The establishment is own by a Korean owner. They are nice and personable. The food is great...Korean, American, other Asian mix. There's about three ladies and one gentleman doing all the food preparation Monday to Fridays, close on weekends.Bibimbap: They give you the red hot sauce put on. I'm glad...and would have over spiced and over killed it. I would not be able to eat it. I dropped little at a time to get the right spice level. It was delicious with egg, shiitake mushrooms, Ung choy, Teri meat, cucumbers, and carrots over rice. Ah! The merriment of vegetables, meat, and sauce...delightful! Tuna / Egg sandwiches were tasty and moist...shucks, no pickles!Chicken stew was phenomenal. Giant drum sticks with carrots and potatoes over rice. It came with side of rice and Chop Chae.I tried their California roll sushi which had a good size lettuce for that slight crunch factor... two to a container...yummy! There's lot of variety foods to choose from! Come check it out...Ciao!

I recently started a new job...and true to form, I still don't bring home lunch. My coworkers noticed that I am always buying food...and recommended this convenient mini mart that is literally across the street from us. The mini mart offers a variety of food items, like instant noodles, chips, candies, and snacks, as well as various beverages (i.e. coffee, soda, water). In addition to the normal food you'd find at a convenience store, they also offer various bentos and prepared food (i.e. sandwiches, pasta salad, somen salad). I love their bentos! It is like getting a mini korean bbq plate for half the price!I usually get their mandoo bento, which has 6 pieces of fried mandoo on a bed of white rice...and it comes with 4 sides (japchae, choy sum, bean sprouts, and cabbage). All for only $5.50! It is such a deal. They have bentos with meat jun, bbq chicken, pork...and they have a daily special. The only thing dangerous about this is that with their prices...I am not as incentivized to bring home lunch.

My favorite go to mom and pop store when I'm at work. They have everything from sundries, groceries and hot food. They recently went through new owners, both owners were/are very friendly. It is pricey here but the convenient location makes it worth while. Freshly brewed coffee every morning (a must for me!) and spicy musubi! Odd combination but SO good, just don't eat it in conjunction or you will have "issues". The freezers are kept full, grab and go food always on hand. The only downfall is their chips run low quickly, being it is the only convenience store for a huge office building, residential building and Kaiser.Great service, necessities on hand if you need them, clean and great location.

You'd never know that this tiny place at the base of a condo makes a fresh, ono chicken katsu bento at a very budget friendly price. The chicken katsu bento packs an amazing amount of surprises into the little container. The katsu is fairly thick, not pounded too thin, and comes with a quality katsu sauce, not the lame de rigueur fast food goop. There's also a few florettes of bright green steamed broccoli, chop chae, fried mandoo, bean sprouts, a slice of scrambled egg speckled with kamaboko and spam, rice and takuwan. All this for just $3.95 including tax! Pretty hard to beat for an economical bento that really delivers in quality and quantity.

I'm rating it "Five Star" because this mini mart has an awesome array of Korean food bentos at awesome prices--under $5.00 for a meal! You can even splurge on a side of mandoo or sushi for that price. Bulgogi, bbq chicken, fried tofu, bibimbap on certain days, fish and meat jun--am I missing anything? In these bentos, you usually have rice, cellophane noodles, takuwan, some type of greens, and bean sprouts. Just right for the average person who needs to go back to work without being sleepy from overeating. The bentos have just enough seasoning, not too salty. My favorites are the mandoo and the tofu (yes, really, the tofu). My husband says the bibimbap is good for not being in a stone pot. His egg was perfectly cooked.Too bad I don't work in the area, so I can only go there when I'm on vacation, or if I want to grab a quick breakfast. (In the morning hours they have spam musubi, assorted danishes, manapua, hot-dog manapua, tuna manapua, eggs and rice with either bacon or "little smokies" sausages--also very reasonably priced.) One of the reasons why I look forward to my vacations is so that I can fill my cravings for the Plaza Mini Mart bentos--no kidding!

This place is good for on the go. It's just annoys the heck out of me how much they charge for muffins and others stuff they get at Costco for cheap. Profit I guess. Anyways, their breakfast is good, lunch bento are good.. Overpriced sushi. (California Roll) even a good sushi place don't charge that much on their California rolls. Anyways, the reason for 2 stars is because, I was eating my breakfast today and almost bite into a bug that so happen to be with my eggs. Wahhhhhhh

This place is AWESOME!!!Finally figured out where all my coworkers are sneaking off to and coming back with delicious smelling Korean food!!! Trust me, there is nothing more torturous than sitting in a cubicle smelling other people's Korean food at 10:15 in the morning... Sniff Sniff - where??? WHERE???Plaza Mini Mart is located in Royal Capitol Plaza - a high-rise condo near Kakaako. I'm pretty sure that if you don't work or live IN the Plaza, you'd have no idea that this place even exists. So if ya don't know... Now, you know! Cuz Plaza Mini Mart makes some KICK-AWESOME Korean takeout!!! And everything is sized and priced to make the perfect lunch supplement! They have mini orders of the following:Chive pancake Fried mandooAll kinds of banchan - cabbage, cellophane noodle, broccoli, and more!California maki and hand rollsHard boiled eggsBreakfast itemsAnd a whole store full of snacks and drinksMost side orders are priced around $1.35 or so. Last visit I got a mini combination of chive pancake and mandoo for $3.50. This was really filling and I never had room for my lunch later on in the day! You can also get plates made to order, so I'm definitely going back again!NOTE: I've seen the owners taking turns cooking more pancake and refilling the take out bentos. Every time I've eaten here everything seems really fresh, but I tend to buy stuff before noon. The entrance is off Curtis street between Kawaiahao and Kapiolani Blvd. There is a little turn around for the Plaza, so you can probably run in if you're grabbing something pre-made. I'm so ono for that chive pancake, I'm gonna have to go back tomorrow!

Located on Curtis Street off Kapiolani Blvd. by the Lexus and the Pre-Owned Lexus dealerships, this little mini mart has a myriad of beverages, sandwiches, bentos, pastries, etc. Prices aren't great, but not as expensive as other businesses in the area. Man at the register is cordial enough, pointing to areas where I might find items requested.

Small little gem of a mini mart that has a good variety of inexpensive breakfast, korean, & sometimes sushi roll bentos made fresh. Korean couple making all the food fresh in the back kitchen. They also regularly have fresh cut fruit, good salads, a generous somen bento, premade sammies. Plus many offerings of a convenience store. I can eat here almost everyday spending between $4-$6. Nice owners, too.
