Ohana Dish is a hidden gem offering delicious and affordable Japanese plate lunches. It's a little shop but plenty of room to dine in with a few chairs and tables. I came here during my lunch break for takeout and recently ordered their Mini Garlic Chicken for $9, substituting the rice for a side salad. I chose ranch as my dressing. The chicken was crispy with a garlic sauce that had a touch of sweetness, similar to a sweet and sour glaze. The portion was just right for a mini plate, and the flavors were bold without being too heavy. The food came out fast and fresh, making it a great option for a quick, satisfying meal. You can see the staff make your meal so you know it's fresh. They have a wide variety of options, so there's something for everyone. If you're in the mood for flavorful Japanese plate lunches that won't break the bank, Ohana Dish is definitely worth a visit!

Stumbled across this place by accident while walking around Fort Street and have come back 4x since! It is cash only, and because it is in Fort Street Mall you will have to find parking in China Town, but despite all of this (and living in Kailua) my partner and I will go out of our way to still come regularly because of the amazing food. You wouldn't think much from its looks, but the food has been consistently delicious, especially the donburi and chicken plate lunches. My favorite is their chicken katsu which I felt was especially delicious with thick pieces of meat and a very clean, not oily or over-fried, taste. Whats most impressive is the price of their dishes with plates as low as $10 each and their most expensive being $14. I personally would pay more for the quality of the food but their affordable prices also keep us coming back. And shoutout to the Japanese couple who seem to work and own it who are always working hard and are very friendly! We'll be back many more times I'm sure.

Ohana Dish is a solid and inexpensive spot to grab a plate lunch during the week in downtown Honolulu. I really enjoy their chicken katsu! It's best enjoyed freshly cooked. The regular size is plenty for one person. They can be busy during the lunch hour so I tend to do a phone order to avoid the wait. This place is worth checking out and does not disappoint.

Came here for lunch i was impressed and the food was served hot. I ordered a mini bbq chicken curry it comes with one scoop of white rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. A mini was $9.50 which I feel is pretty reasonable for a mini plate lunch right now. you also know a place is good when you see local braddahs in their business attire coming here. Overall very affordable and quick, keep in mind that it is cash only .

I went to Ft Street Mall to get some piroshkis from Rada's, but they were closed. I went by Ohana Dish and what caught my eye was that in addition to the chicken katsu, garlic chicken, etc. they offer oyakodonburi which I haven't had at a plate lunch place before. It was delicious. The only part I'm a little bummed about is that it's on Ft Street Mall which I seldom go to. At least I now have another eating place when I'm there.

This is the some of the nicest people in downtown Honolulu! The food is great, good portions for both mini and regular plates, made fresh, and oishi! Food is made fresh so there is a little wait, but so worth it!

Reasonably priced filling lunch! Better for to-go as dining in was quite hot in the store. I tried the chicken katsu curry, the curry itself was very good and the katzu was juicy and crispy. Service was fast, be warned that they only take cash. Parking can be tough, as the store is located in a pedestrian only walking area.

This spot never fails. It's always so delicious and the prices are decent. A small mom and pop place that serves a variety of Japanese and local favorites. You'll see Kastu don, BBQ chicken curry, oyako don, fried saimin, Chicken Toriten, and many more. I've only seen a Japanese lady who's super friendly in the front and I always feel like I'm in Japan. She brings out the plate and will show us the food before she outs them in a bag. Of course, I find myself bowing to her as I leave. When you're in downtown, go check it out.

Fish very light breading. Although they probably buy it that way. Was good. Not over cooked maybe little under. Will hold tartar sauce next time.
