Aloha kakou.... I've stayed at the Queen Kapiolani "QK" several times over several years; about 10x now. Through all my travels to Hawaii, this has been my favorite hotel. And i have seen this hotel go through major changes. I've loved the hotel in all iterations too. The latest is however the best and most modern, but still keeps some "old Hawai'i" charm. Love the homage to surf culture/heritage and the history of the Aloha shirts. Also love the proximity to beach (Waikiki Walls) as I am an avid bodyboarder. And let me not forget the zoo parking lot is just across the street, which is great if my ohana want to cruise by to visit or if I need overflow parking. QK staff is always friendly and great. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Also the views of diamond head are stunning. Mahalo Nui Loa Queen Kapiolani Hotel staff, e mālama pono i koʻu ʻohana. A hui ho. 'Elima Hoku / Five Stars. Aloha 'oe

Terrible experience, left a night early & ate my loss it was so bad. If you get room 1417, best of luck! Smells like insane mildew, stuffy even with "AC" & the bathtub is eroding and dirty. Tried eating at The Deck & couldn't get service. Even approached the bar & the bartender avoided us as well. 2 stars because upon early arrival, the bell staff was very friendly with accommodating my luggage. When I checked out a night early, the front desk lady could really care less & told me to have a safe flight home lol. She couldn't t provide me a receipt either until the following day via email which was strange as well. She didn't let me know what balance was due/what I would be charged for. A little sus so will keep my eye out as still no emailed receipt! There are better & cleaner hotels out there! This one is dated

Basic hotel with excellent ocean views! If you need a place to sleep and shower, with reasonable prices, this is your hotel! I was a bit worried going into this hotel given the negative reviews I had read online, but overall, I was satisfied with what I paid for and what I got. My partner and I traveled to Oahu for five days and four nights. We reserved an ocean view room and we stayed on the 9th floor which had some of the best ocean views: These are some of the things I enjoyed: - Great prices in the Waikiki area. Walkable to a myriad of different kinds of restaurants and shopping areas. - Greeted with a Hawaiian drink upon check-in at the hotel. - Small fridge available in your room. - Restaurants available inside the hotel. There's a small cafe where you can grab something quick in the morning, or a restaurant on the third floor right next to the pool area, best for dinner and drinks. - Valet parking available (additional fees). Do keep in mind that the rooms are small. We got a queen bed room and it was a compact space. We did notice that the bathroom tub and shower curtain were a bit dirty when we arrived. Additionally, the bathroom mirror is the only mirror available in the entire room! This was a little annoying because I had to wait until my partner was done getting ready for me to do my hair. I wish they could add a small mirror in the room. Besides these two things, the hotel is great and perfect for anyone looking for a safe place to stay, especially if you plan to be out the entire day.

We had an amazing stay. The valet was great, never waited more than a minute or two for our car. Bell desk was so friendly and asked us our plans each day. The beach towels and chairs were clutch. Room wasn't huge but more than enough for us. Having a fridge was a huge plus. While i do recommend driving outside of Waikiki, this was a good home base and we enjoyed the sunsets each night when returning back to the hotel. We are already planning another visit over the summer with our kids.

Cute little hotel overlooking Honolulu Zoo and Diamond Head. Nothing fancy, just enough for you to wake up, do activities, and go to bed. Thankfully they allow dogs here. My family and I were able to bring our dogs with us to finally have some peace and quiet and avoid the chaos of the bombs all throughout New Year's Eve. Will be booking again soon.

Reasonably priced hotel in Waikiki with amazing ocean views. Pros:Location is amazing! Ocean views! Great price for being in Waikiki 4 minute walk to the beach, passing 2 ABCs along the way Beach chairs and towels readily available to use Cons:Elevator is SLOW Only 2 working elevators, reading previous reviews this appears to be normal. Pool is COLD with limited seating Rooms are not sound proof --All in all we really enjoyed our stay here. Pricing on the website is pretty straightforward. We splurged for an ocean view studio. The room is definitely smaller than I expected, but then I remembered I went for the studio and not regular room. Our Oceanview was fantastic. Staff are incredibly friendly. The location is perfect. It's easily accessible and located close to anything you'd want to do. Upon arrival you're greeted with a chilled local fruit juice.

Excellent staff. Professional, kind, super responsive and helpful while being chill at the same time. Excellent property. The place is very well kept and well updated. Room design is modern beachy vibe while being very space efficient with thoughtful touches. Gym is the nicest I've ever experienced. They obviously put a lot of care into it by providing so much equipment options and in their design layout. The property has so many cozy spaces that encourage connections and exploration. They have a restaurant on the 3rd floor, a coffee shop on the first, and a dessert place to get pineapple or ube whip. They gift you with the perfect water bottle (love the thoughtful design/feel) for you to use throughout your stay with their delicious filtered water (I'm picky about how my water tastes it's better than most bottled water out there). The parking is only valet. It honestly makes the experience even nicer.Room service/housekeeping does a wonderful job! What a wonderful staff team throughout the entire property. So happy we got to stay here for 10 days. We highly recommend! Mahalo Queen Kapiolani Hotel!!!

Recently stayed at Queen Kapiolani Hotel upon moving to Hawaii. We chose QK because the hotel advertised themselves as dog friendly and they proudly supported military service personnel. The staff is very knowledgeable in daily hotel allowances and charges you that amount regardless of what room you are given or there was a promotional offer for a lesser price for an upgrade room. We quickly found out that anyone with pets were either assigned rooms on the 2nd floor, which was situated right above the checkin / valet parking and right below the pool and restaurant called the deck. Our room unfortunately was right next to the lights for the valet / parking and flooded our room the entire night, not to mention the constant noise of coming and going of people and traffic from below that contented with the loud screaming noise echoing down from the pool area and people partygoers until light into the night. . . Because we had our pet with us, house cleaning had to be scheduled 24 hrs in advance to secure an individual to do a subpar cleaning of the room. Submitted 3 separate requests and our room was cleaned one time during our 10 day stay. . . absolutely unacceptable. . . QK needs to update and pay closer attention to how their staff clean the rooms. The carpet in our room was filthy. . . Had to stop walking around in socks because the bottoms looked like I had been walking outside in dirt.I would never recommend staying at QK with or without a pet. . . Especially when there are so many other amazing hotels in the Waikiki area.

Staff was great, rooms clean although our room was a bit small for the price. Great friendly coffee shop. My issue was the restaurant and bar on 3rd floor. Went there around 4 to have drinks and small bites 2 times but both times we attempted there was no room. Although there were plenty of open tables. Hostess said they were all reserved. As a hotel guest for 7 nights I would have loved to hang out there but didn't have the opportunity. The good part is there ate plenty of great bars and restaurants in the area. Had to travel out to drink. Maybe they could have some spaces for hotel guests only? I will not eat there nor attempt to have drinks at the bar for my next 3 nights! Bad business practice.
