The staff here really are salt of the earth. The volunteers are all kind and generous and passionate people giving of their time and talent as they can. The history of Palama Settlement is an interesting and proud one helping the community through the years. Disclosure: I am a volunteer for the keiki watercolor class and just started teaching watercolor for kupuna. Bit I thought I'd write a review so people might want to visit and sponsor or volunteer there someday.Palama teaches swimming, ukelele, sports, hula, homework tutoring, line dancing, sewing, and many think of Palama for their dental and other services.

My son attended their Summer Enrichment Program during the summer break this year. It is a daily program; Monday through Friday (8 a.m. drop off and 3 p.m. pick up) for children in kindergarten through fifth grade that provides an assortment of fun and educational activities -- pool days, hip-hop dance, sports, pottery classes, and weekly field trips. Enrollment is limited to a small number of kids (first-come, first served basis) and the fee includes all supplies, field trips, and a daily lunch. My son is already looking forward to next year's summer break for their day-long activities!

My personal favorite was "Rose Bleed".... she looked like she could give anybody a rose bleed just by looking at them! This place was too hot for my liking...
