Extremely pretentious sales man. Kept pushing the opposite of what we wanted. We wanted a basic, simple set up. And he said we asked for the "bottom of the selection." And proceeded to explain why. We had environmental, spacial, accessibility , and auditory reasons for our choices. We did our research and knew what we wanted. We knew the model and what inventory they already had. Well, we will take our business elsewhere. He did apologize as we asked to be let out. He realized he spoke down on us.

I went to Piano Planet a little less than a week ago looking for a digital piano and George was super helpful! The whole process was easy and stress free. So many different beautiful pianos. You can have it delivered or choose to do pick up. We did pick up and it went smoothly. Couldn't recommend this place more!

I first learned about Piano Planet soon after I moved to Hawaii. Located along the Nimitz Highway, it is in a large commercial facility. There is easy access to the parking lot. I recently visited the showroom after about 10 years. There were a lot of my favorite pianos lined up in the showroom just as there had been ten years ago. The current president, George, attended me during my visit this time. He was delighted that I knew of the store for 10 years and he listened to my story eagerly. I've been active as a manager of piano classes and music productions for many years, but now I told him that I want to enjoy music purely for myself. What he proposed was an electronic piano that I could play without hesitation even at night. As a music professional, I've always had some resistance to electronic pianos. But they have good points: I don't have to tune them, the installed bluetooth and headphones mean I can play them anytime without worrying about disturbing the neighbors, and electronic pianos are more affordable than acoustic pianos. Taking these things into consideration, I decided to buy Roland's new grand piano that he recommended. The price for the white color was $1000 higher than for a black one, but I chose the white grand type. It was just delivered and it fits nicely in my renovated room. As expected, as George said, the piano's tone and touch do not give up anything to acoustic pianos. A piano has been my professional instrument for many years, but now it's finally time for me to play the piano freely, just for fun; so I'm really happy!George seems to specialize in guitar, but his piano skills are quite nice. I felt that the melody of the piano he casually played expressed his feelings for music that he cultivated over many years.ピアノプラネットを初めて知ったのはハワイに移住して間も無くの頃でした。ニミッツハイウェイ沿いに位置し、大きな敷地の商業施設の中にあります。パーキングも広くて行き易いです。今回はおよそ10年ぶりくらいにショールームを訪れました。ショールームにはあの頃と同じ様に私の大好きなピアノが沢山並べてありました。この日応対してくれたのはジョージと言う現在のプレジデントでした。彼は私が10年前からこの店を知っていた事を喜び、私の話しを熱心に聞いてくれました。長年ピアノ教室や音学プロダクションの経営者としても活躍して来ましたが、今は純粋に自分の為に音楽を楽しみたいと彼に話しました。彼が提案したのは夜でも気兼ねなく演奏できる電子ピアノでした。音楽のプロとしてわたしは昔から電子ピアノには若干の抵抗があったのですが、調律しなくて良い、時間を気にせず演奏できる、そして純正ピアノより価格が安い。これらを考慮して私は彼が勧めたローランドの新作グランドピアノを買う事に決めました。白は黒より高かったのですが私は白のグランドタイプを選びました。それは引っ越したばかりでリノベーションが完了した部屋にナイスフィットしました。流石にジョージが言った通り音色やタッチは本物のピアノに負けていません。そしてBluetoothが搭載されているので演奏の楽しみ方がどんどん増えそうです！長年ピアノと共に働いて来ましたがわたしにもようやく自由にピアノを弾ける時間が取れる時になり、本当に嬉しくて堪りません！ジョージはギターが専門の様ですがピアノの腕前もかなり年季が入っている様でした。彼がさりげなく演奏してくれたピアノの旋律には長年培われた彼の音楽に対する気持ち込められて居ると感じました。

George and Keith have always been hospitable when I would pop into the showroom through the years to tickle the ivories. They have quality instruments for every need and budget. Inventory of acoustic pianos includes new and pre-owned. Kawai, Boston and of course Steinway. Digital - Kawai and Roland. They go out of their way to take care of their customers. My wife has bought her dream grand piano here and a number of digital Rolands. She sends all of her piano students here.

Great customer service from a team who really knows what they're talking about. Very friendly, patient, and attentive to your needs, no matter what level you're at. The building itself is a little hard to find, as the turn is kind of hidden, but once you find the building, there is lots of parking and the store is easy to find; just keep walking forward, and it will be on your right!

Piano Planet is a local piano business that has been around for twenty plus years. George Nellas, Owner sold us a Yamaha U1 upright piano nineteen years ago. The Yamaha was a refurbished piano from Japan. My daughter practiced for her recitals on that piano while the rest of the family played songs, chop sticks and enjoyed the piano. It gave us lots of great memories.Last week, we happened to stopped by Piano Planet and George was there. He helped us as I inquired about the Kawai and Yamaha pianos. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. Being a Steinway dealer, he does not carry the Yamaha acoustic line in the store. George showed me his Kawai GL and Boston GP lines. He explained the connections Steinway has with these brand of pianos. It was very informative. I told him that I may be interested in a used piano and shared what I was looking for. He told me to drop him an email and he would send me info on the Boston and Kawai lines. He also mentioned that he would provide a quote for a new Kawai he had in the store. We left feeling good about what was shared. I sent an email and thanked him for his help and time. Later that day, George sends me info about the pianos and a quote.We purchased and traded in our piano and got a Kawai Baby Grand. George made it happen. His helpful information, care and service was so appreciated. It is what I believe kept him in businesses all these years. He builds relationships and connections with his patrons. That relationship and connection brings you back when you are in the market for a piano. Loyalty and honesty seems to be other qualities he possesses as shared by many on Yelp. Evidence of his loyalty is with "S and S Piano Inc. delivery service." They delivered my piano (Yamaha) nineteen years ago and today.....delivered my new piano to my home. They were fast, efficient, and courteous. It does say a lot when companies work together for these many years.Thank you very much George Nellas of Piano Planet for our new Kawai piano. It's going to bring us continued joy and memories. I would highly recommend Piano Planet to anyone looking for a quality piano (acoustic or electric). Not only do they have a stellar selection of various grand and upright pianos, the service was very warming and welcoming. I made an appointment with Keith, who right from the start, made me feel at home and comfortable in the store. He kindly walked me through all the various sounds, mechanisms, and various qualities of each piano. Furthermore, Piano Planet's collection of Steinway and Son's is absolutely magnificent. I was blown away by the range of pianos they had available. If you are looking to purchase an extravagant acoustic piano, this place takes the cake. Also, I would like to personally recommend Keith as your trusted piano advisor. He was extremely knowledgeable in my personal needs as a piano enthusiast. I felt his sincereness. Also, I did not feel like he was trying to make me purchase the most expensive piano in my price range, but help me explore which piano was BEST for me. What more could you ask? My wife and I came into the shop looking to purchase a piano for our family. We are not experts by any means and Keith took the time to explain the many options they had available. Keith was very pleasant to work with and generous with his time, eventually guiding us to a handful of options that were best suited for our needs. Great customer service is a rarity these days but you can still find it here.

Our family was traveling last week, visiting Oahu, and made a visit to Piano Planet for our adult son. Our son has autism and has perfect pitch, and also is a certified piano tuner. Needless to say, our son deeply loves pianos. All pianos. But, he has a special interest in Steinway & Sons pianos, which Piano Planet carries. We had been planning on returning to Oahu for about a year before we did. Our son was researching piano dealers in Hawaii, determined to visit one while there on vacation. He found Piano Planet online and that was it. He declared that we had to visit while in Hawaii! We showed up to Piano Planet. It looked like a museum from the outside. Absolutely gorgeous and top-notch. The doors were locked and there was a sign that said, "please ring the bell if you do not have an appointment." So we rang the bell. We were greeted by Keith, the employee on site that day. At first, he peeked his head out of the unlocked door and asked how he could help us. We explained that our son was waiting for a year to see the store, that he has autism, perfect pitch, and is a certified piano tuner. He kindly let us in. My son was overjoyed! This trip to Piano Planet was "a dream come true" for him, as he said in his own words. It was one of the top two highlights from his entire trip. This store and Lanikai Beach. Because the pianos there in the store are in mint condition (never touched or used) our son was not allowed to play the majority of the pianos in the store, which is totally understandable. They are sold as brand new. But, Keith did allow him to play a Steinway & Sons in the back, one that was used and allowed to be touched! Our son was absolutely elated. Keith even played for the three of us, and he is an amazing pianist. The experience was awesome. No, we were not in the market to purchase a Steinway & Sons at this time. It is way out of our price range which makes the trip to the store and Keith's customer service all the more special. We let him know up front that, no, we were not going to be purchasing. Yet, he was still kind to all of us. I would highly recommend this store if you are looking to purchase a piano. Ask for Keith!
