Today was my first time trying Off Da Hook and I walked away a very happy customer.I tried their shrimp ceviche combo for $10 (entree + a drink). It came with a good sized portion of fresh shrimp, cut in half, slivers of red onion and bell peppers, cubes of sweet pineapple and topped with toasted coconut. You also get a mini side of mixed taro chips which were great to scoop up the ceviche or have as a salty bites inbetween the forkfuls of shrimp. Upon first bite, I realized that this is not your ordinary tart ceviche where everything is swimming in lime juice. This is more of a Latin-Hawaiian fusion ceviche since you have the sweet pineapples and the toasted coconut. Their ceviche has a great flavor, something you would really like when eating ceviche in Hawaii. Their sugar cane drink is also great on a hot day. I'm accustomed to the super sweet sugar cane drinks. Theirs is more mild but still good.I also got to try their dessert: arroz con leche. It was topped with dulce de leche caramel and whipped cream. This is a home run dessert. So freakin' tasty! Service is phenomenal. The guys are ultra friendly, always smiling. They bring out your food to you if you're sitting at their little table and they ask how the food is. They want to please their customers and you can't help but love 'em for that. And if you plan to be a regular, make sure you ask for their stamp card. After 10 visits, you get a free combo.Support local! These guys are cool =)

This place has been consistently bomb for years now. My fave poke spot. My favourite is the cold ginger poke.Fast, friendly service. Generous portions. Can be a long line sometimes bc of high demand but line moves pretty quickly. You order and pick up from window outside and be aware there is no seating except for maybe one or two small tables outside. It's more of a to go place

Tried Da Burger. Not bad, the corn arepa wrapping took it out of back-yard burger territory but it was not worth anywhere near $10. Basically an under seasoned burger with pink mayo and slices of avocado. What I found unappealing was the tricky menu. All the entrees are listed on top, with a big $4 sign. This is the price of dessert, not the meal. After this is listed: Free Drink. And finally way by the ground is $10. Yeah. I was the fool who didn't ask outright, and I get that this is a way to lure customers because the $4 dessert is the only thing with a price, but I find it a crappy way to do business. I don't think this will fool many, but I think it's low.I'll admit it's smart, and if you think that's a good marketing trick. Go for it. The Cubano looked pretty solid. Just wont be getting my 10 spot again.
