Pearl Family Dental Care

I've been going to Wahiawa Family Dental Care since I was a keiki. Once I moved from Wahiawa to Honolulu I made it a point to keep driving back to Wahiawa for my dental appointments because of the staff! The doctors and all of the medical professionals were always so friendly. This office really made it easy with multiple ways to remind patients of upcoming appointments and always scheduled follow up appointments at the end of the current appointment. They always were transparent with how my dental insurance works and what I was expected to payout, so I really appreciate knowing up front any costs I would incur. I'll be going to their partner company Pearl Family Dental Care so I'm sure if they have the same atmosphere and aloha spirit as the Wahiawa office does then I'll still be in great hands. Mahalo Wahiawa office for taking care of me these past 15+ years!

This place is awesome!!!!!I've been to many dentist office as a kid and alway had bad experiences/ memories, so you know as an adult now I was very anxious when seeing one let alone it being 20 years since I've last sat in the chair. Right away I started to ramble on about my nervousness and how I've not like going to the dentist as a child but this place is so easy to work with and made me feel so comfortable and at ease.They took there time to explain to me how things have changed and how committed they are in making me feel like family which they did from the start. I've since had a few filling with NO PAIN at all !!I am now a forever patient here!!!Thank you folks for the great smile!Dr. Chun and her crew is the best!!! So very thankful!!

We've been coming here for many years now and PFDC has made a lot of small changes to comfort their clients. Installed televisions & have a play area for the kids.Made things more organized by establishing a "Check-In" & "Check-out" line. I love their appointment flexibility! And they actually CALL you if they have a cancellation. They also have an online appointment reminder where you can request appointments. Awesome job!

we've been their patients for how many years..never had a problem with scheduling appts.our appointments has been always cancelled when it's almost time for our appointments.not sure if there are new to the job.

The office staff are very unprofessional. NEVER call me back NEVER answer my questions and give me the run arounds. Dr Chien you are awesome and a reason I kept coming back but my suggestion would be to get NEW office staff.

this office has the best customer service and accommodation towards cancellations . the dental hygienist are sweet and gentle. the doctors are very good at answering questions and making you feel comfortable.

After moving back to Hawaii after 20+ years, one of my main goals was to find a good dentist for me and my family. I am happy I made the decision to go to Pearl Family Dental Care. My initial communication with the office instilled a good first impression. Setting the appointment was fast and seamless. The scheduler answered the phone with "How may I brighten your smile today?" Little did I know that I would be greeted with such positivity every single time I contacted them. At my first appointment, I was greeted with the warmest aloha. This helped big time because I am not a fan of dental offices, having encountered negative experiences in the past. When I first stepped in the door, I noticed that the office was well-kept and clean. This is a big deal for me and in many ways a reflection of the type of service(s) I would be receiving. I first had to get X-rays done. My experience was a plus. Pat, the dental assistant, was friendly and professional. She was also careful and gentle with the insertion of the film. Let me tell you--I've had dental assistants scratch up my gums in the past. Pat is awesome and has a warm demeanor. I've been lucky to have been assigned with a number of well-experienced hygienists during my several visits. Lauren and Ray are both so friendly as if I've known them for many years. They have been thorough and meticulous in my teeth cleaning, explaining their observations and letting me know in advance what they were doing. Each time, they remind me which teeth I should focus on to ensure optimal cleanliness. I am always satisfied leaving with smooth and squeaky clean teeth. I am fortunate to call Dr. Darren my dentist! He is awesome - professional and well-experienced in his forte. I like the fact that he is direct. He would tell me where the problem lies and what to expect if I do not focus on proper dental hygiene. He is also very communicative throughout the appointment, explaining every step he takes and always asking if I am doing ok. In speaking to Dr. Darren, I could tell that he is a seasoned veteran in his profession. He takes the time to explain in detail to ensure I understand the overall health of my teeth. He goes through his observations and also points out potentially problematic areas hat I need to keep my eye on. I really appreciate when he tries to explain a complex procedure in simple terms. He'll pause to give easy to understand examples to get his idea across. He knows his stuff. I can honestly say that I trust him with my teeth!Overall, I give my past experiences with Pearl Dental two thumbs up! Whenever I go in, I feel welcomed and comfortable. I don't get the usual feeling of anxiety prior to a dentist appointment. As the office manager, Marlene, always asks me if I have any questions or concerns, I feel they genuinely value my well-being as a client. I always leave feeling satisfied with their services and trust that future appointments will go well. I have nothing but good things to say about Pearl Dental!

First I would never recommend this place to anyone. I went in for a cleaning and the hygienist did not clean my teeth she checked my gum pockets and smothered my teeth with fluoride. All the doctor and hygienist said was to floss and that was basically it. I had high hopes for this place. But I'd travel far to visit a a great and attentive Dr. This place should go out of business.

Staff was very very nice but the Doctor was rude. Did not tell me what we were doing so I got nervous that my gums was gonna be injected. They said they were gonna do fillings. So I accidentally held his hand after he injects it and I asked what we were gonna do. The doctor said "Okay you may get out now we're not doing this today" and I was in the verge of crying because I felt like I had to know what's the procedure and why the Doctor needs to do things. Didn't even explain anything to me when I came. I'm not the kind of person who creates problem to mess with people so I was shocked that he responded that way as I'm not used to attitude like that.
