Thanks to IG, my daughter saw that they were having a buy one, get one free deal this week so we had to get ours! I made a 11:00 reservation the night before and we were able to get our table right away. It is in a small strip mall and parking is limited, so just a heads up.We ordered the spicy tonkotsu, black oil ramen, gyoza and menma. Everything tasted great! The server was very good and came to check on us a couple of times and refilled out water too. They have many tables and they play the old school jams. We got $16.00 off of our tab so lunch for us was under $35.00. Not bad these days.

Still one of the best ramen spots on the island! My only real complaint? It's a bit of a drive for me--but honestly, it's worth every mile. The Black Garlic Tonkotsu is my favorite, but with their specials changing monthly, I'm just grateful I live here so I have the chance to try every new creation they come up with! Parking can be tricky, but it's not impossible. It really depends on when you go--since the laundromat next door can get busy. Luckily, there's also street parking if the lot is full. One thing I always say is that Hawaii needs a stamp card for must-visit ramen places, and this spot would *definitely* be in my top 5! Also, you can't beat the cool, casual, and modern atmosphere. Also, huge shoutout to the staff for their kindness and attentiveness. Our server--a young college guy most likely--was really patient with my pregnancy-related requests and questions. He didn't seem too confident about the do's and don'ts of pregnancy, but I really appreciated that instead of guessing, he checked with the kitchen to make sure everything was safe for me. I was grateful we were both able to work together to find something I could enjoy eating. I can't have raw eggs, and they cooked mine all the way through without hesitation. They even followed up after I got my food to make sure it was to my standards. (Side note: isn't it crazy how menus will tell you what's vegan but not what's safe for pregnancy??)

It has definitely been a minute since I've been here but the curry was just as good as I remembered. A combo with both ramen and curry runs about $22. The serving sizes are big and my husband and I were able to split a combo plus a side order gyoza and be completely satisfied. My teen had a curry gyoza full sized plate and ate every bite. We also tried the potato salad for $5 a scoop and I thought it was one of the best Japanese potato salads I've had although the price was a little high. Service was good and food came out quickly. The restaurant is clean but it's nothing fancy. My family would definitely return. PERSONAL OPINION: Dine in portions are much larger than Takeout portions.

Not only was this one of my top meals during a week in Oahu, but it's one of the best ramens that I've ever had! One of my friends from Hawaii had recommended Ono-ya and it also happens to be #95 in Yelp's Top 100 US Restaurants in 2024. They offer a wide selection of ramen including three signature ones, classic options, several vegan options and a monthly special. If you wish, you can also customize your own bowl of ramen, however our waiter stated that most people will choose one of the ramens from the menu, then make a couple modifications rather than starting from scratch. I immediately selected the TONKOTSU BLACK ($17), and upon first sip, I knew I made the right choice. The pork bone broth was rich and delicious with notes of their homemade garlic oil. It also wasn't too salty which I have found to be the case at other ramen spots before. Two meaty pieces of char siu were so tender and succulent. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the jammy marinated egg. Garlic chips enhanced the flavor even more while the green onion, bean sprouts and wood ear mushrooms diversified the textures. I completely finished my bowl, including every last drop of the broth. The only thing was that the restaurant's air conditioning wasn't operating that day, so it was pretty stuffy inside and therefore not a comfortable environment for eating hot ramen. They had a couple fans blowing, so I'm assuming the AC just needed to be repaired. Despite the heat, it seemed like the employees weren't affected one bit. We appreciated the friendly and quick service that they provided. I found my perfect bowl of ramen here and it's going to be tough to beat!Note: The location shares a parking lot with a Papa John's and a laundromat, so there are spaces available, but it's just a bit tight.

Onoya Ramen has been in our lives for a very long time. Remember the Sonoya Restaurant on King Street? Well, this yummy ramen shop is the same store just a different name. You can place a reservation right here on this Yelp app. If you get there early, let them know you've arrived especially if there are open tables.I found out about this place after attending a Yelp Elite Event where were treated to a spectacular array of tasty samples so we would know what we'd like to order right off the bat when we arrived to dine in.The ramen with the chicken soup base highlighted with a citrusy uzu flavor is what I always order, the chicken katsu curry plate is yummy, and gosh darn, that fried chicken is surely moist inside, savory on the outside, and the taste is so fresh-tasting with a squeeze of lemon sprinkled onto the fried outer part.If you add extra ramen, it does not come with a respective soup amount so you might end up with uncovered ramen noodles. The combos are a good deal. You could eat the ramen and take the mini curry (for instance) plate to go.The handmade gyoza not from a package is hot and fresh with a crispy outside and is one of my favorite mainstays here despite being a little too expensive. There is a mini wait area at the door along the inside wall. They have a set of restrooms inside. The staff are friendly and helpful if you need ordering guidance. If you come here often, they will likely remember you! They have a points awards program so make sure to ask before making payment. There is a parking lot with free parking and some street parking in the neighborhood along the street.Zippy's Kapahulu is next door with Kapahulu Avenue bei the main drag. They are working on a new Sonoya location exactly where it was along King Street across from Times Supermarket.Eat here! It's oishi!

Got introduced to this place by my boyfriend and it definitely hit the spot. We wanted something delicious and comforting after a long day and a good workout. Came In a few hours before closing on a Saturday night and I was surprised there wasn't a wait. We were seated in about 3 mins they were just clearing some tables. We Sat down and browsed the menu. I settled on the tonkatsu tan tan made it a combo and chose the spicy tuna bowl and the spicy tuna Crispy rice. My bf also did the tonkatsu tan tan combo but did the chicken Karage.Tonkatsu was really good and flavorful. The noodles were thinner than I'm used to but still chewy and yummy.Spicy tuna crispy rice was pretty good and the spicy tuna bowel was decent. Unfortunately the spicy tuna was a bit bland and underwhelming. Overall I would give this place a 4 out of 5. They only gave two pieces of pork belly and I paid $2 extra for a tiny bit of bean sprouts refer to my picture for reference. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying more options.

We were craving some ramen and decided to check out Onoya. There is a very small parking lot that is shared with other businesses, so spots are limited and most likely taken. There was no wait time when we arrived and we were seated promptly. Once we ordered, the food came out quick! We got the Tonkotsu Tan Tan Men and Tonkotsu spicy. Both were delicious. Noodles were cooked perfectly and nicely al dente. It wasn't too spicy but had a good kick. Service was quick and staff were friendly!

I've been to this ramen shop about 2-3 different times by now and usually don't get the chance to go here to begin with since it's far from where I live on island. Every time I went, my table would get our food at an almost not-human, lightning fast speed. Before you think that maybe the quality is bad, it's NOT. It's actually really surprising with how high the quality is and how fast the food comes out.I will say, I think their ramen is the best item on their menu and it makes sense since it's quite literally in their name. Their broth tastes simple yet flavorful and isn't overly oily like some other ramen shops on island. Their curry was good but did look a little different from the picture shown on the menu. It seemed like the curry was more chunky in real life- but! it still tasted good and had a small kick of spice to it. The best part of the curry dish that I ordered was actually the pork katsu part of it. Their breading has a nice crunch and isn't too thick. It almost reminds me of the tonkatsu I had in Japan!
