Beautiful place with awesome food and service. Forgot to take a picture of the tea leaf salad before we tore in to it. Also had mango salad, samusa, special noodles, and fish curry.

Excellent flavors. Earnest service. Vibrant atmosphere. We loved the Rangoon tea leaf salad (the one with the cabbage) and Burmese curry and potatoes with lamb. The basil with beef and garlic noodles with beef had great flavors but the beef was tough and seemed overcooked. That's the main reason for the loss of a star. We went a couple days after Valentine's Day, which clearly cleaned them out. We initially wanted the basil with chicken, garlic noodles with pork, and coconut rice. But we had to pivot because they were out of chicken, pork, and coconut rice. Crazy! But I'm not going to fault them for this and will call to check on ingredient availability next time.

Yummy food in cute ambience. Nicely spiced and flavored food with options to make vegetarian or vegan. Service is good as well. Would and have recommended.Parking may be challenging but there are lots around, may be harder for parking during Hawaii Theatre events.

Ordered Basil Chicken and Nan Gyi Thoke (rice noodles w/coconut chicken). Dishes come out "family style" so you can share the food. The basil chicken was very tasty, so much flavor that we ordered a coconut rice. The combination of the coconut rice with the basil chicken was a winner. The rice was on the clumpy/sticky side so as to soak up and hold the flavor - a winning combination! The more I ate of the basil chicken, the flavor became overpowering to the extent that it was salty. Just keep that in mind. The rice noodles with coconut chicken didn't have as strong a flavor but as you continue to eat more of it, the flavor builds and becomes better. As the sauce is on the watery side, it would help to offset the strength of the basil chicken, but the flavors may not necessarily 'match' if you're picky about your food. It's been about an hour since we finished our meal and my wife and I both noticed that our tongues feel like we had too much salt. Should've had something sweet after dinner to help offset the saltiness. The reason for the three star rating is because the noodle dish was lukewarm-warm when it came out - not good quality control. However, the waitress was nice enough to take it back and have a new one made for us. It came out piping hot!We would most definitely order the basil chicken dish and coconut rice again. Maybe two orders of the rice to one order of the basil chicken. The interior is with low, lighting which gives it a casual, relaxed feeling. The seats are all wood and became a bit uncomfortable while sitting for an extended period of time. Casual attire is fine.Since this restaurant is located in downtown Chinatown, parking on the street may be difficult to find, but there are parking lots in the vicinity.

Consistently high quality food It's a nice sit-down restaurant near Hawaii Theatre which makes it a great option before or after a show. It's the only place I've had Burmese cuisine so I can't speak to its authenticity, but everything I've ever ordered has been tasty. My favorite are the Rangoon Tea Leaf Salad and the Basil Chicken. Service is excellent. Tip: the spicy chili oil that they have in the restaurant is not for beginners, it's very spicy but delicious! I will definitely return again and again.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night with a group of 6. There was no wait since we arrived early and street parking wasn't hard to find.Service was very slow at first but they let us know they were understaffed. The food was great and we ordered a lot of different dishes to share! The drinks came out really slowly throughout the night. My favorites were the lemongrass prawn, calamari and the pan fried noodles. Everything was a hit and we all left super full!Overall it was a little pricey but it was great to try all the different dishes! Hopefully service gets better but otherwise it's a nice little spot.

Glad to report that food remains consistent after many years. My favorite is still the tea leaf salad and the pumpkin stew. Less stars than prior review mostly due to their service. We were not aware of the automatic tip added on to the bill and it was not itemized. Food came out really fast but drinks took a while. They do serve alcohol and corkage fee is "it depends on the owner". The air circulation is also pretty poor at the restaurant so all of us were sweating on a pretty cool Hawaii winter night.

This place is absolutely fantastic! From service to atmosphere to amazing food, everything about the experience was top notch! At our server's recommendation we tried the Salt and pepper calamari, Garlic noodle, Brussel sprouts, and Basil eggplant. Everything was seasoned perfectly and had nice deep flavor. The calamari and garlic noodles were my favorite! Still thinking about it now. So glad my close friend encouraged me to join him for dinner here and now I gotta spread the word. Check it out for sure!

Loved eating here before watching a show at the Hawaii Theater nearby. We had the fermented tea salad as well as a few other dishes. I need to come back and try a few more! The crowd got so packed right before the show, so it was fun to people watch as well!We got full off of our meal and were ready to digest and watch the show later that evening. Located deep in the hear of Chinatown area, I will be back!
