Small establishment, very limited seating. Recommend that you call your order in. If not, you may be waiting 20 minutes or more for your order. We ordered the Furikake Garlic Chicken with pasta salad and Ahi Katsu with pasta salad. Both were delicious, crispy and not overcooked. Generous portions and for us it was enough for 3 meals.

We haven't been here for years! We ordered the UH special plate and shared it because it was a lot of food! Everything was ONOLICIOUS, the ahi fish katsu with tartar sauce, luncheon meat was sliced thick, furikake garlic chicken was juicy and soft and the kiawe steak was cooked to perfection medium rare with kim chee fried rice. The wait was about 25-30 minutes as posted which we didn't mind. There were already a couple of customers waiting and then some after us. We'll be back again to try out the rest of the menu and get some sweet goodies. Mahalo Queen's Cafe!

Our new favorite plate lunch on the island! The line and the wait can get pretty long (we probably waited 30-40 minutes on a weekday during lunch time), but it's worth it! You place your order at the door and they'll give you a pager so you can wait in the area. It's located in a small shopping mall with a parking lot. Portions are big, so my husband and I shared a plate lunch with two proteins- the grilled steak and the firecracker chicken. We also upgraded the rice to fried rice (definitely do that!). It was so delicious! The steak was cooked medium rare, and I liked that there were no bones so it was easy to eat on the go. The firecracker chicken was also great. Even though it's covered in sauce, the chicken was still crispy and juicy. Queens Street Cafe is going to be a must-have for us on trips moving forward!

In Aiea across from Dipped by Dee, we went to Queen St. Cafe. There was only a takeout window when we went so there was not really any seating. There was a wait so the food took longer than we expected. Our order was taken quickly though. I ordered the firecracker chicken (pictured). There was a lot of food and it came at a price that felt very reasonable. It was also super tasty! There was a lot of chicken and sauce on the chicken that helped make it yummy. Hoping to call ahead next time and try some more of the food!

Queen Street Café & Grill opened on 8/29/11 on Queen Street in Kakaako by Gwen Alejo-Herring, who had previously owned the now closed Queen Bee Bar & Grill, also on Queen Street in Kakaako. She subsequently moved the restaurant to the Aiea Town Center in Aiea to be closer to home, despite keeping the same restaurant name. The new eatery specialized in high quality, local comfort food made fresh to order, as owner Gwen continued her mother's passion for cooking for family. The popular restaurant's trademark was staff grilling its steaks and chicken just outside of the restaurant, using a grill with kiawe wood that evokes a heavenly smoky aroma that draws in customers.Menu offerings include: kiawe grilled steak; chicken (furikake garlic, firecracker, katsu, Korean, karaage, Kiawe grilled); pork chops (teri, spicy, fried with mushrooms/onions, guava smoked with onions); seafood (shrimp, ahi, salmon, fried calamari, poke); tofu salad; fried rice (regular, pork adobo, kim chee, garlic, lup chong). There are combo specials, with the popular UH Sports Special of 3 items of Kiawe grilled steak garlic chicken, and ahi katsu with furikake rice, luncheon meat, tartar sauce, and wasabi aioli. You can also mix and match according to what you want. All plates come with a choice of 2 scoops white rice, garlic mashed potatoes, or brown rice (75¢ more); and a choice of mac, pasta, or tossed salad. You can also add fried rice to any plate for $1 more (no salads). Ahi items have an upcharge of $4.The restaurant's popular offerings include its firecracker chicken, which is a boneless fried chicken drizzled with spicy mayo and sweet chili sauce; pan fried ahi belly with ponzu sauce (housemade lemon juice & soy dressing); and its signature guava smoked pork with caramelized onions that is a family recipe with the pork smoked for 8 hours with guava glaze. The UH Sports Special has 3 of the most popular items of kiawe grilled steak, furikake garlic chicken, and ahi katsu.I've had the following:* Kiawe grilled steak and teri chicken. Both the steak and chicken have a smoky flavor from the kiawe wood and have a char on the outside. The steak is soft, tender and moist; and the chicken is juicy with a slight teri taste. The kiawe grilled chicken, my favorite, is only offered on Fri and Sat.* Guava smoked pork with onions. I enjoy smoked meats, so this pork has a deep kiawe smoked flavor that hits the spot with caramelized onions!* Fried rice. There are 5 different ones: regular, garlic, kim chee, lup chong, and adobo. I've tried the regular fried rice (bacon, Portuguese sausage, char siu, spam, eggs, green onion, peas, carrots drizzled with shoyu); lup chong fried rice, (lup chong, eggs, green onion that has a sweet and salty taste); and garlic fried rice (same as regular fried rice without char siu, carrots and lots of garlic). All are very good! Looking forward to trying the kim chee and adobo fried rice!Staff is friendly at this local family-owned restaurant and willing to accommodate special requests for your order. Hard-working staff, as you'll see them kiawe grilling your steaks and chicken just outside to the side of the restaurant. As your menu items are cooked to order to ensure best quality and freshness, staff will politely inform you of the waiting time for your order, which can be about an hour during the busy lunch hour. I've called in to pre-order and pay by credit card over the phone and can easily pick it up without having to stand in line.In continuing with Covid restrictions, Queen St. Café still does not offer dine-in and is strictly take-out only. Social distancing is enforced, as only one person is allowed inside the restaurant to order and pay; customers waiting for their orders must wait outside with a couple of benches that can be used.Don't forget the 20% discount for military that are in uniform and are required to be present for pick-up orders.Hours of operation are Mon to Sat 10:30a to 4:00p, Sun closed. Hours may be reduced or they may close due to private catering events, family emergencies, or a shortage of qualified staff working that day.Free parking is available in the private lot of the shopping complex. Parking may be a little tight during the lunch hour due to other popular restaurants there, e.g., Young's Kalbee, Hughley's Southern Cuisine, Palazzo Ristorante Italiano.Great local food, generous portions and reasonable prices make this a favorite restaurant for local food for not only for me, but for many others also. And knowing that you can get freshly kiawe grilled steak and chicken with the heavenly smoky flavor makes it one-of-a-kind! Support local!

Had this place saved for the longest time and I finally got to try their plate lunches, so worth the wait! 'UH Sports Special': combination plate with steak, garlic fried chicken, luncheon meat, and salmon katsu (ahi katsu +$2) my favorite meats were the steak and surprisingly the luncheon meat too! the steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked well done, but wasn't chewy at all! the luncheon meat was like ham but not super salty, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did! 'Firecracker Chicken Plate: the batter was nice and crispy, crunchy, with a slightly sweet sauce and spicy mayo on top. the inside was juicy and overall, it was very flavorful! Each plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad. I really liked the mac salad, it wasn't too heavy in the mayo taste, but my only complaint was the rice was a bit on the mushy side...This place is takeout only btw!! Located in a small busy plaza, there is also limited parking there.

Enjoyed a nice happy hour here. The waiter was quick and friendly and also gave us some Hawaii info about the area. I ordered the chicken wings and my wife and daughter ordered the pizza. My daughter said it was the best she had ever eaten. The wings had a delicious chile sauce to dip in that was perfect. The view was the beach so it was nice to watch the sun set.
