In life thrift happens...When it does we look to the little things in life and see if it can go to someone who needed it more than we do, this is where consignment was something I've done in the past which can be risky but is great tool to sell that item your not totally committed to.Rhea Lana's is the nation's children consignment place that holds events is 25 states and guess what we have one right here in Hawaii and was coincidentally held in the former Toy r us location in Pearl City.I was just taken aback of how much inventory they had!Very neat and organized all sorted with clear signage for all things for kids like clothing, shoes, toys, furniture, books and even accessories for mom like bags and bottles. There was a few items I was interested in but the line was decently long with carts filled with items I though what a great organization this is and is obviously very needed in this community. Though this event has passed follow them on Instagram @rhealanasofhonolulu to keep updated with them.Thank you!

10/10 recommend shopping at Rhea Lana's of Honolulu! Their shop is open around twice a year and all of the products are consigned by 100s of consignors. It's the best way to resell your baby gear and clothing, toys, and even maternity items as well. And it's always an awesome shopping experience as well. Who doesn't want to shop great deals for our little ones without breaking the bank? We all know they grow out of their things from clothes to toys a little too quickly!Their sales have most recently been held in the old toys r us building at Pearlridge Mall, in the same parking lot as Big City Diner and Down to Earth. That building is huge! So imagine how many deals you can find at the next shopping experience!

Been apart of the Rhea Lana scene for many, many, many years and you really do learn a lot about (1) the consumers and (2) the producers. Rhea Lana's most recent management does a wonderful job at informing consignment sellers (of all experience levels) how to put their new, used, or preloved baby goodies up for sale. The process is really quiet easy to understand and the site's instructions are fool-proof. Consigners keep a majority of their profit and there are advantages of using Rhea Lana (early bird days, discounts, seller rewards, etc.). Rhea Lana is purely donation-based. Everything you see was brought in by the local community therefore its a really awesome passive income for moms just trying to destash and make room in their homes. Id also like to mention that the prices you find are relatively inexpensive. Most consigners are honest and frequent Rhea Lana participants so items come in clean, with all the parts (maybe even batteries if needed), and are popular. Sure you got those that overpriced or bring in not-your-best quality items but thats just 5% of the whole. Rhea Lana locations are huge! Windward Mall's location has DOZENS of racks, shelves, and tables full of goods wanting new homes! Baby goods, clothes, to teen clothes and shoes.Great resource for parents who dont want to always shop at the store or at a thrift store -- Rhea Lana is in the middle.Just check it out as you may never know what treasure awaits!

This is an amazing economical shopping opportunity for high quality, name brand items priced to sell - many never used with tags still on! Plus, being an island with such diverse and well traveled communities from the military families to the international workers in the various industries of this melting pot, I have found the most interesting, unexpected, educational, practical things I never would have even known existed except to have shopped here! Most people price to sell - well worth it! I always make 2 trips - the early days to see the most unique items that will sell fast and then again in the last 2 days to take advantage of HALF OFF days where most things are 50% - that's when I stock up on the upcoming growth spurts I can expect in my child and treat myself to the things I really wanted but needed a super great deal to justify such little spending All sizes from kids to men and women!

I went to this place this past Saturday while they had their 50% off sale. While checking out one of the workers had explained the whole concept behind the store and why they do what they do. He said that 1) they don't buy the items from people - people set whatever prices they want for each individual item and then if it sells, then Rhea Lana gets 30% and if the item doesn't sell then they can come and pick up their item. 2) there is also the option to donate your items to a charity that the store chooses and their (RHEA LANA) choice of charity changes constantly. I got there and most of the good items were gone but it was such a good place to shop! Especially for those who are looking for discounted prices on baby items. My total for the 4 items was $12 .

Consigner Experience**Rhea Lana**Rhea Lana is a children's consignment franchise located in 25 states. Hawaii, we lucked out and are one of them. This consignment event usually happens twice a year. One in the spring and one in the fall. It happens at different locations. Rhea Lana allows you as the Consigner to price your own items. You can sell clothes, toys, baby gear, maternity wear, accessories, shoes, and strollers. **Consigner Tips**As the seller-This was my first time consigning with Rhea Lana.1) Familiarize yourself Rhea Lana's website. - There are videos on how to sell your items and pricing tips. 2) You have to provide your own hangers, tags, and safety pins, rubber bands, ziplock bags, and tape. - After the consignment there are tons of hangers up for grabs. - I purchased my hangers from Target and Walmart. - You can purchase the tags from Amazon or Walmart. 3) Wash and Inspect the items you plan to consign. - The workers actually look at all of the items you consign. Rhea Lana sells quality items at a good price. 4) Time- It takes a lot more time participating in this event. But it's worth it. - I tried to sell items at yard sales, other children's consignment stores and the swap meet.5) PERKS OF CONSIGNING A)You can scope out the goods before the actual sale. B) You receive passes for you and a friend to shop a b. day earlier than the public. C) You get early access to the half off sale. D) Consign a minimum amount of items by a certain date and you get credit to purchase items. **Organized**Shopping is a great experience. Everything is well labeled. All the items are grouped together. Aisles are big enough for strollers. **Worry Free** You have to input every single item that you are planning to sell. This ensures that if your item gets lost or damaged they can reimburse you for it. How awesome is that!? **Friendly Staff and Consigners**Everyone seemed to enjoy what there were doing and willing to help. Depending if you volunteer you can make up to 70 percent back of your sales. There is a $10 participation fee. I didn't volunteer so I got 65 percent back of my sales. I made $80 for consigning. I tried to consign 99 items and 31 items were bought. You have to price items at a minimum of $3 so I had clothes bundled together. However, I spent about $30 for supplies. But I won a $25 gift certificate from the Facebook contest (like them on Facebook). I also got a $5 credit for consigning. Overall, I plan to consign again. I have a good amount of supplies left. It was a good experience and getting in early to the event is a great bonus to consign.

I heard about this company from the baby expo, and I joined their Facebook page and email subscription so was reminded about the sale and the ability to sell my items. It seemed like a lot of work to sell ( so I really appreciate the sellers who make this possible!) though the high commission is pretty good. I guess it's higher than other consignments because I think you only get the money back if you actually sell the item. I went twice and found great items each time. The first time I went was through the Facebook pass, which allowed Facebook friends to check out the sale on the Saturday after 3 pm. Sellers and other special guests (parents to be, military, volunteers), get to go in earlier than that time. I spent a long time going through the racks and found that some sellers were more motivated than others - some cinnamon girl dresses were priced at $15; others at $6. So it takes awhile longer to look through the racks because you're not really sure how the seller will price its item(s) - and if you're like me, the price is a big factor in whether you buy the item!I went the following Thursday, which is when they started the 50% off sale of the items remaining - except for the items marked with a red dot! They were very strict in only allowing in the public (Facebook friend) in after 6:30 p.m. (I had thought that I'd get to browse around and purchase the items at 6:30 p.m.). I bought a TON of stuff. surprisingly, there were quite a bit of items that I saw the prior Saturday that were still in stock - a simply adorable gymboree strawberry jacket that wouldn't get too much use, but too cute to pass up at 50% off; a few more cinnamon girl dresses, taj dresses, kissy diaper shirts, lularoe leggings, and other comfortable dresses for my girls. I was nervous to see how much the piles of clothes added up to, but it was overall a good deal, and I can't wait for them to return!

HOORAY! No more garage sale hunting, Craigs-list searching, and Saver's and Goodwill shopping for steals on children's clothing! Don't worry, I don't put my baby in other people's underwear, just outer garments in very good condition.Rhea Lana's is a children's consignment venue specializing in gently used children's clothing, toys, books and baby equipment. I recently became a fan of second hand shopping for my daughter who seems to grow out of everything in a month or two. I just can't turn down pieces of clothing for a few bucks. Not only that, my daughter pretty much has three homes (ours and the grandparents) and I seems to lose track of her clothes. FOR THE SHOPPERS--The items at the store were organized in a understandable fashion. There are huge signs letting buyers know what items are where. As I sifted through the clothing racks, I noticed good brands such as Juicy and Polo. My favorites to purchase second hand are Gymboree, Circo, and Children's Place items. There were a good supply of those brands too. It felt like the buyers at this store have made sure to sell decent brands and items in the store. I am headed to the mainland next month and I was able to purchase my daughter a cute Genuine Kids jacket for $3.50. Also, there was one rack of maternity clothing. I loved the hand me down maternity clothing my friends gave me. If I were to ever get knocked up again I will definately visit this place and check out that rack. There were also a decent array toys and baby equiptment (pack and plays, beds, bouncers, etc). The equitment looked cleaned and in good shape. Some of the toys were not in top condition but toys probably get used more than equiptment. For my daughter I got a brand new DVD Once Upon a Potty for her ($11.85 on Amazon) for $3!! Some people are not comfortable with purchasing second hand items but if you are ok with it I recommend checking Rhea Lana's out.FOR THE SELLERS--I listed some things on craigslist and it was pretty humbug. You gotta deal with meeting people, then hagglers, and of course actually listing the item. Thank you Rhea Lana's I will never go and do that again. This place lets you set your price you are comfortable with and you get 70% sales. They cut you a check versus giving you store credit which I prefer. I personally have not consigned anything yet. Apparently there are consignment periods which are a few times a year (according to the worker I spoke to). It's an online system and you enter your own items. I can't wait to actually do this so I can share my experience. However there was good information on how to do this online http://www.rhealana.com/cardinal/cssparticipate.asp?init=hono76rfvf.So for now, the service was kind and the goods were decent! If your interested in consigning the process seems painless and the directions are clear. 5 stars when compared to other consignment shops for sure!
