A poke stop was a must on our trip and we went to Ono Seafood since I've never had it before. We luckily found a parking spot right in front of the store in the tiny parking lot. Otherwise, there is street parking. They are known for their fresh ahi tuna poke. They did have some salmon options, but it was sold out by the time I got there in the afternoon.I got the Shoyu Ahi and Miso Ahi. Normally I'm indifferent about ahi tuna, but this place changed my mind! The poke was so fresh and soft. My favorite was the Shoyu Ahi.

Solid place to grab poke bowls, but be prepared for limited parking and seating (2 spots in front of this hole in the wall place). You order up at the counter, can choose 1-2 types of poke, and white versus brown rice for your bowls. The main choices are ahi but there are some salmon options too. I had the shoyu ahi which was lightly marinated, fish tasted fresh. My husband had the shoyu ahi and the spicy ahi - he preferred the latter though it did pack more of a kick than expected. Overall, good poke, but not sure I would battle the parking situation every time as there are some other solid options in the area.

giving 3/5 stars since the price point and portions do not quite hit the mark, and my wasabi ahi was wayyyyy too overpowering that it was a bit unpleasant to eat. but truly - i spent my first few days of my oahu visit eating the wasabi salmon from foodland (which is honestly a 5/5 experience every single time). so i think im feeling a bit of comparison bias here. however, ono is a small business, and the ahi did taste very fresh. they even have a small parking lot out front which is so nice to see in oahu. id say try all the poke spots on the island, and definitely make ono a stop.service is fast, the place itself is small since its a take out spot. they do have benches out front!!

I tried Ono Seafood at the Kakaako Farmers Market, hoping to finally fall in love with poke while in Hawaii, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. To be fair, I'm not the biggest fan of raw fish, so I came in with high hopes that this spot would change my mind.I ordered the Hawaiian Style Ahi and Spicy Ahi, as unfortunately, all the other flavors were sold out by the time I got there. The poke itself was decent; the Hawaiian Style had nice seasoning, and the Spicy Ahi had a good kick to it. However, I was expecting a melt-in-your-mouth texture that wasn't fully there. Some pieces were tender, but others were unexpectedly tough and chewy.I also wish there had been a bit more rice to balance out the generous portions of fish. Do be aware that the wait is long but the line goes by very fast due to the efficient and kind service! Overall, it wasn't bad, but it didn't leave me craving more. If you're a poke fan, you might enjoy it, but for me, it was just okay.

Ono's is always my first stop when i'm in Hawaii! The fish quality is so fresh and the flavors are all so good. My favorite is definitely the miso one. The poke here is soooo yummy I would fly to Hawaii just to eat here!!

I love poke so much and this place was recommended by my friend. It did not disappoint. So delicious We ordered 4 poke bowls: ahi miso, salmon miso, spicy salmonSince the poke has so much sauce and flavors already, I'd probably forgo the furikake seasoning next time

Delicious poke bowls in a hole in the wall. Parking is super limited, only 2 spots in front of the restaurant, and 2 tables to eat. The poke was fresh and ready to eat, and the rice paired nicely.

Super fresh poke in Kapahulu. The shop is on the smaller side with limited seating outside. There can be a line but it moves pretty quickly. The staff is very efficient. There is a parking lot but it can fill up! While it was a bit pricey for us, the poke bowl is really good and comes with a drink. We got the spicy ahi and shoyu ahi, and ended up liking the shoyu ahi a bit more because we felt it had more flavor. While we had to leave and find somewhere else to eat the poke, it was tasty and good to try after hearing so much about this place.

This place is popular with tourists so it is overpriced. $17 for a poke bowl. I like to add the tempura bits and furikake as I think it elevates the bowl. It's a good spot to try poke if you've never had it before. Just a heads up, they mostly focused on ahi and tako, no salmon (despite a paper sign that says they do have salmon..).

Quality of ahi was really fresh and the fish was extremely flavorful. Loved the shoyu flavor and the soy. The sauces were really great, and you didn't need any extra toppings either because the poke had little bits of furikake, green onion, regular onion. All seasoned well! One of the top poke spots on Oahu, and I definitely recommend it. Takeout window and picnic benches. Tons of parking. A bit pricy, but fish quality is worth it!
