This review is not for the entire Queens POB 1 building, this is SPECIFICALLY for SUITE 300. Queens Comprehensive Weight Management services at 808-691-7546. I received a call from my doctors nurse saying that she sent in my referral yesterday and that I can call to schedule. I called today to schedule, let them know my referral was sent in a day ago and Rachel answered the phone. She said she would have to check first to make sure they really got a referral for me even tho that's what I said. She put me on hold for a few minutes, came back on the line and said yes they received the referral yesterday and that they need to review it and that it will take 2-3 weeks to do that. I asked her if there was any reason it would take 2-3 weeks to review a single sheet of paper, and she said "No, there is no reason. That's just what it is." I said ok, then she said have a great day but in a very loud, over exaggerated and sarcastic way. I work in the health field as well and that conversation, her tone of voice and her response to me didn't sit well with me so I called the office back to speak to the office manager who I was going to tell my experience to and also get clarification on the 2-3 week review time. I'm sure there has to be a good reason and wanted to know it. So I called back and spoke to a receptionist named "Walle". This receptionist was even more rude than Rachel. I asked to speak to the manager, she asked me for my first name and last name. I gave it to her. She then asked me if I was an established patient, which I told her no. She then forwarded me to the manager, which didn't answer. Wallet came back on the line and said her manager wasn't available but that she could take a message. I asked her for her managers voice mail, and she said she doesn't have one but she will get the message to her. I gave her my info again and asked what's the managers first name that would be calling me back. Walle said "I can't tell you that". I asked her why not, she said because it's a privacy issue. I told her the manager would be contacting me back and saying her name anyway so why can't she just tell me who is calling me back. She said why can't you just wait for that interaction instead of me telling you her name. I said I didn't understand why she was acting this way or treating me like this and that I will contact their human resource department which I am still doing besides this review. She said "go ahead". I told her I did not appreciate her attitude and cannot understand why she was acting the way she was, she had a bad attitude, was breathing hard as if she was annoyed, giving me sass and said "is there anything else I can help you with!" I said yes, the managers name that will be calling me. She put me on hold again and then a "Chanel" came on the line and said that she was the manager. I explained to her the conduct of her 2 receptionist Rachel and Walle. She began to explain to me the process of the referral. I told her I understood the process, but I wanted to talk to her about the conduct of her staff and to also clarify the 2-3 week period. She said thanks for letting her know about her staff and that the 2-3 week period is in case they need to obtain more information from the patients doctors and for the team to see if the patient meets the criteria. I told her thank you and that's it. I called my PCP back and they got me scheduled with another weight management office for this Friday and apologized that Queens weight management staff had treated me like that. They said they won't be referring there again. BEWARE if this office. That is definitely NOT the Queen Emma way and she would be embarrassed and disappointed to say the least about Rachel and Walle. Shame on Queens to employ people like that.

Loving the changes to the large parking garage attached to the POB 1 on the Queen's Medical Center campus. The parking garage ticket is now a scan. They have new ticket machines upon entrance and exit, and a new payment machine on the 5th floor, where the bridge connects the parking garage to the office building. So handy! You used to have to go downstairs to the ground level of the office building and to the cashier's office. Also, you now get an hour free of parking. The POB 1 itself is making positive changes-including elevator upgrades. They currently have one elevator down due to repairs, so just 3 total. Given social distancing due to COVID-19 they are only allowing 4 people per elevator. Plan to arrive early or take the stairs! In order to enter the building now you have to answer a series of questions and have your temperature taken, then you receive a sticker to wear during your time in the POB.

If you've never been to any of the Queen's Physician Office Buildings, it can get VERY confusing because there are THREE physician's buildings and the main Queen's hospital itself. All these building have different entrances and they're not exactly along the main road. For Queen's POB 1, it's nearest to the H1 freeway along Vineyard Blvd heading East. You can access the parking from Vineyard Blvd or from Lusitania St. You can also access this building from the main hospital as well.As with most building major facilities and buildings in Oahu, especially Downtown Honolulu, they're all pretty outdated. Everything feels like they're from the 60-70s, but there's nothing wrong with that! The quality and quality of work is probably much better at those times. It appears many physicians are located in this building as I've taken my grandparents here many, many times throughout the years.During these Covid times, temperature checks are required before you enter the building, which is great, but still uneasy being here.

Queen's POB 1 is directly connected to The Queen's Medical Center via an underground corridor - the 1st floor of POB 1 goes to the The Queen's Medical Center's ground floor. The building itself is older and dated - windowless corridors with a lot of right angles - out of date colors - smaller door entrances to physician offices. The restrooms are ADA compliant but not friendly to patients with infants. Each floor also has inadequate floor maps but lacks a directory.

Getting into the parking garage at Queen's POB1 was smooth this aloha Friday morning. In too see Dr. Nip for the first time. He is highly recommended for plastic surgery. I have a small tear in my ear that I'm hoping to get repaired before a big event I'm going to in September. Out of pocket consultation is $100. Office is totally packed which explains why it was almost a no go just for a consult. Looking forward to talking with doctor!
