My first experience there was wonderful! I'm surprise there wasn't more people at this place. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the humongous bowl of pho with a huge rib bone, 3 big prawns, and a huge lobster! Also, there was more meat in the bowl!! I wasn't there for a contest nor was I trying to make a world record, so sadly I couldn't eat it all. But the soup was fantastic. The meat on the Rib bone was tender. The dipping sauce for the lobster was flavorful. They gave me a lot of vegetables . I had food for the rest for the rest of my weekend! I'll be sensible next time and order a smaller bowl. But I'll be back!

This was before Pho My Hao went there and found out it was sold and the New owner is from the Manoa Market place on the 2nd floor, which took over the restaurant.I ordered the combination Bahn mi and the sandwich was full with ingredients, but was disappointed that the bread was not toasted which gave the sandwich a chewy and not fluffy like most Vietnamese sandwiches are known for? Asked the owner why the bread was not toasted and he said lots of the older customers didn't care for it crispy and said it made the bread hard. The tendon pho was large and lots of think slices of tendon and the broth was very flavorful. The fresh pressed sugar cane drink was very good and refreshing.Inside is very spacious and lots of parking underneath the building, except elevator to the restaurant is out of order, so there is about 18 steps you need to walk up or drop off any person not able to climb steps or using a wheelchair at the loading & unloading area before going down to parking lot on the right side going down to parking structure.

Pho Viet has a new Ala Moana location besides their restaurant in Manoa. I believe they took over right after Pho Dynasty the next day 2/1/25. You won't be able to tell too much, since the interior hasn't changed. On the outside has a sign with My Hao or Pho My Hao covering the old sign but the lady worker said the sign will come off soon. I was a little confused at first if this is the new restaurant name or Pho Viet. As I was entering it in Yelp, she typed it in the Restaurant name, Pho Viet Ala Moana. I haven't been to their Manoa location yet so the worker was nice and patient as I was making my decision. So many choices to choose from but I since I love pork in banh mi sandwiches, I ordered the bbq pork banh mi and bbq pork roll. I was going to save half of the banh mi for mom later but the bun was so warm like it came out of the oven, I ate it all ! The pork was tasty with some cucumber and parsley? Some other places may have more veggies but the sandwich was flavorful in the nice warm bread! The bbq pork roll was good too and I shared with mom. It maybe better with the sauce but my mom and I didn't use it and both liked it. I'm glad they have pork since I can't have shrimp. I found out the spring rolls have variety of protein inside including the shrimp. Good to know and if you can't have shrimp , there's a vegan spring roll. Although I did only take out, the lady was so helpful! There was a family having a meal when I was there but they could use more customers. Now I have the phone number, so next time I can call in the order. They still have the same specials from when I went there last week before the change order. The elevator is still not working, but can walk up the stairs or can walk up the ramp. Perhaps can drop off those who may not be able to walk up the stairs at the loading zone on the restaurant level before parking in the basement. At least there's a lot of parking and the restaurant is pretty big. Hope they do well!
