Reverend Michael Nelson

For my 700th review, I wanted to save it for an event near and dear to my heart. I had recently gotten married, and we had the honor of having Reverend Michael Nelson officiate our wedding. He came recommended by our wedding coordinator, and was one of the officiants we could choose from as part of our wedding package from the Kahala. We touched base over the phone a few months prior to our wedding date, so that Reverend Nelson could determine our preferences. He asked a lot of questions, such as if we wanted a denominational or non-denominational ceremony, if we had any vows and length of our vows so he could tailor his speech, and was very overall flexible to ensure that the ceremony was performed to our preferences. Prior to the event date, Reverend Nelson made sure to reach out to see if we preferred him to dress Hawaiian, or formal. And if we wanted a conch blowing at the start of the ceremony (this was a new concept to us, but we were really glad we opted to have it as it added a nice touch).Had a chance to meet him in person by sheer luck when we were doing our site visit and taste testing a few months prior to the start of the wedding, and he was the nicest person ever! Really made us all feel at ease, and knowing that we were in good hands. He made sure to stop by and chat with me right before the ceremony started, both to ease my nerves, and to reassure me that there was nothing to worry about with the event. He even had tissues ready during the vows, as the inevitable tears began to stream. If you have the option to choose Reverend Nelson as your officiant, or you're just looking for an officiant for your Hawaii wedding in general, I cannot recommend him enough! Thank you Reverend Nelson for making our special day that much more special!
