came here for a late lunch with friends and was impressed overall. the garlic seared salmon bowl was delicious and the snowy volcano don was fresh! it's best shared imo because only eating one bowl can get a little boring so it was nice to split half of each with my husband so we didn't get tired of the flavors. portions are good sizes and service was fast. it was really clean inside and had a good crowd coming through during our meal despite it being 2pm. they're located inside south shore market so parking is plentiful, just need to drive up through the levels. we're definitely coming back to try some of the other options next time!

Ya, get their aburi salmon bowl! It's one of the best I've had! To make it even better, I topped it off with some ikura and micro greens from my fridge when I got home :D turning it into a deluxe version haha. Divine. Their sauce was to die for. So creamy, garlicky, smoky, sweet and savory. I just didn't want my meal to end. The salmon was also pretty fatty, and the rice was perfect as well. Hm... I can't wait to have it again. Or shall I try other stuff? The first time I went there I got their poke. Their spicy salmon and garlic octopus were both fresh, free of chewy parts, and had good seasoning. This place serves up some good food and it's close to home. Hurray!

Tried the Snowy Volcano Don and the Spicy Salmon Creme Brulee, it was really good! The torched poké bowl was definitely my favorite - it's a small place that packs a lot of flavor, I really want to try more of the selection next time- Miguel Morales Photography

I've been wanting to try Ocean Taste ever since they opened in South Shore Market! I'm always a little skeptical of places that blow up on social media, but this place did not disappoint. I came on a Sunday for lunch and it was busy, but the food came out fast. Parking was also easy because we parked in a 15 minute stall right near the entrance since we were getting takeout. I wanted to go for a torched bowl since that's what they're known for, but there were way too many options that looked good, and I ended up getting the California ahi. My bowl was honestly very impressive. The ahi was super fresh and red (lol) and the flavor of the spicy ahi and unagi sauce + creamy avocado was so good. Idk if it was just because I was hungry but this was probably the best poke bowl I've had in a while. My friend got the mentaiko ahi and loved hers as well. I'll be back to try the torched salmon bowls next time!

I didn't have high hopes coming intoOcean taste because of its location but I live to be proven wrong.I had the Mentaiko Ahi with a passion lemonade and wow. The fish and mayo was torched just right and combine with the rice underneath it was so delicious. Delicious to the point I wish I could have had another but I was quite full even though the fish is deceptively small! I like it here, it was chill and the staff was nice. I want to try the butter ahi next!

They have been super busy when they first opened so I finally got to try them. The shop is inside South Shore Market in Ward Village. A lot of parking and it's to the left side when you go in through the parking garage.I got the spicy ahi creme brulee because I was curious how the sugar would be like with the poke... turns out that the crunchy sugar topping complements the salty soft fish.I ordered during lunch time and got my order in a timely manner. Will definitely try their other torched poke bowls. It's just pretty pricey for a small take out box of poke bowl.

Ocean Taste has finally relocated back into the Ward area since the closing of the Ohana marketplace. I've been waiting for them to come back in the area and was super excited to learn that they're now located in South Shore Market. The building has free parking (the same one for TJ Maxx, Nordstrom rack, and Core Power). Service and Ambiance: Simple, minimalistic designs inside with countertop seating and a few tables. A downside to this location is its limited seating, which may not be suitable for big groups looking for a sit-down. There is, however, a lot of seating within the marketplace/building itself. It's still more of a grab-and-go type place, IMO. Staff are friendly and efficient in getting your order ready. Once ordered, you'll be given an order number, and they'll call you when the order is prepared. I went at an off time (2pm), so there was',t but I have seen the lines out the door when they're busy during lunch, so be prepared for a short wait. Price $$: Prices have increased since their days at the Ohana marketplace but this is likely due to rising costs for ingredients and high rent costs at Ward. Most items are in the $16-$30 range, with their poke and aburi (torched ) bowls ranging from ~$15.95 -$17.95, which is comparable to other poke places. Food: Their torched bowls are my go-to, and I ordered their torched spicy mentaiko ahi during my most recent visit. It had the same great taste, but portions were smaller than I remembered. I'd estimate ~1/3 pounds of mentaiko ahi on top of the rice. Overall, I'd recommend coming to satisfy your poke and torched poke bowls when you're in Ward.

Ocean Taste is still one of my top places to get poke on-island. I'm so happy they are in South Shore Market now! I always get the Torched Garlic Salmon. Apparently my sis heard so much about this place and wanted to try too so of course I said I wanted to go LOL. She loved what she got and I wasn't even surprised that she liked it as much as I did because I love it here lol. Highly recommend trying if you love poke and fish. It's one of the best on-island. Upon opening a line begins to form so if you go early you won't have to wait long.

Usually I spot a large line out the door for Ocean Taste, but I was finally able to visit on a slower day! The store is pretty spacious but there are only a few seating options. I ordered the Kaisen Don which was pretty big and everything was fresh and delicious - I was able to save some to share with my partner as I couldn't finish it all for lunch. Probably one of my favorite poke shops in Honolulu.

Ocean Taste is one of the newest biz in South Shore Market, sharing the space with Nalu Health Bar & Cafe, Lemon Supply, Off the Wall, etc. I haven't visited since they had their old location, but this area seems like a much more profitable spot for them. So popular here - there are usually lines out the door for them! They still have the coveted Aburi Series (torched bowls) which was are insanely addictive! We got the Spicy Salmon Crème Brûlée and Torched Garlic Butter Ahi. The Spicy Salmon Crème Brûlée bowl was delicious - rich, buttery, and the sweet sugar cracked top from the brûlée added a unique taste that's different from other poke bowl places. Not spicy at all, more sweet and savory. Alas, the only downside is the bowls are pretty small making it hard to feel satisfied and full for the price of ($18 each). Since moving to Ward location, we can expect a spike in prices so it's a few dollars more than their old locations. Overhead and fresh fish ain't cheap, so I get it! Plenty of free and ample parking in the garage which is nice. I would recommend trying it out! I could see myself coming back while shopping in the area if I want a snack, but not full meal.
