Last Saturday weekend was my first visit up here at the largest historical heiau within our Kapolei homes. Pu'uokapolei! If you stay on Fort Barrett just few 100 yards before the Farrington Highway to your left by the old skate boarders structure is the turn. Saturday's even was the Makahiki halau gathering which finished to a most spectacular chant and dance of love and respect to the elders before who walk this spiritual place. Chills is what I felt this late afternoon of good and joy mingled with awe and respect. Cannot explain but it is us so different from my other trips to previous heiau's .

Pu'u o Kapolei is a beautiful hidden gem. I love going here and watching my daughter and her halau dance hula. Also a great place to go if your are an organization looking to give back to the community with a service clean up.
