If you are looking for a piece of Hawaii to take home, this is a great place to stop by in North Shore. They have a lot of cute artworks from the locals and accessories. The prints are reasonable. Even if you are not planning to buy anything, just stop by and look at some of the stuff they have!

Watch out they will charge you two dollars for the bag. Aside from that it's a fairly nice little gallery, with 100 different types of archival prints. It's in Haleiwa which has lots of cool little shops to separate you from yr money. We did buy a print 16x20 of a woman sitting in a chair and looking at the viewer commandingly. $60 so fairly cheap.

I'd give it zero star if I had the choice. Rude associate with no curtesy, worst customer service Everrr! Today is our first time visit. Me and husband walked in, not realizing it was near the closing time. Husband picked some pictures of surfboards wanting to send them to his dad in Florida. This pregnant associate, was on her phone the whole time, never greeted us nor offered any help, walked straight passed us to the double door, shut one of it, loudly, pulled the OPEN sign back, as her way to remind us of the closing time AND that we're very not welcomed. I looked at the time, 5:57 pm. Under her pressure, my husband put back the 3 pictures he picked and gave up on the purchase, still said Thank You to her politely on the way out. She shut the door closely, again loudly, as if one of us had a tail, it'd be stuck by her door. That's how little her patience was and how annoyed she was by this job.I understand she's probably not feeling well be pregnant and probably have some fire going on at home waiting for her to put out, but it's still NOT OKAY to be extremely rude. She gets paid for a job that requires customer service. Don't take the money if you can't offer your boss equally.

Polu Gallery has an open, museum feel that still retains a casual ambience because of the friendly shopkeeper and the type of art being sold--more on the quirky, hip side, y'know? I liked the humor in the art pieces--local girls on mopeds, chubby dudes with handlebar mustaches and surfboards, that kind of thing. A real twist on the basics. Much of the art is smaller sized prints with a few larger canvas pieces (I assume originals?) on the walls. The smaller sized prints are helpfully shown in larger picture frames to show how they might look. Prices are mostly around $40-$60 and up. Not much for the broke college student looking to send a birthday present for their mainland family, unfortunately, but I enjoyed looking and didn't feel odd about browsing like I sometimes might. Even though I'm not in the market for larger pieces I did think Polu Gallery probably could use larger versions of the prints or other kinds of larger pieces, as well as smaller pieces for the financially retarded because I was definitely interested. Maybe some calendars or cards would've been nice. Recommend you check out, especially if you're looking for art pieces that are a little more alternative or whimsical, in that kind of range.

This is one of my 2-3 'must-stops' every time I'm up North. I love checking out the rotation of art and seeing what's new. There's a good variety of art and products that appeal to all budgets too, which is a huge draw for me! I've gotten gifts for myself and others from here and always happy with my purchase. There's no pretension here, it's just plain cool.

Love this place. If you are into collecting art from little known artist, this place is great. The feel of the gallery is a non pressured environment where you can peruse at your leisure. The art comes from various artists include Welzie. The art is cute and whimsical. We have several pieces and usually by every-time we swing by.

This is an incredible local shop. I only had a minute to browse given I had my 13 year old with me who wanted to keep walking. All I can say is the warmth and positive vibe hits you immediately. Absolutely fantastic art work here. Some originals, some prints. Some of the prints were beautifully framed as well. The vibe here is very warm, very Hawaii (not touristy), pretty North Shore feeling. I really wanted to purchase a couple things but it just would not fit into my more metropolitan home decor unfortunately. But, nonetheless I can appreciate it. They also have some clothes, shirts, hats, etc. This would be a place I would for sure want to come back to. Keep it local and shop here!!

Found this shop while wandering around the North Shore shops on foot. What a treat! Several different artists on display, great prices, and friendly staff. My wife and I got about four prints to keep as souvenirs, plus shipping to get them back to California. We got an email with a tracking number, and the art was in our hands back home just a few days later. Seemed very well packed! Not a dent or scratch on the prints. I'm a very happy customer.

Lots of japanese artists, great price for the copies. So many can go up on my wall in my apt. I did a lot of resist dropping a couple of hundred unplanned bucks here. It's really best - definitely the best gallery along that stretch.
