaki style saraudon had crispy noodles and topped with loads of assorted stir fried veggies and meat. The second time we visited, I ordered the agemochi udon, which I really enjoyed. The broth was rich, the udon has a nice chewy texture, but the stretchy mochi made the entire dish. Definitely recommend! (alongside a side of gyoza)The ambiance is very cozy and the wallpaper gave me a Crazy Rich Asians vibe. I think this is our new go to spot. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

I never ate here before at their previous location and since opening in Ala Moana, they were always packed or had a line outside so I'm like, "ok my turn to try" and I'm glad to say that I think I found a decently priced Tempura Donburi that I actually enjoyed. Their portions are such a good size that I struggle to finish all the rice sometimes (but we don't waste here so we just inhale and suffer later) Their dipping sauce is such a nice sweet soy that I just end up pouring it all over the bowl. Their noodle dishes aren't so bad either, depending which you get and personal preference obvi. Their appetizers are also pretty good as well but I honestly would solely just come for the Tempura Donburi and call it a day :)

This place is overrated and I probably won't be back. The resto was nice and the service was good not great. The food was good but the quantity was lacking for the price. Probably because of the high mall rent and minimum wage law they have to pay which is understandable. Still I wouldn't give it more than three stars.
