Ma's...I've heard the whisper of this newbie but thanks to Nadine C for the reminder during her search for lunch in the area you know I just had to give them a peek. Located on Iwilei Road which can mean anywhere in the area but luckily it's an easy find as it's not within the catacombs of Dole Cannery but across in the Regal Dole Cannery building making parking a breeze as you can just drive in and park just steps away from the front door and walking in the staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which it was, briefly described the menu they have which are the bentos are made to order which takes just a few minutes as their kitchen is located upstairs as the staff brings it down using their own elevator is a unique type of service lol!The other option is their Musubi and it comes in a set of 3 for $12 and with 14 types to choose from it was an option that I couldn't resist and chose...- Spicy Ulu- Small Kine Farm Mushroom- Nduja GotegborgLoved how they packed it with such care and the thought of freshness as each musubi is crafted to order starting with the classic triangle shaped rice is topped with each topping packed alone with the nori in a separate bag along with oshibori, napkin and instruction on how to wrap and enjoy your musubi.I thoroughly enjoyed each bougie musubi and that you're able to order a pack for yourself or to share is amazing and fun option and as I waited for my musubi to be made I browsed around the various fun grab and go treats the have including some butter mochi which I grabbed a few and a "Royal Earl Gray Flan" in the display case that I just couldn't resist and didn't disappoint as it was very elegant and light dessert that I ate way too fast.As the staff mentioned that it's the same owner as Name Kaze as they decided to open this spot is something we're so lucky to have though get here early as they close at 2pm but don't forget to grab some sweet treats as well, so yummy and ready to go.Thank you!

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii...This is not your traditional bentle... it's way better!Okazu Ma is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so plan accordingly. They're open from 8am to 2pm, or until sold out. That means: go early and go now!Yeah... the food is YUMMY and the presentation is beautiful! The box for Mama's Big Boy is so cute!Everything is so professional... maybe because Okazu Ma has the same owner as Nami Kaze!If you don't want one of the Bento sets, you can customize your own. Service is friendly and helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions!I got Mama's Big Boy bento because I wanted to try everything. The smoked pork was delicious! The curry croquette and goteborg was a bit spicy for me. The potato salad and nori musubi helped cool my mouth down... LOL! The fried chicken was tasty, boneless, and crisp! The shumai was ok. The namasu was excellent! Spam hash was surprisingly good!Notes:Free parking!Good air-conditioning, clean, and spacious interior!Indoor dining currently has two tables with four chairs each.Cookies, chex mix, cold beverages, etc. are ready for takeout!Highly recommend dining in while the food is fresh and hot!I'm ready to try the other bentos!

I was surprised on my birthday with a bento from Okazu Ma for lunch--what a great treat!I grew up from as far back as I remember on Okazuya food from Kaneohe. I was always so excited to look through the glass covered shelves at the offerings that would soon fill my belly. Great memories! So for birthday lunch I opened up the box to the Big Boy bento and was delighted to see some old time favorites mixed with a few modern takes. First, I loved that it came in a cardboard box---Kauai vibes right there (box lunch). It was modernized with brand colors, the bento menu printed on the inside, and using a sturdy box.On to the food (finally, I know)! First, know that "ginger chicken" here is Kaua'i's version, not what you'd find in your neighborhood Chinese restaurant. It's a take from Hanamaulu Cafe (super sad it no longer is with us)...and tastes just like it. Needless to say, it made me the happiest. The musubi was straight up rice, salt, and nori. I gotta say, it was comforting to have that simple "back in the day", no frills musubi. Goterburg sausage was another way to pay homage to the Garden Island--delicious. Lastly, of the things I loved, the pork belly was on point. Tender and flavorful. Now, the curry croquet and potato salad were my bottom two items. I LOVE curry and potato salad, but they were a little out of sorts in this box.I thought the rest of the items were ok, but would like to a second try to get a better feel.If you haven't tried Okazu Ma, yet, you should definitely give it a shot!

We got a set of nine and let me tell you. It was great. I would recommend this to everybody. I know there's so many flavors. They are open at 6 AM until they sell out. I had to call ahead of time to see if they're open though because the Yelp hours were wrong. The owner was very, very friendly and willing to help when you didn't know what to order. It's very gourmet and everyone should try it such unique twists on local classics

Very tasty bento, I got the mochiko chicken with a rice musubi.I didn't get a chance to go into the restaurant, there was a Okazu Ma "pop up" that my co-workers picked up the bento's from.Love the reusable containers these bento's are packed in. Contains just the right amount of chicken and cabbage side.

OkazuMa just opened and this is a must try! It was created by Chef Jason Peel to honor the women in his family who made food for the family to share and create memories. What a warm and comforting idea. The assortment of musubis is well-rounded. They are made to order and packed with the nori separately. You wrap it yourself. This ensures a fresh, crispy bite. Today, my favorites were the Crab Cali, Small Kine Farm Mushrooms, and Shrimp Tempura. They are sold in sets of 3 choices for $12 (some selections have additional cost).Do not leave OkazuMa without picking up Chef Bev Luk's sweets. OMG, the cereal cookie was my favorite. It's perfectly crispy with lots of butter giving it toffee vibes. The brown butter chocolate chip is rich and yummy. And, there are more quality treats to try... butter mochi, oatmeal lace cookie, marshmallow crunch, vanilla and earl gray flan (saw less!). You must go in to check it out! You really never know what treasure you will find.OkazuMa is located at the corner of Iwilei Rd and Pacific St. There are a few parking spaces in the front. You can even order online and have it brought out. Right now, they are open only Wed to Fri, 6am to noon. I can't wait to go through the entire menu!

Great new addition to the Dole Cannery lunch food scene. Easy to place take out order online then drive or walk up to pick up. Located right below/off to the left side of the Dole Cannery movie theater parking lot ramp. They only open a few days (Wed-Fri) during the week and have 3 lunch options. Little pricey for the quantity of food (just a tad small), but tasty. Of course I had to order one of each plate. Nice spice on the shrimp. I love when salmon isnt dry. I recommend ordering early, as I placed my order at 10:19 and it said pick up time was 80 minutes wait, or 11:45 was the next available pick up slot.

I've been coming here either once a week or every other week. I tried almost all the musubi. I saw they started bentos so I got the Mama's big boy. It was so good, and beautifully packed with care. The desserts and snacks they offer are really delicious! If you don't get a bag or a tray, they're sure to sell out. My favorite dessert is the Royal Earl Grey flan. I got myself 2, one for now and one for later! The staff is super friendly and patient because sometimes I cannot decide what I want. Okazu Ma never disappoints and makes sure my belly is full and happy!
