If your son or daughter just loves to dance, this is the place for them! It's a very fun and nurturing environment without the craziness of the more rigid programs. What I love is that they offer different disciplines of dance, all built on the ballet foundation. As the kids get older, they have the opportunity to take jazz and contemporary dance too.QEB puts on two terrific shows a year - one in April and one in November. They are well done and well run by the teachers and especially by a number of parent volunteers! During the April show, it is a farewell to the seniors and you can feel the passion they have not only for dancing but for the teachers and the school - that's when you know you're in the right place.

My daughters have been taking ballet from the kind and welcoming Queen Emma Ballet family since preschool. Now, after more than five years, both of my girls and their classmates have become gorgeous and graceful dancers.Ms. Suzanne Rowland always uses great metaphors that enables the dancers to execute the step with more percision and enthusiasm. All the Queen Emma Ballet teachers are committed to adding to the dancers love of dance and movement. Queen Emma Ballet is the place to go if you want your son or daughter to grow not only as a dancer, but as a person.

Call me biased, I've been dancing here since I could run. Like mentioned earlier, this place is great for adults. The classes are on the smaller side, great for those who maybe haven't danced in a really long time and want to ease back into it without having to go to a class stuffed with 35 people. Everyone who comes to class here is really easygoing, no big egos. Eve and Suzanne are more than welcoming and have built a very loyal following with their students. Jose's adult contemporary class is fun, challenging, a real work out and he is seriously a great teacher.

Trying to be objective as possible, I believe that Queen Emma Ballet has some good faculty. Ms. Eve is patient and kind while Ms. Rowaland is not about ballet or technique. I am sorry to say but favoritism and unprofessional was seen in many incidents with my two of my classmates who are now excellent dancers(with ms. suzuane). BTW I too have known these instructors since I was like 4 years.Needless to say, she was not the greatest instructor she never would correct and always...had the same routine.By the way tuition is very expensive now.Just my two cents, I believe if you send your children you may invest in sending to ms. Eve who was kind and deserved to be really there.

My 5 year has been taking ballet for about a year and just loves it.They teach the children in a low stress and fun environment, unlike some of the ballet Nazi schools you hear about or see on TV (aka Dance Moms). They also give the kids a chance of doing performances 2x a year. These performances are awesome hand on experiences for the children to gain confidence, poise, and to be comfortable on stage.Would highly recommend this dance school.

I've been taking ballet from Eve since I was 18. I've tried other dance studios but I like Queen Emma Ballet the best. It's a small studio and I love that it's not pretentious at all. You just know that the teachers and students there just love to dance. It doesn't matter that I don't have perfect feet or turnout; or that I don't have great extension. I am free to make mistakes and fall all over myself without being laughed at. If you ever want to learn ballet, contemporary or jazz, it's never too late. Check Queen Emma Ballet out - I have a good feeling that you'll enjoy learning it here.

I signed my daughter up for lessons at Queen Emma Ballet because it seemed like a fun activity for a 5 year old and 13 years later QEB is her home away from home. She loves her instructors and the other dancers. I love the QEB community and the wonderful people who make QEB possible, including Ms. Suzanne and Ms. Alyssa. Thank you for everything, QEB! You are exceptional!

If your son or daughter is interested in dance, Queen Emma Ballet is the place to be! My daughter has been taking ballet at QEB since she was 3 years-old. She just graduated from high school, and she says she never wants to leave! Younger students learn the basics of ballet in a supportive and nurturing environment. As they get older, they hone their ballet skills and can also take jazz and contemporary dance. Children advance when appropriate --they don't push girls to go on pointe too early. QEB also brings in special instructors so the dancers have the opportunity to work with new teachers and learn new choreography and dance routines. The quality of instruction is excellent for anyone wanting to pursue dance in college and for those who just simply want to dance for fun! Definitely check them out!

great adult ballet class. I am a 27yo adult who has been out of ballet for awhile and just wanted a place to dance. ...and this was perfect. not competitive at all. I didn't feel silly making mistakes. The class had about 8 -10 people, mostly in the 20-40 age range. It was $15/ class or you can get a punch card for $130 (10 classes)...its pretty much the going rate in Honolulu . I plan to go back next week.
