A small convenience store that sells Asian goods and daily food specials. Call in for specials. No air conditioning here or tables. Just take out. It's pretty dark inside. A variety of unique drinks such as a zero sugar watermelon and strawberry flavored sparkling seltzer water. Thanks Donna O.!Interesting items you won't find in a Safeway. Similar to 1-2 Buy, but on a much smaller scale. Service was 4/5 stars. Nice lady said she will contact me when the ginger plum candy comes into the store! Free parking is limited here. Careful as you enter and exit the parking lot. Big dip. Prices appear reasonable here. Check expiration dates before buying. Ambiance: 2/5 stars. Food: Drinks were refreshing and hydrating. 4/5 stars

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii...Donna O. raved about Provinces Snacks on School Street. I read her review and knew that the shop had some free parking spaces next to the snack/convenience store. One thing that could be improved in the shop is the air-conditioning... I think there was none.Service was very pleasant! The cashier knew Donna when I mentioned her name. Shop keepers usually want to know how you found out about them.Merchandise was plentiful and had much variety. Basic groceries, cookies, candies, chips, etc. were neatly arranged on the shelves. Sanrio character plushies, keychains, and other items were either by the cashier or behind her.I looked at the Sale Items and got the Roasted garlic-flavored peanuts. They were good, but didn't have much garlic essence. LOL!I'll return and try something else like Spiced Braised Beef Flavor Lay's potato chips!

Snacks galore...With a touch of savory Provinces Snacks is a crave lover paradise as it's filled with lots of drinks and snacks but finding some savory items as well is a fun and interesting thing. When you say Provinces Snacks Donna O is the first person that comes to mind as she raves about it and finally I get to see what they have to offer.Getting to this shop is my issue as it sits on a very busy part of North School Street near the corner Houghtailing and North School as this part is a hub connection to many major freeways though they do have a few stalls dedicated to the shop be mindful when getting in and out of the driveway.Walking in to the shop you can see the love and dedication the owners put into everything and I was told what items are selling very well and are popular though you know not to be missed are the Asian Lay's tins with the exotic flavors as it sits in the prominent spot of the shop which is clean and organized as I circled around numerous times searching and deciding with so much to choose from...nice shop with munchies vibes.Thank you!

The sign "Provinces Snacks" caught my eye as I was passing by. I had to drive by twice! It was not too far from the intersection of North School St and Waiakamilo St. it was diagonally across from the Kalihi Rainbow Drive in. Provinces Snacks Convenience Store is located after the The Gas Station and Aunty Z's Kitchen if you're heading towards downtown. There was a banner and sign fronting their store announcing their grand opening was on June 25, 2023. There were three parking stalls to the left side of the store as you turned into their driveway. You will find snacks from the Provinces of China. Some snacks/chips which looked familiar you would see at 1-2 buy. I didn't look at everything but bought things that was hard to get and the products the guy was assisting me with. Some of the snacks he grew up on and it brought back memories.I did get these handmade and not machine made rice puff candy, bag of assorted Macau pork jerky and beef or pork jerky candy. The couple were really nice and the guy could understand me best while the wife (I believe ) rung up my sale. Of course they can't give samples of everything but the few she gave, I actually liked and bought some. The li hing items in the jar seemed interesting. It's not the dry type but too bad they don't have smaller size jar. Lol. I did buy the $29 bag of 1 lb pork jerky from Macau.I forgot to take a close up picture of the hours of operation. You can call them at (808) 843-1378. They were open on Sunday mid-morning and they already had a customer who bought more than me!The guy owner hopes to share and introduce these yummy snack to the local community! It was nice to support their new business! It's not a fancy store but a hole in a wall type of small business with imported /specialty products. He took the time to explain their products to me! Great customer service therefore I give them 5 stars!

New snack shop/convenience store that opened along School St.! Lots of Asian snacks, some beverages, and crack seed kine stuff inside the jars. Freezer section had some ice cream but also dried fish. They also had fresh made jung (zongzi, or rice dumplings) and some shumai and har gow as well!Good prices, friendly owners, and definitely a place to keep coming back to whenever the cravings hit. :-)
