Been there twice. Consistent product. Had the spicy miso. Good stuff. Gyoza was ono. Miss watching the old gyoza maker the old Sanoya had cranking away by the bathrooms. The guys working are punctual and on it. Someone said they are the kids of the last owners?! Good job if they are. The place is a lot nicer then the old place. New graphics all over and the door doesn't get as stuck and make noise like it used to... lol Clean restrooms, but parking is tight if you go at prime times. Overall, a good ramen experience.

I came here around the time this location first opened and boy was it busy! We waited probably about 20-30 min for a table of 2. I ordered the tonkotsu black garlic ramen and it did not disappoint! Tonkatsu ramen is usually my go to and Onoya does it really well. The broth is rich and a bit creamy with tender pork and nicely cooked noodles. I also love the egg with a perfectly cooked creamy yolk. We ordered the fried calamari and gyoza as appetizers. The calamari was good especially with the dipping sauce. We thought the gyoza was ok, it was kinda falling apart as we were eating it. Onoya is a solid choice for ramen and I'm glad they added another location in town!

broth for their black garlic ramen & for miso ramen were tasty, not-everyday BLASTS of flavor -- makes you yearn for the almost blandness of Zippys' Zipmin/saimin broth which become comfort food compared to Onoya's blasts of flavors. very bad was no Diet Coke available tho' they coulda bought some at Times Market across the street -- who cares? not them guys. (regular Coke as a substitute is much too sweet.) Diet Coke would be a good balance to the flavor blasts of their ramen. balance in life is good & needed. ramen bowls were on our table very quickly. their fried oysters dish was a bona-fide thing of beauty (Japanese aesthetics), their tossed greens especially. menu was very nice, but prices were very tiny, lacking dollar signs & hard to see -- they're trying their best.DECOR was new & nice but their big wall of words -- white words on black background -- was an awful mumbo-jumbo of impressions, making you feel scatter brained. "Everybody's talkin' at me, i don't hear a word they're sayin'" song from movie Midnight Cowboy. let's hope our younger generation doesn't become ga-ga in their brains from the bombardment of nowadays media.PARKING in back was very limited, tho' it had nice signage. i hope they're negotiating to use stalls in the makai-adjoining nearly deserted property (except for Fuji-ya confectionery store). no parking means prospective customers vote with their feet -- and go elsewhere.getting YOUR CHECK on their hand-held billing remote machines was not good. i tapped on get a printed receipt but none came out or otherwise presented to me before i left. waiter was slow to present his bill & was not available to kokua me on their new-fangled method.

I ordered takeout from here and was not disappointed at all! I loved every bite of my tan tan ramen and takoyaki!! Even as takeout, it was right temperature and firmness of noodles. The broth was so delicious. And the takoyaki was perfectly crisp on the outside but soft inside. I can't say much about ambiance because I have never been to the store. But the service was quick and ready for my delivery driver. They did a great job making my food quickly and packing it. 10/10 !!!

First time here, for dinner on a Sunday night at 7:00pm. It was slow in there. So, no wait time which was a good. The parking in the back parking lot was full as most of the people was walking next door to Mr. Ojisan which is where we would normally go on a Sunday night for dinner. But, we decided to try this place as this was the former location of Sanoya. Checked the reviews on Yelp first and it didn't sound too promising. But, we decided to try it anyway. The food came out in about 10 minutes. The broth tasted good. But, it was only warm from the cold condiments that was put inside like the corn, green onions, etc. The burnt gyoza came out about 10 minutes later. This was a first to see and eat burnt gyoza from any ramen place before and with very little sauce to kill the burnt taste. Halfway while eating our meal. The young guy waiter just drops the receipt on the table like it was rubbish with no black credit card and receipt holder. We looked at it and we should've crumpled it up and threw it away. Lol. We even tipped 20% plus as we didn't know why we did as we always do whether it's bad or good. I hate to leave a not so desirable review. But, it's a honest review as to our experience here. Hopefully, they will improve like how the Kapahulu location was good! Ambiance is casual and it looks nice and clean in there. So, sorry to say, that we won't be coming back anytime soon.

It's our first time trying out their ramen in this new branch! We came on a Saturday night and their service was really fast. Parking was also easy!We got their black garlic ramen and tan tan ramen and they were both very tasty! I wish they had more meat and eggs instead of just their noodles, but it was still really good!It wasn't too crowded when we visited, so it was pretty quiet and comfortable. They took our orders right away and served our food really quickly too, so if you want a quick and good dinner, this is definitely the place to go!

Came to check out this new location. Replaced the old Sanoya's. There's a limited amount of parking in the back & it can get packed. We waited for around 15-20mins but it can get busy. Casual dining, service was good and attentive. My husband got the Tonkotsu Black and I got the Tonkotsu Classic. I usually get the black as well but I remember last time I ate at their other location, the black garlic was burnt so much that the entire broth tasted burnt. Didn't want to take that risk again so I got the classic, which was good! Good tonkotsu flavor but the noodles were more on the softer side. My garlic was also a little bitter. My husband liked the Tonkotsu Black. Lots of black oil in there though so I'm glad I skipped on the black. Got my kid a Shoyu ramen that came with Gyoza and a Capri-sun, which she smashed in less than a minute lol. She enjoyed the gyoza and the soup. We got the combo with Chicken Katsu Curry Rice and Chicken Karaage bowl. Curry was good; Tender veggies and crispy Chicken Katsu. Always love the pickled veggies that come with it. The Chicken Karaage though, was three large thigh pieces but was kinda bland. Probably wouldn't get the Karaage again.

A 4-hour layover at HNL brought me, my spouse and an Oahu friend to Onoya for lunch. I suggest Shiro's Saimin but was down for anything really. I ate at their now defunct Shirokiya location years ago and I believe this is their new digs. ATMOSPHERE:Tiny dining room with big windows that afford great street views. RESERVATIONS:Not necessary if they're even taken. PARKING:A few stalls in the private lot behind the restaurant, or on-street. MENU:Ramen and izakaya-style apps. Oddly no fried rice. BEVERAGE:House WhiteWine before noon? Only when I'm on vacay! Palatable and affordable Chardonnay (?). FOOD:Tonkotsu MisoI anticipated that the added miso would enhance the tonkotsu's flat flavor profile, but instead merely diluted the broth's thickness. Noodles were al dente and thin, but non-eggy in flavor. Two slices of chashu were tender but majority fatty. The halved whole egg wasnt gooey but medium-hard in temp. The amount of bean sprouts were minuscule and the bamboo shoots mainstream. I could've done without the canned corn and picked off the mound of green onions. The lunch special added 3 pieces of gyoza and a small bowl of karaage don (beef and pork were also available) for just $3.50 more. The gyozas were tasty, with thin wrappers delicately seared, accompanied by a soy-chili dipping sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken karaage were soggy and could've been fried longer. SERVICE:Greeting was immediate. Food delivery was quick but the side dishes came out at varying times. The male server was a bit impatient and rushed us during the ordering process. But, we were checked on twice. OVERALL:Fair prices. I should've stuck with my favorite broth, shoyu, but my curiosity in the hybrid tonkotsu miso broth got the best of me.

One of my favorite spots to grab ramen on the island. The service is attentive and nice. I always get the spicy tonkotsu and the flavor is on point. The egg is perfect and jammy & I love that they give you the whole egg.I tried the calamari and it was pretty good as well. So glad they opened a location closer in town, I'll be back!!

This took the place of the old Sanoyas. This renovated ramen spot is so much more conveniently located than the kapahuluu location. There's a small lot but lots of street parking. The service is fast and the ramen is good. This location seems to have less items than the kapahuluu one. They didn't have the crispy spicy ahi rice. It wasn't a deal breaker though cause the ramen was delicious and their gyoza. They karaage was not bad but I definitely would tell them no mayo on top. I love the black garlic ramen! The tonkatsu tan tan was also interesting as well! If you didn't know, there is vegan ramen choices here as well. I will be back to this location because of parking and great fast service!
